Forged iron that's Forgiving and Looks good ?

Another vote for the Bridgestone J15 CB. The club head size and slightly thicker sole help more than most would expect.

 

I also think the FG Tour V4 from Wilson is a very good club. Smaller club head, but the thickness of the sole (same as an AP2) and grind make it more forgiving than it looks. But really, from the 6 iron down.

I love my Mizuno JPX 900 Tour. Have a blade appearance yet are pretty forgiving!

... A little surprised there is only one mention of the Cobra Forged series. Amp Forged, Fly Z+ and Forged Tour. After playing the AP2's I switched to Amp Forged and just enjoyed them more, even though performance is virtually identical. I have played all 3 Cobra forged sets and will be selling my Fly Z+ after replacing them with the Cobra Forged Tour irons. I also tried the Srixon 545's but after using the Cobra's for so long I only played 9 holes with the 545's as visually they are just not my cup of tee. Went to the car after 9 and put the Fly Z+ irons back in my bag. The 545's are going to be for sale this week too. :dntknw:

2011 callaway legacy black... why on earth they never made these for the US market it beyind me ... they have very little offset, plenty of bounce and they are ENDO forged ... marshmellows galore

When i was searching for similar irons voices like Bladehunter's pointed me in the right direction.

 

The Stenson Legacy Black's are the real deal, little harder to come up with, but well worth the effort.

 

Fourteen TC-910's are worth a look as well.

 

Newer is not always better.

Wonder how soft these will be with a forged 8620 carbon steel body and forged face of 4140 carbon steel - that' s a very hard steel - will they be butter soft!

I find the Adams XTD forged to be very forgiving for their profile. Nice high launch, good on thin shots, good sole grind, and cheap to boot. The slots do help.

AP1's are a cast club. For me I still love my 2007 Callaway X-Forged. My 1999-2000 Apex Plus are awesome but not real forgiving.

Edel CB's are a great option. Can't fault my set for anything.

 

Saw in a previous reply the '07 Callaway X-forged and I'll second those as well.

 

Both are solid "player's cavity" irons

Srixon Z 565s -- Forged "Game Improvement" iron. If you've got the ball striking skill, the Z 765 or AP2 are even better.

Shocked to see the JPX-EZ Forged '16 not mentioned at all, especially coming from the MX-23 which is more or less their spiritual predecessor. If they're too thick/chunky, I'd give a look to the Adams Idea Black CB3 which have a much more traditional look but maintain the offset and most of the forgiveness... and are probably a little more consistent on distance with fewer unpredictable flyers.
