Goals: 2017

My simple goals would be to continue to keep playing at the same level I have been even at the age of 52 and continuing to qualify for the MN State AM, Players Championship as well as the MN state Mid Am...even against the "young guns" :superman: My bigger goals are to qualify for the the US Senior open & US Mid Am.

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

Having played this game now for 48 years, It might just be time to get fit properly. I've always felt that I know best, but a few new life teaching moments have put me in a place where I may not always have the right answer.

Not One club in my bag has ever been a Callaway product...(plenty of balls though, in fact my first City championship was with a Callaway ball) ...I'm willing to let go and follow for a change. If they can fit me and allow me the chance to better my game, I'd be over the top happy to let them.

Meeting some more WRX's and the Callaway staff would be icing on the cake.

I just left the golf industry after 8 years, so I do not have an established handicap. I would say my average score is between 74 and 78. My golf goals for 2017 are to see if I can get back to enjoying this game I have loved for so long. I fight a terrible hook and would love to work that out and get my distance numbers back up to where they should be. I was the clubfitter at my club, and have seen what properly fit Callaway equipment can do. I was on staff with a different company, so I was never able to enjoy the fruits of Callaway equipment, but I did sell an untold number of Apex and XR product. While in the business I attended a Callaway event at TopGolf. Some of the R&D staff were there, and it was the most enjoyable product event I have ever attended. The engineers touched on why some things were this way or that way. That insight into what truly goes into this stuff was extremely benficial. Thank You!

Goals:

Kids now off to college and game has been suffering a bit the last 5-6 years, at age 54 it's starting to go south...short game is atrocious....costing me 3-5 strokes a round or more...seem to add on at least a couple penalty strokes off tee. Goals for 2017 are improve short game..mainly the 60 yards and in stuff. Also must improve my driving stats and keep ball in play. Want to get back to the 1-3 cap days and finally have some time to commit to achieving that

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

I've run large golf league in Seattle for 20 years now...300 plus players playing nine holes after work. I've seen firsthand how newer technology can help improve a persons game when they commit to getting their equipment optimized. As an old dog I've been reluctant to change as my equipment has been "working" yet whenever I hit someones newer technology clubs from my league I mutter to myself..."I gotta make some changes-this is too easy". This is the ideal opportunity for me to accomplish that...promote the Callaway product and fitting program to my clients and likely improve my play. Of course a few days out of gloomy December Seattle wouldn't suck either...:o)

Goals for 2017

There is a lot I would like to accomplish in 2017, starting with breaking 70. I am going to start playing tournament golf this winter, and to have confidence in my equipment.

Why I want to get fit at Callaway

I have turned into an equipment junkie and love learning about different equipment and how it will affect my game, knowing that having the correct equipment for me will help me elevate my game and allow me to shave those last strokes off. I am also a high school golf coach, and having this experience would I feel help me teach my players the ins and outs of equipment and what to look for when upgrading.

Thank you Golfwrx and Callaway for this awesome opportunity!

Goals for 2017: I put a lot of work into 2016 to try and get my handicap down and be more consistent with the overall goal to break 80. I struggled with consistency but I did break 80 for the first time. It felt great, but now I want to stay there and consistently put up sub-80 rounds. This year I lowered my handicap a bit from the mid-12's to the mid-10's. For 2017, I want to lower it to single digits. I also need to improve my driving, chipping and putting. I feel like I'm so close!

Why do I want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf?

For those of us that are always working to get better, an opportunity like this shouldn't be taken lightly. I started playing seriously about 3 years ago and have struggled with the delicate balance of family, budgets, work and time as most people do. I'd love to have the feeling of total confidence in my equipment instead of standing over the ball knowing I'm not going to be able to stop this shot on the green. I've read and watched videos about the fitting center and would be absolutely thrilled to attend. Golf has the tendency to be a bit exclusive and out of reach for most people. Whether it's equipment, fittings, lessons, green fees etc, golf is a problematic and costly addiction so I'm glad Callaway is offering this up to the average Joe. If I were to be selected I guarantee it would not be wasted.

State the goals for your golf game in 2017

My goals for 2017 are

  • Goal is to achieve a handicap of <= 11 by end of year 2017
  • Focus on each shot, work on the mental aspects of the game
  • Join a league and play at some of the best golf courses in and around northern California
  • Keep working on my swing, so that it is not "long" on the back swing, have been working on this by practicing 2 times a week at the range. This is helping me generate better swing speed and I can see that I am almost a club longer now.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf

I would love to experience a professional level fitting at Carlsbad and get fitted for the complete set. I believe the fitting alone would make me drop 2 strokes in my handicap at least, getting me closer to my 2017 goal. Driver fitting is something that will help me a lot to maximize my distance potential.

Visiting San Diego again, will be great and I am sure my family is going to want to tag along and have a vacation while I am busy getting fitted and playing :)

Currently using Callaway Apex 2014 irons with recoil shafts, Driver, Fairway and Hybrids are Titleist.

As I have never been fitted before, I had to fit myself to all the above equipment over the last 2 years and it still does not feel right. Looking forward to getting fit by one of the best fitting institutes in the world and have no more excuses for buying new equipment for some time :)

USGA Handicap-2.4

Goals for 2017- By the end of 2017 I am planning on being at least a Level 2 PGA Apprentice. I also want to shoot under par for the first time.

Why I want to go-Callaway is one of my favorite brands and I feel they are are the leader in irons and putters. I also like what Callaway has been doing with their new clubs recently and with Toulon joining Odyssey I am looking forward to what they will do together. Lastly I have never been fit for an entire set of clubs. It would be nice to have all of my equipment fit to me.

Goals:

  • I want to qualify for the second time in a row for the Washington State Amateur
  • Improve my consistency in the following areas such that I can play to a 2 index:
    • Driving accuracy
    • Chipping and pitching proximity to hole
    • three putt avoidance

[*]Learn how to the play the 'game' of golf, as opposed to simply hitting shots around the golf course

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

Like most sons of golfing fathers, all of my clubs have been hand-me-downs. I recently was given a set of Protoype blades and immediately fell in love with the clubs. I've always hit blades but the feeling the protos provided was so much more powerful and pure than my MP63s I was playing. I love golf for a lot of reasons, but there truly is nothing more pleasurable for me than the feedback that shoots up from the face of the club through the shaft and into your hands from a purely struck iron. More than any iron I've played, the protos provided the cleanest and most forceful feedback.

I have only ever been fit for a driver shaft, which was just a few weeks ago, and the results on my game were immediate. I went from struggling with a power fade that often missed as a slice, to a baby draw with a penetrating ball flight and 1,000 less spin rate RPMs. Given how much I've enjoyed playing a randomly fit set of Callaway irons and how much of an impact a well fit shaft has made on my driver, I can only imagine how much more fun the game will be with a properly fit Callaway bag. In addition to making the game more fun, having properly fitting equipment will help me achieve my 2017 goals by allowing me to focus on my game and not second guess whether I have the right equipment.

Thank you for the opportunity

Dylan

Goals for My Game in 2017:

I would like to be more consistent with my game and have confidence knowing my expectations and limitations for all 14 clubs in my bag.

Why Do I Want To Go and Be Fit at Callaway:

I currently play all Callaway woods, irons, wedges and a odyssey putter. However, I would like to have my full set fitted to match my game in order to achieve my goals above instead of having to adjust my game to match the clubs. This would help reach my goals above by being more efficient with my game thru shaft optimization as well as lie and loft evaluations throughout the entire set in order to give me the confidence and enjoyment to play this game well into the future. It would also be an honor to visit and see the facility of one of the world's greatest golf manufacturers as well.

Goals:

  • Single digit handicap
  • consistently move the ball both way

Why do I want to participate in the Callaway Fitting Event:

For years I didn't hit a driver. I had a very steep swing and could hit a 3-wood far enough that I didn't lose significant distance to my driver, while being much more consistent. I've been working on flattening out my swing to allow myself to work the ball better and get a more consistent, and repeatable ball flight. I've played around with a few drivers over the past few years and haven't found a comfort level with one where I felt that I could depend on one consistent flight, let alone being able to fade or draw it as well. Also, I've never had a full custom fitting, a process which I believe could be just as informative at how I can improve as the clubs would be beneficial to improving my game.

BTW, I plan on trying to play Seamstrong in December, so Callaway could help a schlub like me conquer those two courses.

Kyle.

My current handicap is the highest it has been since I started keeping a handicap over 20 years ago. I've been between a 2 and 5 for the last 8 years (since my daughter was born), but over the last year or so I've been fighting the yips. This battle has slowly crept into the rest of my game, mostly from a mental standpoint where I'm putting more pressure on myself to get the ball closer to the hole. Over the last month, I've had some success with a modified claw on putts inside 8 feet. For 2017, my goal is to stay committed to the Claw and establish a better/consistent pre-shot routine thru the bag in order to try and get past some of the mental anxiety and free myself up. My ball striking has improved a bit since getting some good results with the claw. Go figure. I feel like I need to stay committed to what I'm doing and be patient in regards to seeing improved results.

Callaway's Fitting Opportunity would help add confidence to my game. I've never been truly fit for all clubs in my bag, so having the knowledge and confidence that my equipment is tuned specifically for me would help improve my mental outlook for 2017 and beyond. Dedicating money on my own for such an endeavor is beyond my means. Plus, it would negatively affect the amount of golf I could actually play. An opportunity like this would be truly special.

Thanks Callaway and Golfwrx so much for this opportunity. Some members are going to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Goals:

I want to make my game more repeatable with less practice time. I want to get back to expecting 75s on normal days with the potential to shoot even par any given day. I want to eliminate big misses and economize my game.

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

I want to figure out what setup has the most benefit for me, especially involving wedges. Callaway makes amazing wedges, and I want to learn the best approach from the people who deal with it every day. I'd love their help with gapping, and see what their solution would be for that 3w to 4i gap. Obviously their drivers are outstanding, and I would love a chance to hit several different heads with shafts that maximize my attack.

  4. Break low score of 66

Despite playing +100 rounds per year, I've never been fit for clubs. I measured my arm hang once and estimated that I needed +1/2" in my irons. I have a quick tempo, so I assumed DG X100s and X-Flex shafts would be suitable in all my clubs. I have standard lie angles in all my clubs, but I think I need more upright lie angles in my irons (as my divots are always slightly deeper on the toe side). Again though, these are all guesses. This would be a wonderful opportunity to finally get fit for clubs and KNOW I have the right tools fit for my game.

Goals:

I want to get my GHIN handicap down to +4, improve my accuracy with mid and long irons where I'm giving myself better looks at birdie on intermediate and longer Par 4's, and I want to finish Top 10 in next year's State Amateur tournament.

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

Because I've never been properly fitted with someone who's concerned about the details. Due to my location in somewhat rural Alabama, I've never been able to get fitted by someone other than the big box store with limited options. Would love to be able to do a proper fitting with all of the custom aftermarket shafts. Very likely could be the exact thing I need to dial my game in to get to a +4 handicap. Over the last few years, I've had great success with Callaway woods and know that the Callaway Apex style irons would fit my game as well.

2017 Goals: get down to a 10, be more consistent scoring wise (my range is 80-100 this year and need to tighten it up), play more competitive rounds after a disastrous first ever attempt in the club championship this year

I would really like to attend just to see the inner workings of one of the biggest brands in the business. I've heard so many cool things (aside from the prizes haha) about these trips and I would love to be a part of that. Also forming relationships with other wrxers and the people who make the clubs. I bought my first callaway driver recently and it is very good. Just wish it was more quiet. Wedges are always really good. The only thing I feel they are lacking is an iron set I can get on board with. Prove me wrong/convince me?

thanks for the opportunity and if I get picked great! if not, that's ok and look forward to hearing about it :)

Forever Changing at this point.......

Goals for my game in 2017:

1) to work on balance and strength so as to head off the effects of aging on my game.

2) to play a greater variety of golf courses, other than my home course. This will require sharpening my judgement when faced with shots and conditions I do not usually experience.

Why I would like to attend this opportunity:

1) I have never had a comprehensive fitting. I am sure that will help me to improve my game, especially with regard to my balance and strength goals.

2) About half my bag is Callaway. I have heard of their facility but never been there, despite the fact that I live somewhat near. This would be something I would rate as one of my most special golf experiences and never forget, I am sure.

My goal for 2017 is to get to 12.5 or lower.

I would love this opportunity to be fit because as a physical therapist who is TPI certified, I've worked very hard to eliminate all the physical reasons why I don't hit the ball well. A fitting with Callaway would provide an opportunity to eliminate the equipment reasons as to why I might not be hitting the ball as well as I could.

Handicap - many . . . seriously, I'm dont have an official handicap, though i usually play, i guess, to a 15 now

Goal - god help me, i just want to be more consistent, especially off the tee. honestly, the best part of my game is keeping it low to play out of the woods

Why do i want the trip - i have two young kids, and i dont get to play as much as i used to. i think, maybe, getting out there - and getting professionally fit for the first time ever - would kind of be reinvigorating, and keep me excited about the game

Current USGA handicap- Currently a 4.3 index. Been as low as 2 and as high as an 8 in the past two years.

State the goals for your golf game in 2017- My goals for 2017 are to focus on avoiding penalty strokes from driving. I have a very inconsistent driving game and 3 wood is not much better. I practice 4 to 5 days a week but I am guilty of too much tinkering. In 2017 I would like to see my handicap stay below 3, compete in local amateur tournaments, find a driver I can trust

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf- Since my first introduction to the game I have been a supporter of Callaway. My first ever golf related Christmas present was the original Big Bertha driver. I have stayed very loyal to the brand and I feel like their equipment is superior. I have never had a new set of irons or clubs in the past 15 years and have never been fit for a set before. I usually buy an item on ebay that is older after hitting some demo clubs or a friends set. My current Callaway Alpha (1st edition) was purchased on ebay with just the head and then had my local shop put in whatever pulled X flex shaft they had handy. This process has been repeated numerous times with me taking chances on whatever shafts are available at the store. Currently gaming Alpha driver, alpha 3 wood, apex pro irons (2013), Mack Daddy 2 52 and 60

Goals:

2017 is the year guys... I've been playing for a little less than 3 years and it was my goal to do local tournaments during the first half of 2017 and do mini tours during the second half. I know it sounds unrealistic and I have 99% chance of failing at it but who cares right?

Why?

I have recently been fitted for Callay irons and purchased the apext combo set(4-pw), which will be delivered in several days. I'm currently gaming callaway 3-year-old razr fit extreme driver and 3 wood. XR pro hybrid and Nike vpro blades and wedges with method putter. With Nike closing down, I've been looking for new brands and I just feel that Callaway might be the one!
