Evnroll Putters-- Amazing!!!

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

After two days I like mine pretty well.  I thought the long putts would be more difficult to used to and the short ones would be like stealing.  I was wrong.  I have adapted really well with distance control on the long putts and making way more than previous because the ball is starting on line so well with better speed.  It is the short ones giving me fits.  I have found I have to play more break than I used to.  I am hitting them softer I guess?  Or not subconsciously pushing or pulling short ones.

I use a line on my ball, and it is rolling end over end super tight.  I just have to make sure I get the read correct.  It is going in the bag this weekend for the calcutta if it holds up tomorrow in a money game.

My son just started playing last year.  He is not a good putter.  He has improved this year with a lesson from Chase and doesn't three putt as often, but he doesn't make many outside of 4 feet.  He picked up my midlock and starting draining everything.  I bought an extra grip when I ordered my Evnroll with plans of putting it on my Scotty.  I ended up extending his Scotty and now he has my extra grip.

I’ve never tried one personally . But that seems to be the complaint I’ve seen numerous times.

some people touch on their issues here.

I rotate an ER2 and ER5 (amongst others) and find their sweet spot to be very .... light? compared to a putter like a milled blade. The sound (or "hit" as my wife calls it....) is actually very satisfying on these putters IMO, but obviously that's personal preference.

I think if I'm out there playing for $$$ I'd roll the ER5 above all others. If I'm playing for fun I'd roll my carbon steel blade. And if I'm somewhere in between the ER2 fits.

Why? Do you think its because the sweet spot is so dead?

It’s because there is less material striking the ball, and to some extent the strike being cushioned by the air that is in the grooves. The easy solution for me was just to go to a heavier head.

So I just received my THIRD ER2…..I have bought and sold it two other times and just keep coming back…..HOWEVER this time there is the metallic “Ping” (no pun) sound from this putter that I KNoW wasn’t there with the other two. I’m using a softer MTB black ball. I do have the gravity grip on this one, could that be the issue? I was just expecting the more muted sound I was used to.

This was my experience also. First one I had sounded normal, nothing crazy... Sold it like an idiot bc it didnt look cool lol

Went back a year later and bought a newer model black one and had that same weird metallic ping sound off the center you're describing. Still love the performance and TBH its the best performing putter ive ever had. But sold that one too. I dont think the grip has anything to do with it tho

Whenever go to PGA store I always roll an ER2 and get tempted to buy it again

I have an ER10 and an ER5. They are both amazing. Even on days I feel like I'm not putting well, I still lack the three putts I used to have. These are really awesome. I'm about to send my ER10 out for a stability shaft. Ultimate flat stick I think.

I opted KBS shaft over the expensive one.  Works like a champ.

I didn't have the confidence in mine after three days of practice to put it into a tourney situation.  The verdict is still out.  I have three more tournaments and then I will give it another shot.  My son does like his though and is playing in a a tournament this weekend with his.  I just can't get comfortable with the 5 footers and in,

Aim the two dots to where you want to see them roll and the line is just a bonus

Looking for some advice. I recently got a ER8v from the BST and changed out the tour tac grip for the Evnroll red pistol grip and it's been an excellent combo for me and I'm loving the putter. I also got a Scotty Select Golo with a Stability Shaft that I was using prior and also love that putter. Contemplating trying to get the shaft swapped and use the Evnroll with Stability shaft as, in theory, it should be an excellent combo. Has anyone done something similar and experienced any noticeable differences?

Same here. I’ve got an ER11v and an ER2, and the 2 has that “ting” sound.

I added a few pieces of lead tape to the inner cavity of the putter, and now the sound is gone.

It seems like that sound is more common on the ER2 and 5. That being said, the 11v is my favorite putter of all time. There’s no ting bc it’s an aluminum face, and just feels overall great

I just love my ER8, had to change the grip to a standard firmer feeling rubber grip. This improved the feel a great deal for me, as the impact is so soft and muted compared to other metal faced putter heads. I use an IOMIC Large “Pistol grip”.  370 g head all paint cleaned out from the head and shortened to 33,5” in length. Best putter I’ve ever had, will stay in my bag for the foreseeable future. As the original ER8 has been discontinued from the “Line Up” with Evnroll, I’ll never let it go……:-)

So I have been wondering for a while about these putters... They are proud of them, that's for sure, but how do they stand up against other putter lines? I have been in love with the white hot insert for years, that is why I built my odyssey  Tank Cruiser #7 into an arm-lock putter. That soft, silent, pop is something that hasn't been touched in my opinion. How does this sound and feel? and what does the setup at address look like? i prefer seeing a tad bit of putter face but not like most mallets that you seem to see all the loft of the putter and the shaft leans back..

def won’t feel as soft as the wh insert. But compared to other milled metal putters they feel much softer due to the groove pattern. I love my ER8.

I’m very similar, except I was able to get one of the 385gm heads before it was discontinued. Mine is 33” with a std Winn AVS grip. I removed all the paint from the sightline in the flange and had a custom sightline cut on the top line between the dots. I keep looking for another 385gm head but haven’t found one yet.

Anyone rolling a mid lock for a decent amount of time?  Just got an ER5v mid lock yesterday.  Carpet rolling, took some getting used to, but once I figured out a ball position and hand grip, it seems to do pretty well.

Just curious what others think of it who has been using one for awhile?

Curious as to where you settled on ball position / club position at setup ???
