Goals:

I have a few of them... I want to break 70. I also want to play at a high level and do so under pressure and while traveling. I love the game and playing at a higher level is what I work for every week. Headed to a traveling scratch for me!

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

Make sure that my equipment is optimized for my swing. I would hate to spend hundreds of hours per year training with my teacher and working on my game only to find out that I could have scored better if I was properly fit with the best gear.

Obviously being close to the Callaway headquarters, exclusive access, seeing the protos, fitted by the tour fitters, talking to the Cally team is nothing short of a dream trip.

A chance to get my $20 I lost to Jason Finley... well priceless. 5/5/5 autos on 2 JF. :butcher:

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017 - consistently break 90 and average below 85.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf - I've never been fit for golf. I've just been tinkering with shafts and clubheads myself and kinda going by feel/eye. I'd be interested to see how close I am. Also, I've seen video of the Ely Callaway Center and that place looks amazing!

Goals:

I want to get better overall - my driving inconsistencies have been killing me of late, as well as my putting and wedge play.

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

I haven't been fit for a while and I want to make sure that I am playing equipment that is maximized for my game.

I am a decent enough ball striker with my irons, but my wedge play and putting is horrible and holds me back - you don't want me in a 2 man scramble or to have a short Must Make Putt. I would love to get fit with the proper wedge grinds and bounce options for wedges.

I also want to make sure that I should have the correct putter in my hands for confidence - my putter feels like a snake right now - and it doesn't matter which putter I grab, that being said I would love to go on a Mills Odyssey... if that is really happening. I really would love to get myself in front of the likes of Mills, Toulon & Cleveland - or the specialists within Callaway to really figure out what is going on with my short game and find out what can be done to straighten me out.

Simply put - I want to go to the Best to be fit for the Best. Unfortunately, after being chosen for the ChromeSoft event in Chicopee and being unable to attend that event. Hopefully I am looking forward to maximizing my game with Callaway this time around!

Current USGA handicap: 17.5

State the goals for your golf game in 2017: lower my handicap by at least 3 strokes, by driving straighter, and, improved short game

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: It's all expenses paid! The weather should be great. And, a full bag fitting, might mean, that I would finally learn how far(or short) I hit all of my clubs.

  • Current USGA handicap: 2.5
  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017: My goals for 2017 is to become more consistent. In 2016, I had too many rounds where I would play well for 9 holes and then struggle for 9 holes. I would like in 2017 to have cleaner rounds and avoid costly mistakes that lead to doubles or worse. Also in 2017 I would like to clean up my putting and my long game. The driver is usually something I lean on to help a round, this past year I was very inconsistent. It caused numerous changes in my bag as far as drivers go. I would like to settle on something I know is right, and I know its me not the clubs fault.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: I have always wanted to visit a headquarters. See the the inter-workings on how things are made and the testing. Also, I have never properly been fit for anything in my bag. I think the a proper fitting would greatly increase the likelihood of my reaching my goals in 2017.

Get back to consistency. After being away from the game for 10 years, Shooting consistently in the 68-75 range.

I have done the fitting process before and the information you take away about yourself and your swing is priceless. It has helped my game immensely. Any opportunity I have to improve upon that, I am in. And get a chance to see what Callaway is all about. Had a few clubs over the years but not a ton. My first driver was an original GBB. Might be swayed to coming home.

Golf Australia handicap- 6.0 (I believe this is the same as a USGA 6 handicap)

Goals for 2017- reduce handicap to 2.0, be eligible fo my club's pennant team and to break 70 again. (Did it once 10 years ago)

Why do I want to take up this opportunity-

I'm a HUGE Callaway fan and I know they have some incredible facilities, the staff are top notch and the equipment is nothing but exceptional. Having access to this sort of experience would mean I know my equipment is perfectly fitted and my scores will reflect that.

Being able to see the protos and meet the R&D Team would be awesome!

Thanks Callaway and Golf WRX for the opportunity to enter!

Goals:

I have a few goals for the new season.. while i have been improving i have still never broken par, I would like to break Par at my home course. Also i aslo fell like to do that i need to improve my GIR and my ball striking.. i plan on upping my lessons to try and accomplish that goal. I am also hoping to qualify for all the A level events at my club ( sub 5 HC needed). Finally i am hoping to have a fun year and grow my enjoyment of the game

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

I have always been a Titleist homer and primary played titlist equipment but i have been getting itchy feet to try something different . Most recently Callaway Golf's has really peaked my interest and i have loved their last few lines. I have never been fitted outside of a titleist center and i would love opportunity to be fit professionally at the center.

Lastly the trip would be over the top exciting and nothing short of a dream come true and a wonderful opportunity to meet some Golfwrx members.

  • Current USGA handicap (or average 18 holes score) No official index, probably about 8, average score around 78.
  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017 - I achieved my goal of an even par round on 18 this year just a few weeks ago. I am looking for more consistency in 2017, hoping to improve driving - ball striking - and short game. I want to find the 60's.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf - I have become a pretty massive fan, playing the SZ, 816 FWY, 815 hybrids, Odyssey putter, and have MD3 set, but testing new forged wedges. I have been one really interested in a new MB, and new tech from the SZ in woods. I WANT AN "O" WORKS.....LOL. I have also never had a true bag fitting, just one mediocre driver fitting that was not very informative. This would be my DREAM TRIP! I have also never been to California in my life.

Thanks Callaway and WRX, another amazing opportunity.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017 - Find more consistency off the tee. Tracking my rounds this year has shown that I lose so many strokes off the tee.

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf - I have never been fit for clubs before and feel it would help me find some more information about my game. It would also be a chance for me to return to an all Callaway bag (my first full set was all Callaway). I am currently using an Odyssey putter and MD2 wedges, Callaway is slowing taking over my bag from the bottom up. I have also turned into an equipment geek thanks to golfwrx and would love to bounce questions off the R&D staff.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017 - I want to work on lowering my handicap and more consistently break 80. I also want to work on my tempo and swing plane with my driver to become more consistent.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf - I think getting properly fit is 100% one of the most important starting points for becoming a better golfer. If you aren't playing with properly fit equipment, you are automatically NOT going to play to your potential right off the bat. I have had the chance to meet a few of the Callaway guys over the years and must say, they are a cool bunch of guys. I think it would be the ultimate experience to go get fit by the best, into some of the most exciting equipment out there. Back when I started golfing, I started with all Callaway set, and continue to be drawn to their releases. Callaway is just an all around fun, and innovative company that pushes the limits on improving whats on the market, but they also do this in a fun way. I would LOVE to game a full bag of Callaway again. Bottom line, Callaway just adds such a coolness or excitement factor to the sport. Thanks for the opportunity!

  • To see the technology put into these new builds, I've never been officially been fit for clubs. It's been a life long dream to be fitting for new sticks based off my numbers and swing. I've been a big fan growing up of Callaway; gaming the Hawkeye's and Steelheads. Hopefully this dream comes true.
  • I would love the opportunity to ask questions about current builds of the XR16's, Fusion and the Apex irons. Very intrigued by the technology put into golf clubs over the past 10 years and what Callaway does to be a continued leader of Golf Equipment. Being able to visit Callaway HQ....are you kidding!?!? Kid in a candy store. I don't think I would blink the whole trip. Lastly, this would be a great opportunity to talk shop with members from this community . I love this place; it's my staple when I need golf swing tips, equipment or just to talk about life.

Current USGA Handicap: No official handicap, but unofficial handicap is a 12. Average score around 84-88

Goals in 2017: I'm looking to build consistency and improvement into my game. I broke 80 twice in 2016, but also struggled in some rounds as well. In 2017, I also hope to find a home club and begin to participate in club events and meet others within the game around me. I hope to continue to improve the game to where I'm scoring in the 70s consistently each and every round. I'm hoping to improve my course management, being able to aggressively play the conservative shot each and every time. I'm also hoping to get back into competitive play. I haven't played tournaments for a few years now, but since I'm a few years out of school, I finally have the time to dedicate to the game. I also hope to introduce some people to the game, and hopefully develop a love of golf in them and in young people around the area with the First Tee program.

State Why you'd want to attend: I've become a true Callaway fan. The technology and innovation each and every year from Callaway's releases continues to excite me, and shows a true push forward for the game. While other companies continue to change, cut back, etc, Callaway proves its leadership and standing in the game, continuing to be the #1 Iron in Golf, and building some of the best drivers out there. I'd really like to see the behind-the-scenes infrastructure, R&D, and logistics that go into producing products for the golf industry, both the retail sector and the tour sector. I'd like to be able to compare my current Callaway set-up (816 Alpha DBD, 815 Alpha Fairways, Apex HYB, Apex Pro Irons, and MD3 wedges) to the up-and-coming releases (can you say Steelhead XR Pro Irons!) and continue to maximize my game with Callaway technology. I've been fit to my current set-up, but want to continue to maximize my game. Finally, I'd love to give back to the community here with reviews and product demos. So much of my game and what I do has been because of the GolfWRX community. I'd love to be able to answer questions and give feedback to community members. And I'd like to meet others in the community as well. It would be a dream trip.

Current index - 14.1

Sole goal for 2017 - get index back into single digits

Why am I interested in the visit - Last winter I was fit for XR, non-pro irons. They are far and away the most forgiving irons I've ever played in nearly 45 years of golf. Despite limited playing and practicing this year, irons play has been a strength and the technology in the XR's has maximized my fault filled swing. Off center hits rarely lose any distance and the XR's led me to winning our season long, FedEx style competition. I'm intrigued to see if I'd experience the same benefit moving to Cally hybrids and woods.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

  • Current USGA handicap: 14.1
  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017

  1. Lower my scoring average 7 strokes. Over the course of 2016 my Scoring Average went up from 85.8 to 88.9. I would like to knock off the 3 strokes I gained and 4 additional strokes to be consistently shooting in the high 70's/low 80s which is where I feel my game should be based on the amount that I am able to practice and play.
  2. Improved putting numbers, putting has always been a sore spot for my game. I was able to knock 3 strokes per round on average off of my putts per round but I would love to see that number drop further as I am still around 35 putts per round.
  3. Play more golf on the course, this is a goal for me every season and every season I only end up with about 30 rounds due to the shortened Michigan season. I feel like I spend more time practicing on the range because it is more convenient however I feel to help my scores, playing more on course golf versus golf swing on the driving range would be beneficial.
  4. More consistency with my clubs. I felt like I tinkered so much in 2016 that I wasn't confident in what every club was doing. I was guessing at a lot of my yardages with my irons and wedges and bouncing clubs around all the time between my 4 wood and my 6 iron. There was never anything set in my bag and thus I could never trust anything.

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: I would love the oppourtunity to attend this exclusive event as I have been a Callaway fan for a long time and want to see them succeed. I even purchased several Callaway clubs this year based on third party reviews and feedback on this site along with watching all of the Callaway videos on their YouTube channel whenever a new product is released. Unfortunately I made the mistake of not being properly fit for my Apex CF16 irons, and they might not have been the best choice for me. I wanted to make them work, playing 15 rounds with them but unfortunately they just didn't. I won a set of Cobra Forged Tec Irons that immediately knocked the Apex CF16s out of the bag as they were more consistent and produced a better ball flight for me which is a shame based on all of the positive reviews on this site. I did add 2 PM wedges (64 and 60) which have been great additions and I am getting tons of spin with them but I am too gun shy to pull the trigger on a full set of Callaway wedges after my experience with the CF16's; it's hard to steer away from my tried and true Vokey's. Also, I'd be almost interested to see if Callaway has anything in house that can knock my G Driver out of the bag, I feel like I tried almost everything this year and nothing came close to the consistency, ball flight and distance I got out of my G series driver, so much so that I blind bought a G series 4 wood and loved it for the same reasons I love the Driver.

I've loved Callaway products, however I've never found the right pairing of shaft to Callaway head. I'd love to be properly fit for Callaway equipment b/c I truly believe top-to-bottom of the bag they make the best in the business; especially their woods, muscle back and cavity back players irons, and wedges. I believe that if fit properly, I have all the motivation and work ethic needed to accomplish my 2017 goals.

My ultimate goal for 2017 is to have a single digit hcp for the whole season like I was about 10 years ago. I figure it would require me to eliminate about 5 strokes per round.

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf
I can shoot in the low 80s (and in the 30s for 9) but I haven't been able to do it consistently lately. The last time I was playing consistently like that, I had just been fit for my irons (2007). Lately, I'll have a mental blowup hole or I'll buy new clubs and lose confidence so the whole round suffers. Since I've updated my clubs since my last fitting, in the back of my mind, there's always a thought about whether the club or my swing is to blame for my play (probably a combination of both really). Being fit at Callaway would be an unbelievable opportunity to 1) ensure all my clubs were the right clubs for my game; and 2) help me achieve my goal eliminating one concern/cause of my poor play.

I also think it would be great to see what goes into manufacturing clubs, balls, etc from all aspects.

USGA index:

12

Goals:

I want to improve my ball striking. I feel my woods are the only solid/consistent part of my game and miss more greens than I feel I should. Need to improve upon feeling confident and having a consistent stroke on the putting surface.

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

I want to see what it feels like to be treated like a tour pro and see the tech and work that goes into creating amazing golf clubs. Always get a little jealous of these trips that fellow WRXers get to go on and dream of what it would have been like if I could have been one of the lucky ones.

Really to be fit by the best to get the most out of my game and learn a little. Love learning new things (especially about golf and golf equipment).

I look at putters more than any other club, but have not purchased a putter because I'm afraid it wont fit my stroke and end up costing me strokes. The putter is the one club in my bag that I have the least amount of confidence and would hope a fitting would greatly improve this. Also wouldn't mind looking at all the Odyssey models and protypes that are stashed away.

Improve driving consistency and wedge game. Also, zero 3-putts in 2017.

Have not had a full bag fitting to help close distance gaps/overlaps. Also would love to make sure that my wedges/short irons are fit for my game.

Current Handicap: 3.5

2017 Goals: Improve on my consistency. At times I can play great golf, but I would like to continue that consistency. Also... shoot in the 60's.

Why I'd want to attend?: Love Callaway products. Would really like to experience the full Callaway treatment first hand. Plus I am under 5 feet of snow already in December. Golf won't be a reality for 5 months or so. It would be nice to get some swings in.

State the goals for your golf game in 2017

I have great distance, especially in my driver and 3-wood and low irons. I want to maintain these distances while improving accuracy. My scoring varies between 75 on accurate days and 82 on less than accurate days. Short game is fine, but would likely benefit from lower launching wedges as during windy play short irons can lack consistency.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf

I currently play Titleist and TM. Many years ago I was a Cally loyalist with the woods especially. I have tried and tried to get back into Cally woods. My playing partners play Cally woods and irons, and I have tinkered, but always end back up where I started. I want to be proven wrong!!

Super cool giveaway!!

  • Current USGA handicap: 8.9
  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017: More consistency, eliminate double bogeys, more birdies.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: I've always been primarily a feel player and have likely adapted my game to my equipment. A swing analysis and proper club fitting would prove to be an enlightening experience.
