Looking to get the combo set 4-5 z565 and 6-pw z765... Cannot decide on a shaft though. I went to a close store and I was hitting the JPX 900 forged and I was getting around 75mph swing speed with a 7 iron. average carry about 155.. So really looking for recommendation on stiff vs regular and what type of shaft.

Best thing to do is see a club fitter. It's much more than swing speed; tempo, release, etc.

Anyone on here playing 565/765 combo? I have their z65 4u. Ordered 5-6 565 and 7-P 765. Everything shafted for c taper 120 s. I know lofts have a little bit of discrepancy between models but curios if that is translating to a big gap when going from 6-7 iron for example in my case. I didn't change lofts on initial order so I can test myself. Just curious of any other experiences.

Don't want to complicate things for you, but I decided that as the 765 5 iron was very nice and pretty forgiving, I went u65 4i and then 765 5-pw. Very happy with that setup and the gapping is perfect.

Had my first hit out with 765 4-pw project lz 6.0 on Sunday and wow I love these irons!

I have come from Adams xtd forged with c Taper x which I loved but the shaft was a little too much for me and the cost of the lz shaft alone were worth more than the Adams!

I had a fitting spat out above set then I found the exact specs on eBay from a guy who played 6 rounds! My luck was in!

I need to have a look at the gapping and the lofts as I was hitting some long balls with the mid irons! All just some bedding in time I think! 83b43e38d0cd4d5b85e0f61123f7599f.jpg84358b2eb9885e39c7396daf08c043bd.jpgbc20283b5018bf745b379e3b95ea87ca.jpg2904d201d679d59e5bae63925f26a886.jpg

Safe to say I can't wait to get out again!

In your opinion, are these less forgiving than 716 ap2s ?

I'm also curious about their forgiveness also. I notice they don't have any tungsten like the AP2's. I like a lot of folks on here are kind of hung up on these two sets of irons plus some 900 forged and i200's and wonder how folks would determine most forgiving to least forgiving out of these sets

765 are the most forgiving, for sure, the 900 forged are second, the i200s are 3rd and the ap2 are at the bottom

Tungsten does not necessarily make an iron more forgiving, it's more for weighting purposes. I guess in some sense you could say it has to do with forgiveness. The Srixon's DO have tungsten weights in the toe section of the 3-6 irons. The Mizuno's do not at all. I really don't think there is going to be a great deal of difference in forgiveness between the JPX forged, AP2's and the 765/565. Just more looks, feel, and look at address. The sole design on the Srixon's is going to be the difference maker for most I think.

I would say the i200 are much bigger and more forgiving than the 765 or AP2. The AP2 and 765 are comparable. I have not hit the Mizuno. The AP2 launches higher than the 765. To get into the same "launch window" with the AP2 I had to have the lofts strengthened and have a heavier and stiffer shaft. It made it easy to like the 765 more than the AP2 for me.

66 with my beloved new irons and shaft combos in my woods this weekend. Even switched over to the XV a few weeks back. HCP has dropped from a 2.9 in Oct to zero since the transformation. I can't say enough good things about these irons.

Missed a 4 footer on last hole after a perfect 5 iron from 182. Great irons and a fantastic new ball.

Just had 4 holes with 3 balls per hole hitting only the new irons on every hole!

I like o do this as you quickly hit all the irons in your set!

I'm working on a few things in my swing at the moment to try and shallow out my angle of attack I'm not sure if it's the work Iv been doing or the sole design but boy my divots are straight flat and shallow the clubs feel great really pleased with the shaft and head combo!

It's blowing about 20mph tonight so judging distance was tough! That said these are Defo spinning less than my xtd forged! Had 189 into the wind tonight hit a low 5 iron and it pitched on the back of the green and ran 10 yards long!

I'm hopefully going to get a little more time on the course tomorrow night to stand and hit clubs from different yardages! I need my numbers nailed on as my team games start at the end of the month.

Are the Srixon 765 more comparable to the Mizuno JPX900 Tours or Forged forgiveness wise? Likewise, for Callaway, more comparable to Apex or Apex CF16?

Thanks!

I think they rival the Mizuno 900 forged for forgiveness. As for the apex series, I couldn't tell you for sure. I think the apex is closer to the 565... Someone that has hit all three should probably give you a better idea.

I apologize if this has been covered...

Can anyone comment on how the v sole performs with harder surfaces? The Texas muni fairways I play on get baked out and rock hard during the summer. I'm afraid the v sole will act like a high bounce wedge on hard pan and make me hit it thin. Lately I've taken to using a sharp leading edge and trying to pick it clean to avoid the variable of turf interaction all together.

Got a quick nine in with the new irons. The VT sole seems to perform from all lies. The course I was on has some dried out dirt patches and I had no issues going after the ball and making solid contact. The AW really impressed me. I got modus 120x despite being a mid low shaft and had no problems getting the ball airborne and the ball got through the wind without issues.

I play on a links course in the uk, so tight lies on hard fairways. I've loved the v sole and certainly wouldn't say that there is too much bounce - that said, they don't dig either! It's a very versatile sole and I think you'll see them on more and more sets of irons in the future as they are really effective.

I actually just played on a course here in Atlanta that had some bare spots and they still kick Word not allowed! As a matter of fact, I've been playing them for a couple of months (since before the grass started growing) so I've had a few bare spots and very tight lies I've dealt with and they were great off of all surface types I encountered.

Got another 7 holes in tonight with the 765 playing multiple balls on each hole from different yardages!

Still seeing a jump in yardage from my xtd forged! The flight is different as would be expected from c tapers in the xtd to the project lz

I would say I'm seeing more of a rainbow flight with the lz opposed to the flatter flight of the c Taper!

765 LZ combo looks like it is spinning less to me and I expect this is where the extra yards are coming from! Especially into wind these things are killer!

Really pleased so far! I'm hopefully out tomorrow for a few more holes or a gc2 session and then having 18 on Friday!

I play on baked Texas fairways and have nothing but praise for the 765 and the sole

That's encouraging. Little off topic, but just picked up a set of 545s and this was my biggest concern. Looking for a little more forgiveness as I don't get to play as much as I used to.

Love the look

Agreed. I also love the feel and performance.

I have a fitting in a few hours, so here's hoping I'll have these babies ordered by days end.

One decision I'm going back and forth on is ordering the matching AW vs gapping with an RTX-3...

Order is in!!!

z765's 4-AW w/ Project X LZ 6.5's and a couple of Cleveland wedges (56 & 62) to boot.

Was estimated at 4-weeks for delivery...

Had a fitting today and hit the 765 and Callaway Steelhead XR Pro (more foregiving) the best. Inclined to go Srixon. Little nervous they are too much club for me (15 index) but I think they are more a club I can grow into compared to the XR Pro. Fitted w/ C-Taper Lite X shaft. I tried the 565 but numbers werent as good.

I am a little surprised that a 15 Index is hitting the Z765 better than a way more forgiving club like the Z565 but I'll take your word for it because when I was a higher handicap I hated chunkier clubs especially wide soled clubs. Maybe spend some cash on a series of lesson and get the club face and impact fixed and you can bring your index down.
