Current USGA handicap- 1.0

State the goals for your golf game in 2017- I'd like to start competing at a higher level again. I played my last year in college and really enjoyed the competitive environment of those tournaments and would like to experience that feeling again. I'd like to improve my iron play and my putting, two areas of my game which have plagued me for the past few years and have prevented me from really breaking through to shooting lower scores consistently. I'd also like to play more often and try and find time to just enjoy walking around the golf course, something I haven't been doing as much the past few years.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: What an opportunity it would be to be able to go and witness the inner workings of one of the biggest and most respected brands in the industry. Obviously it would be amazing to experience a true professional fitting at Callaway HQ and leave with the confidence that what I have in my bag truly is the right set of clubs. It would also be a great opportunity to bring along the rest of the WRX forum members. Like so many of us on here I was scouring the previous Nike trip forums and really appreciated the photos, testimonials and experiences that the members described. If I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to represent the WRX community I would consider it my obligation to provide as much content documenting the trip as possible both to justify my selection and to inform and hopefully entertain everyone following the experience on the forums.

  • Get my handicap back to a 12 and be more consistent across all my clubs (although hosestly the consistency is probably my swings)

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf

  • I have been shopping for new clubs for the last few months and would love the opportunity to be fit - I am playing irons that are 13 years old and could use some updated gear (especially free - gotta kid in college)
  • I have always been fascinated by the science and tech side of golf.
  • It would make my Callaway breathing brother-in-law jealous (his dream job is the be a Callaway Rep)

USGA index:

Goals:

I'd like to break par this year. I haven't done so in the last 5 years. I've gotten really close but haven't been able to finish out strong.

Also, I'd like to perform better in tournaments. This was my first full year with a mens club and I played decently enough. I'd like to be able to consistently perform at a higher level.

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

It would be nice to be properly fit for golf clubs. I've only been fit once before but wasn't able to actually purchase the clubs because of the extraordinary cost involved. It would be nice to see how well I'd be able to play if I actually had clubs that fit me vs working with whatever discount clubs I could find.

Goals: I am finally going to have time to truly practice next year and I want to make a run at the state am.

Why this trip: I am an engineer who has always wanted to see what happens behind the scenes at a club manufacturer. To do this at Callaway would be amazing, Callaway was the brand that brought me into golf. I will never forget the day my uncle gave me his old Warbird driver, it was my first good club and I caught the bug as a result of using that club.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017 This was a year of struggles with my golf game. For 2016 I had set out to achieve my goal of breaking 80 and getting down to at least a 10 hcp. I was striking the ball well at the beginning of the season. But completely lost in the middle. I want to improve and need to improve.

My 2017 Goals are to qualify and compete in the USGA and FSGA Mid Amateur Championship. I also want to really work on my short game (inside of 100 yards). I feel like if I can spend a little more time my score would become so much more consistent.

Why would I want to attend this exclusive fitting at Callaway? The better question would be, why wouldn't I? It's not often that you get to see behind the curtain of the top manufacturer in this global game. Getting fit by the best in the industry, to play what I feel is the best equipment all around, is an opportunity that I would be grateful to partake in. Also this would be my first opportunity to get to play golf in the state of California. I have read how fun and exciting these trips are and would love the opportunity to experience it first hand.

Goals for your golf game in 2017

I broke 90 for the first time this summer (85) after playing for 3 years. Next year I'd like to continue that trend and want to shoot even lower. Hoping to get down into the low 80's and my specific goal is to break 40 over 9 holes. Consistency is the thing that keeps me from getting there right now. Hitting fairways has been a real struggle - also, I'm a master at attempting chip/pitch/flop shots but executing delightful bladed over-the-green past-the-pin into-the-sand shots instead.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf

As consistency has been an issues for me recently I think that a fitting is the ideal way to identify what part of my game needs to be improved, and what part of my bag needs to be adjusted. I like to tinker with my clubs, adjusting loft/lie/shafts and so on, and the GolfWRX community has been a wonderful guiding resource - giving options and providing advice. A comprehensive overview, evaluation, and fitting by the professionals at Callaway would help me fill in the gaps in my personal understanding of golf equipment, and give me best possible platform to build on. Getting the opportunity to pick the brains of some of the best in golf would be amazing, I'm ready to absorb any and all golf strategy that's on hand as well. ;)

  • Handicap: 11

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017: My goal is to drive with more consistency and gain extra distance to improve my gap between 3 wood and Driver. Additionally, my wedge game needs impact improvement and distance control on 3/4 and full shots.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: I'd like to attend the event as I started my golf life playing the original Big Bertha irons....which I bagged for almost 10 years and have moved away and come back to the brand multiple times, most recently having the 2013 x forged irons. I play the Razr Fit Xtreme and haven't found another product, Callaway or otherwise, giving me better performance on a flight monitor indoor but lack of consistency in real world, on course performance. Ultimately my goal of attending is to get dialed in to new equipment by a trusted resource to maximize my potential for the next few years.

I would like to go to the callaway event to have my equipment checked and make sure it is what I should

be hitting. I also need to see if my swing is on plane and my numbers and angles are correct in the swing. I am a 9 handicap and would very much like to get down to 4 or 5 in the up coming season. I need to have more consistency and better direction. I think callaway could help me reach my goals in these areas. So I would very much like to go and participate in this epic event My name is Dan and I am from Winchester In.

  • Would like to get handicap to below 5 after taking the last year off so I am confident enough to enter tournaments (County Open, amatuers, etc.)
  • I currently have a mixed bag (including a 60* MD2 wedge, Apex UT 18*, and orginal White Hot #1) and I am due for new equipment. If I were to go to one manufacturer I would have to choose Callaway due to their inovation the last few years. I am an R&D Engineer by trade so I love the idea of the workshop and trying out prototypes. Also would be the first time I've been completely fitted for a new bag. Thanks for the great contest!

  • I love playing competitive golf. I played Division I golf at Seton Hall University and have continued playing some tournaments since college. This past year I joined a local country club and am looking to really get back into the swing of things this upcoming year. My goals are to qualify for the NJ Am, MGA Ike, MGA Am and haveat least one top ten finish. Qualify for either the USGA Am or Mid-Am and make it to USGA Open Sectionals. There are also several local invitational tournaments, of which I have three currently on my schedule and I am aiming for at least one top-five finish. Lastly, my ultimate goal is to be invited to play on the NJ State team and MGA team in local/international team events.

  • I want to attend this opportunity because I love the theory behind club fitting. During the summers in between college seasons I used to work as a fitter for PING and love to optimize my clubs. I feel my club and shaft selections are close but my bag is now several generations old and I am incredibly interested in learning about new technology available and would love a chance to learn from the best.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017 - my number one goal for the last 10 years has been to break 70. i'm fairly consistent, but have never been quite able to get there. i thought 2016 was gonna be the year but some non-golf stuff got in the way.

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf - i believe my game is representative of a lot of weekend players. i'm decent off the tee, not too long, not too wild. decent with irons and short game. i'm just lacking that consistency that would let me take it to the next level. i've never been professionally fitted. i've dabbled with some of callaway's clubs in the past, but haven't updated my bag in some years now (mizuno mp 33s and a 5 year old titleist driver currently). i'd be really excited to see what gains i could make in distance, accuracy and consistency with a professionally fitted set of new clubs. thanks for the opportunity. also, my birthday is december 13...so there's that too.

Handicap with NCGA is 5.6

Goals for 2017- Improve my sand game, his is an area I struggle in. I would also like to improve my ball striking. For a data goal I would like my 2017 tournament year scoring average below 80. 2016 was 81.6.

I want to take up this opportunity to know I am fit perfectly for clubs that will suit my game. I have been fit before but the experience was not great. I was handed a six iron (my least favorite iron and only option they had available) and they just changed shafts and heads and looked at trackman data. Based these shots they recommend a set of clubs. The process went very quickly and was expensive. Because of this experience I am not sold on the fitting processes but maybe Callaway can change my mind.

Also being able to see the protos and work with the R&D Team would be great.

Thanks Callaway and Golf WRX for the opportunity.

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

I got fit this year for my irons, and while they are not Callaway I gained distance and accuracy. I would like to see if this trend can continue throughout my entire bag after being fit at Callaway. ----

USGA index:

3.2 (However, that's only 4 rounds added. I shoot a few over par up to low 80's)

Goals:

Consistency, consistency, consistency! (And stop being a club ho)

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

Three main reasons.

#1) The last Callaway driver I gamed was in high school - the original Great Big Bertha and Biggest Big Bertha (I loved them!) So, honestly, throughout the years, I've never really gamed Callaway items or clubs. I would love to see how their technology can improve my game to become more consistent. However, the proto irons have always made me drool... It would be cool to go outside my norm for a new company to see all their offerings - I'm sure I would pleasantly surprised. (I mean, they gotta be good for a fellow ASU alumni like Phil ;))

#2) To be properly fitted. Luckily I've worked at golf courses when I was younger so I was able to play and practice all the time (which made me a "decent" golfer). However, I've NEVER been properly fitted with clubs. Not once. I feel like proper fitting would drastically impact my game for the better. To be fit for a full 14 clubs would be amazing. Also, with my OCD, having a full matching set would be splendid as well. (I have to match everything, it's my OCD and with this opportunity, I can once and for all be fit correctly and have a full matching set and never worry about "switching it up").

#3) Honestly, I would love to just have an experience like this to tell my son (something "cool" that dad was fortunate enough to be a part of). I would love a little vacation to get away (Lord knows I need it). I love exploring and seeing new places but seldomly get to. This would help me mentally as well - to clear my mind and "recharge my battery." It would give me the opportunity to take a little break, meet new people, and step outside of my robotic norm for a few days. It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity that I would NEVER forget!

Goals:

My goals for 2017 are to get back into playing tournaments golf, break par consistently and play more golf. Having a family, including a newborn, it was very hard to play golf in 2016. Really looking forward to working on my game and meeting my expectations for 2017.

Custom fit by callaway:

I currently play Callaway products and I am very impressed with what they offer. I have never been custom fit or even put on a launch monitor. I have custom fit myself, but only going by arm length, height and how I swing. It would be very interesting to see what my numbers look like and how they compare to the better players. Also, I would like to see how a custom fitting could improve my golf game. I hear how important it is and would like to see that happen.

Thanks!

Handicap: Non-official since I am not in a club but it calculates to 14.3

Goals for 2017: Join a club, get my cap official and under 10. Earn my first hole-in-one and/or eagle.

Why I want to attend: The chance to be fitted at a top of the line center with a premier manufacturer feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity. I also love trying out new tech (don't we all). Also, being able to play golf in December away from the ice and snow of my home area sounds just lovely.

USGA INDEX: +1.4

GOALS: Win Club Championship. I am 38 years old and have been lucky/fortunate/blessed to have won our club championship 11 times which I'm extremely proud of. But with age, our 1st child and a 40+ hour a week desk job the game had eroded some and became less consistent compared to my glory years and for the last 5 years the youngins have been beating up on me. I rededicated myself last year and I was extremely close this year losing in the championship match 3&2. Don't get me wrong, I want to show the young bucks that I can still bring it but my main motivation is to show my 5 year old son that I can still bring it and have him celebrate one more win with 'ol' pop.

Why do I want to go and be fit by Callaway:

To be honest I need every advantage that I can have and the hope is that if I'm fitted for my equipment and all my tools are optimized just for me then maybe, just maybe, that would give me just the little bump I need to get me to that finish line one more time. And also just because I'm a gear head and it would be amazing to see Callaway HQ and all the gadgets and just have that "kid in a candy store" feeling.
