But, I maintain that, if I want a budget ball, I'm gonna support the smaller guy like Snell, or the golf companies like Taylormade and Callaway (or Bridgestone but...that's a tire / rubber company with a Golf section). Chances are, my go-to ball won't be Kirkland. Though I'll try them.

My decision making process is basically: What's the best ball for me based on performance and price?

The B X has always just worked for me... I've hit some monster drives with it that I haven't replicated with other balls... and I like the way it plays on the rest of the course. It does everything I want it to do as a premium ball... I haven't done intense side by side testing to make sure it's the "best" but I've tried enough golf balls that I don't think I'm losing a ton, performance wise... In terms of price, it's not ideal... but I'm trying to play my best golf this year, so $26 more for 3 dozen vs Snell seemed to make sense for right now.

Snell makes the best ball for me in terms of performance per dollar... I like the way they play, and I'd put them up against any of the other major brands for my game. I also like supporting a smaller company and trust the Snell is producing a quality product.

Kirkland balls are by far the best VALUE ball you can buy... it's actually shocking at how much cheaper they are than anything else. If I were to do an ROI calculation of simply dollars to performance, the Kirkland ball would win hands down, simply because they are so much cheaper... but I don't particularly love playing them... The 3 piece ball generates a ton of spin and is shorter than other balls for me (once again, I didn't thoroughly test this claim).

I do think the new 4 piece ball has the potential to be a Goldilocks ball... If I can get the average distance I get with other premium balls, it will be my go to ball at that price point... For $15 a dozen a ball that I like is a no brainer for me...

But, I'm also tired of waiting... I'm actually travelling this weekend and won't be able to golf again until Tuesday, so I should have waited to pull the trigger on the Bridestones... but I've got 3 loaded in my bag and I'm looking forward to hitting them on Tuesday... We will see if the 4 piece is out by then!

I do think there is an interesting conversation to be had about cost in golf, and I think it extends beyond just golf balls... I tend to buy cheaper equipment, especially if I can find stuff competitive with modern day stuff. My putter is expensive, and I paid a premium on top of that to get fit for it... but it will be in my bag for the next 20 years, I hope... The only reason I have a new-ish driver is because I won it in a contest... The rest of my clubs are mostly DTC or used... but I enjoyed finding them and really like my current bag... (I'd happily get a new set of irons if someone wanted to pay for them, though!).

I think it's interesting, because amateur golf is as much about the experience as it is the equipment. I'd rather play the worst track with the right people than the best track with the wrong people...

Everyone values different parts of their game differently, and all of us have different golf budgets (and vastly different golf expenses)... I do like that Kirkland is bringing a cheap, quality option to the game, even if it doesn't fit my needs. Knowing Costco, they are going to get the quality issues sorted out and bring a decent ball to market whenever it is ready.

As of Monday, over 14,000 units of the 3.2 version on backorder, waiting to be shipped and delivered.

No order in the system for a 4 piece ball.

Does that include the online sales? I’m curious if it will be online only.

Same here, unfortunately I still have 60 dozen left... I might be able to make it through this delay, but I'm not sure for how long...

60 dozen and you might be able to make it? Do you lose 6 balls each time you play?

I have around 20 dz of the original left. Great ball, especially for $15/dz.

im at 12dz og 4.0 I can’t bring myself to use them. I keep using found prov, ksig 3.1 and other premium balls first.

This is funny, and I’m the same. I still have 8 dz and when I’m facing a long carry over water I find myself grabbing a ProV or scuffed KSig as I don’t want to lose a new one.

I never even knew about the Ksig 4.1 until after they were all gone.  I've never tried one.  😶

You can still buy them used online. Several sites have them but you’ll pay more than they originally sold for. Here’s one example:

I did see that.  I'll wait for the new Ksig 4.2.  don't pay to buy used balls of a ball that is no longer available.  The Ksig 3.2 are good balls as it is.  I have a few boxes of TP5's and Snell MTBx.

I'm visiting the Savannah area, near a military base.  Walked into a Walmart last night and found recycled 3-piece for $6 per dozen.  They were repped as "Grade A" and they look new.  Picked up 2 dozen.

Kind of interesting they were priced the same as recycled low-end models from Wilson, Spalding, Maxfli and others you'd get for $12-18 per dozen in a Wal Mart or Dunham's or other low-end sporting goods stores and department stores.

I officially break the seal on the Bridgestones with a round tomorrow... the box is opened and not able to be returned, so I'm not sure what the hold up is...

Was at my local Costco today (191, but I accidentally bought organic fruit like a sucker) and the supply of the 3 piece ball was actually fairly low... Probably less than 30 boxes on the floor. I'm not sure if that means anything, but I'm going to pretend that it PORTENDS.

Step 1: Look up what portends means.

Step 2: Continue my nonsensical ramblings

Anyways... by definition, we are closer to the release date today than we ever have been! At this point, I wonder if the juice will be worth the squeeze... If I see them online and available, I'm still planning on buying up to 5 boxes.

I expect the three piece will be around even after the release of the new 4 piece.  The V2 is too new to be phased out when (if?) the new ball drops (pardon the pun).

A few weeks back the supply of K3.2 seemed low at my local Costco, and I was a little worried I should buy another box. Then the next week they had a full new pallet.

And it sounds like someone on this thread has some visibility into Costco ordering, who said there are PLENTY of the K3.2 on order.

So I don't think it's going anywhere.

I played an entire round yesterday with 1 K3.2, despite having to pull it out of a bush on one hole and fish it out of a creek on 18. It held up very nicely.

One of my playing partners midway through the round tossed me a K3.2 he'd found, because he knows that's what I play. So I tossed him a ProV1 that I'd found (although I think he plays ProV1x) because that'd just be a ball for water holes for me lol...

I should have explained where my mind went... basically, for whatever reason I thought maybe the resupply would have been tied to the new ball dropping... I have no idea why.

How do  you know he found a K3.2 and not a K3.1?  They are marked the same. I wish they had marked them so you could tell the difference without having to cut them open.

I thought the difference was that the K3.1 says "Performance+" on the side and the K3.2 says "Performance+*" on the side... An extra dot after the +...

Is that not accurate?

They both say Performance+. I believe the font might be a little different in appearance and/or size but probably hard to notice without having them side by side. The cover is also a different type of urethane and the V2 looks more premium than the V1. The V1 has a cheaper plastic-like look to it (but was more durable in my experience).

I still don't know what the story with that is.  How can different balls have the same markings?  The conforming ball list still has two balls, on marked as <<Performance +>> and the other as <*Performance+*>.

The ones I have are identical in stamp, side stamp and cover color and luster. Side by side they are indistinguishable. I mark the 3v.2 so I know. Finding one on the course, you will not know without cutting them open.  I posted some pics some pages back.

TXG review of the new 3 piece V2.0

I'm a bit disappointed to see the high spin with irons like V1.0 (as someone who spins it plenty already).

Looks like the numbers are *very* similar to the previous 3pc model.

Heck of a ball for a dollar, remarkable value.

Well now you have me wondering if there are different versions of the 3PC because the V2 balls I have definitely look different and I posted a side by side pic in the test I did when I brought up durability concerns.

Edit to add the pic. As you can see, font looks a  little different and cover looks different.

That's if you have a 115MPH swing speed like Matty...

Is it just me or could they replace about 2/3 of their videos with a one-frame still photo of the speed/launch/spin results for all the clubs?

What exactly is the added value of seeing a sequence of video clips of him making amazingly repeatable nearly robot like swings at each ball?

The numbers pretty much speak for themselves but I guess you can't make a video from just one table of numbers without some filler.
