Who games 10+ year old irons?

Mizuno MP-60... Trying to look for a replacement as my MP-60 is getting worn down but still haven't found any irons that I like...

 

Edit: I am also using Titleist 909D2 and Titleist 909F2 18.5* fairway wood.

I rotate the bags of clubs I use. I have Infiniti IP-3 forged wedges, Wishon 919 driver and Adams A-4 Forged in play many times.

 

The A-4 will never be parted with. I will eventually re-shaft in stiff for my son as he loves the feel. He plays Wilson V-4 right now in stiff.

I have been using ping i3s since 2001/2002 but I am looking at finally upgrading this year. I am looking at ping i e1 or srixon z565.

Oh Lordy..................lol....................I am still playing Ping ISI-N from Circa 1995 I believe. I have tried newer models and just never anything that has made me switch.......even funnier is my wife is still using her set of Zings from 1992 or so.

I bought myself a used set of Taylor Made Burner irons in 1997 for $500.

 

They are currently in my bag.

 

I am probably going to replace them this year.

I love these irons, though I've never owned a set... what are you replacing them with? I'm thinking about going back to a mostly Ping bag this year... want to do a full custom fitting this summer (hopefully)

Titleist 735cm stainless finish. I've been using them for about 3 months. Blades 8-pw, muscle cavity 5-7, and less muscle cavity 3-4. I was using mizuno mx23 prior to the switch.

Taylor Made RAC LT with Mizuno MP-29s always threatening to go back into the bag. For the most part all my clubs are over 10 years old.

I would be if I could find a set. Most of the newer irons just feel weird to me! lol It might be cause last year was the first full year back into the game but I am not sure!

On my second set of 690.mb's. Played my first for seven years- close friend gave me his set he had in his basement that had been used for roughly a dozen rounds. So.. Set number two! Actually have a set of 681's at my father's home in Scottsdale that I haven't used in years after having them in the bag for two seasons. Should probably figure out what to do with those! :-)

 

681s rock. A shame they were never tested for the groove rule, that is why I switched to the 680s. I finally gave those up about 2 seasons ago when I switched to the 716mbs.

Presently gaming Ping Eye 2s from 1987... if not those I use 854s from the same era (87 or 88 not sure which) and last but certainly not least are a set of DCIs black 962s.... almost forgot.. when I am feeling like a change I pull out the TM 300 series forged irons... shafts a bit too stiff for my age but hey.... I try....

Have been playing MX-25 since 2009. Bought them used while I was in college. Just pulled the trigger on a set of AP3 irons. I expect to use them for 10+ years.

My back up is a set of 2001 Tommy Armor Evo II Forged Blades. They are what I primarily use to practice. I figure if I can hit them well everything else is childs play.

Ram Laser FX forged cavity back from roughly 1991. I keep buying new irons and keep going back. New irons hit the ball too far, I don’t need a 180 yard, 7 iron.

My oldest club I just returned to is a Wilson JP 55* sand wedge. Incredibly versatile club.

These and these. Edge Pro (2002) for Finland, Apex ’99 for the US. Both sets are 100% first line gamers, not just rotated in on occasion. Oddly enough, every club in my Finland bag is older than 10 years except for the 9 year old big bertha diablo hybrid...

1988 I got my first set of new golf clubs, an iron set of Wilson Staff Gooseneck. I was so very proud! :) I stuck with these clubs until early 2000 when I bought a new set of Nike Pro Combo. Then around 2011 I sold these because I hadnt played since around 2004, but every year from 2012 I would play a round or two with my old Gooseneck. Late 2017 I started playing more golf again and last year I bought a new set of Wilson Staff V4, which I really like...but man the feel of my old Gooseneck is still very tough to beat! :)
