  • Current USGA handicap: 10
  • Goals for my 2017 golf game: I would like to work on tightening up my dispersion, and by doing so, I should be able to hit more greens in regulation.
  • Why I want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: For the 2016 season, I made an entire equipment change in my bag except for my putter. I decided on the Callaway APEX CF 16 irons, and love everything about them. This was the first time I have ever used Callaway products, and I'm rather pleased. Based on the results I had with the irons, I would like to try out other clubs in the Callaway equipment line to help me even further.

Goals for 2017: After 2 seasons with shoulder issues, I am fully healthy and looking forward to lowering

my handicap to low single digits again.

Why I would like to attend this exclusive opportunity: My bag is completely Callaway, with the exception of putter.

Being a Golf Galaxy Operations Manager, I am always looking for a company to fulfill all my customer's needs.

Callaway has been our top selling brand for the last 3 years. I look forward to greater market changing innovations,

like the 360 face cup, to lead Callaway for many years to come. Thank you for the opportunity.

Current HC - 12

Goal for 2017 - get back to my 2010-2014 standards. Have struggled last two years all around game, was a 7, now a 12 and can't play to that

Goals for being at Callaway - Instead of guessing what I should play ( play callaway hybrid and driver now, and tried iron after iron ) be properly fit by experts, see what my swing is doing, where the flaws are right now, and work on a plan to fix it with the proper equipment and work on my part.

Thanks for the great opportunity

USGA Index

3.3 <--- Haven't picked up a club since April.

2017 Goals

Get back to the level I attained in 2015. Shoot another 68. Get my driver past the 300 mark on the reg. I miss picking a quarter of the green from 215 and nailing it. I want to start walking the course in the morning and the dead heat of the day in 2017. I love having the course to myself (or close), it's peaceful. With the wedding coming up along with a return to school I haven't had the time.

I enjoyed playing a ton in 2015. I walked 9 to 18 almost everyday. I was dealing with a layoff and recovering from a back injury...3 herniated discs in my lower back. I couldn't do much but I could walk. I was strong enough and knew enough about a golf swing to put together a functional swing. I lost 30lbs walking the course over the summer. The swing improved as the weight came off and I gained experience. The weight loss coupled with a stretching workout, got my back feeling ok again. Golf, oddly enough, helped me turn that corner. I'm running and lifting now. Waist size from a 42 to a 34. I'm also getting married to my physical therapist on November 19. I wore out my pull cart. Guys at my local pro-shop were amazed. With everything going on, the stress of unemployment and the unknown, golf somehow made it go away for 2-3 hours. Selling the sticks was a recurring theme from my then girlfriend, but there was no way in hell I was giving that up. Thankfully my layoff period ended and I got back to work. I haven't played since April. The Ryder Cup almost had me out but school got in the way. I miss walking and talking trash with strangers met on the first tee box, collecting and handing out $1 bills, and buying tall boys from the cart girl for strangers. I'm jonesin man. I need this.

I like Callaway's approach to the game right now. They're releasing clubs on a responsible schedule (not Taylor Made's), the equipment is amazing, and they're communicating with the public. Seem to care about amateur golf. The podcasts, content, etc. Obviously a once in a lifetime trip for an amateur. To undergo a full PGA level fitting and experience that level of expertise would be truly awesome.

2017 Goals - Increase driver distance. Improve short game and iron consistency.

Why I would like to attend this event - i have played most (really!) Callaway equipment released since the original Big Bertha woods. However, I have always bought off the rack and custom ordered what I thought would fit my game and swing best. Custom fitting by Callaway experts and understanding the process from club design, building and fitting would, in my opinion, help me achieve my goals stated above. Not to mention this would be way cool!!

HC- 8

Goals: I have worked hard to really mentally change my approach and improve and saw great gains this year. 2017 I really look forward to playing golf aggressively and not worrying about swing bandaids and tweaks, but really shooting to score and keep majority of my rounds in the low 80s and high 70s.

Why attend: Callaway are the clubs I played with first for a few years when I got serious about golf. I loved their stuff and it fit me well. Seeing a true R&D team work would be awesome and to be fitted by them would be sweet. Also getting to check out a golf companies HQ would be a great experience as well.

Current Handicap: +0.3

2017 Goals: To eliminate one side of the golf course, get back to real competitive golf, gain greater consistency with the driver, Ultimately gain the confidence to peg it with the best of them with something on the line (and beat them)

Why I'd want to attend? I am the ultimate tinkerer - shafts, irons, drivers (You name it, I have likely tried it if not owned it). Truth be told, I am actually not currently a huge Callaway fan. I would like to see what is involved in their process, see the R&A that goes behind the work. Actually experience the work and differences first hand, maybe even share my thoughts as well (for whatever they are worth. Ultimately, it would be a great way for me to gain a new appreciation for the brand and equipment.

HC - 3.8

Goals - I made a step up last year but I still feel I don't perform my best under pressure. I want to be able to make the big shots when it counts the most. I want to develop a repeatable pre-shot routine and stick to it and find out what I need to do take the next step. I also want to play more competitive golf to put myself into pressure situations more often so i can learn what I need to do to improve.

I have never played a Callaway club but I open to playing anything that works. I have also never really been fit properly. I want to stop guessing on what works and find a set up that I can trust and gives me no doubt that I am playing the best equipment for me.

Current USGA Handicap: 8

Goals for 2017:

  • Consistently break 80 (I don't ever want to shoot higher than 79 again!)
  • Instead of being a scratch golfer for 12 holes and an 18 handicap for the last 6 holes, I’d rather just be a consistent 2.

Why I want to attend this opportunity of a lifetime:

I love golf. I watch it, play it, research it, etc.… If I finish a round before sundown, you better believe I’m squeezing in as many extra holes as possible! Unfortunately I’ve never had the opportunity to get my clubs fitted. Because I am so close to never shooting 80 again, my excuse is that my clubs are too old (yes, I know this is ridiculous). The only time I get a “lesson” is when my dad says I swing too hard (just what I wanted to hear after that bad shot!). Because I live in the Midwest, I play in all sorts of weather. So having a shot at playing golf in December with no snow to worry about, talk about paradise! If I am chosen for this event, it will go down as one of my all-time favorite memories. Who knows, maybe this opportunity will jump start my career on the Senior Tour (I am only 26 so I have a few years to get ready for the Seniors)!

HC: 10.2

2017 goal: reduce index to 6 or less (lowest level when playing frequently), play 75+ rounds in the year, get at least one of my three kids at home more active in the sport.

Why attend: having made significant recent changes to my swing, I need to get my entire bag re-fit. In the past, I have enjoyed playing Callaway clubs (full bag at times) but currently only play 2 Callaway clubs with 3 others that rotate in occasionally. I have been impressed with the recent offerings and would like to see if a properly fit set will kick out the mainstays in my current bag. I'm sure it would be an awesome experience.

Thanks.

Handicap: 13

Goals for 2017: I want to become a single digit handicap, and break 80, becoming a more consistent golfer and win some of my men's clubs tournaments

Why do I want to attend: I currently play the Apex CF Combo set and absolutely love them. I have never been fit for woods or wedges or a putter, and I think that with those things I would be able to add another dimension to the game. To be able to get fit and meet the people behind some of the most innovative clubs on the market would be a huge advancement to my game. My first set of clubs were a X14's that I bought off the rack with no fitting. The advancement's I've made since them, and to really help me become a better golfer with a full bag of Callaway, fit by the guys themselves would really bring my golf game full circle. To have the confidence standing over the ball knowing everything was fit to my game, would help me reach my full potential.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017

  1. Long game consistency: I want to be able to shape and control the trajectory of my ball on the long game. Part of this goal will be definitely enhanced with the proper club fit
  2. Approach shot distance control: At this moment I am hitting on or around the green but not always at the right distance, leaving me with long putts that on tough putting courses lead to 3-putts.
  3. Short-game: weakest part of my game, definitely want to achieve consistency in being able to get up and down more than 50% of the time.

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf

  1. This once in a lifetime opportunity will allow me to first understand all the R&D that goes into the different golf clubs that Callaway makes (the Engineer in me (cool))
  2. After understanding this, I will be able to get fit by one of the best fitting experiences in the country (as per a lot of WRXers). This alone can shave strokes off my game. Some tips will also come in handy :smilie_cally:
  3. This experience will just increase my level of confidence in my game and allow my full potential and seek the right help from a PGA pro where I need it the most and will help me surpass my 2017 goals!

Average score for 18 - 78 (6400 yds Tinker AFB GC, par 72) No USGA HC, don't play any USGA or State events anymore - To old

2017 goals - Shoot my age (72) Came close, a couple of 74's recently

Why - Playing for over 50+ years (self taught) and never had a club fitting. Would really like to know what could have been with proper equipment. Still can hold my own from the front tees against the flat bellies, but would love to put it to them every once in awhile. (PS: Love the chrome soft ball - nice job Callaway)

State the goals for your golf game in 2017

1. Be able to break 70. Once while playing Callaway Razr-X clubs hit 70 but have not been able to come close since.

2. Drive the ball better and I mean with the driver

3. Putt better. Currently use Odyssey 2-ball putter and love it but it may be the wrong putter for me.

4. Win club championship. Oh how I know how it feels to be the brides-maid and never the bride. You have a couple of hours let me tell you....

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf

I used Callaway clubs for the past 12 years and recently switched to Taylormade M2 woods and irons.

While the clubs themselves are great and have added yards to each shot they may not have been correctly fitted so I think I am losing shotability (scattered shots) which go deeper into the woods thus losing strokes. I have never been to California being a Georgia boy and would love to see how clubs are made and fitted for pros and hackers. I cannot imagine how the fitter would look at my swing and be able to manufacture a club that did what it was supposed to.

I play 15 tournaments a year and it would be awesome to move up into the championship flight. Would be awesome to get fit with Callaway!

2017 golf goals: Have a handicap of +2 or better by the end of the season, have a tournament average under 75

Why I would want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: Most golf equitment companies have one thing they specialize in, whether is be drivers, irons, wedges, or putters. Callaway is the one company that has no lacking areas. I would love to see how a set of custom Callaway clubs would preform relative to what I am already gaming.

State the goals for your golf game in 2017: Become more consistent and try to eliminate the peaks and valleys if possible.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: I believe fitting is a must, but living in the area of the country I do the fitting options are extremely limited. I read about others that have this option open to them and am left feeling very jealous. This would be a dream for me. I'm probably at my peak in golfing and need something like this to possibly give me the opportunity to hang with the younger crowd. I would be so grateful for the opportunity.

I am not sure if i am eligible as a Canadian but will post anyway, if i am not eligible no worries and best of luck to the participants

Current Index: 1.6

Goals for 2017: I am always trying to get incrementally better. I have a full time job which is demanding so i don't have dreams of being a +4 or anything and winning mid-ams. But i'd still like to get better, i feel i have the potential to get to 0.0 so i guess that would be the goal every season. Winning my club championship, finishing well in our provincial mid-am. These are all possibilities and realistic goals. I'm a competitive person and love golf, so i want to get better but am realistic too

State why you'd want to be a part of this opportunity to be fit by Callaway: I think any golfer would be absolutely nuts to not want to be fit by a major club company and their group of professionals. It's an experience you will always remember and i am sure you would learn much from about your own swing and how to optimize it. A regular person just doesn't get a chance to do this so anyone would be lucky to do it, i mean you almost don't need to answer this question. And sure I'll put my 2017 goals in Callaway's hands and feel confident if fit for clubs, because i believe fitting does help, but it won't be easy because i like my bag and it suits me well....So both sides face a challenge and let's do this! Last but not least everyone from Montreal wants to get the heck out of Montreal in December

With a four year old daughter and another on the way my goals are simply to play a few rounds and have fun next year, I'm sure my index will continue to rise over the next few years as golf takes a back seat to fatherhood so oh well.

What I really want is to get my four year old on the course. She loves the driving range so I built her some clubs and hope to get her out there as soon as her attention span can handle it.

I have to say I haven't played Callaway for years until this year, the GBB won its way in to the bag and so did an md3 wedge. I bet those apex cf16's are ridiculously fun to hit and would love to see if Cally makes the fairway that will finally knock out my trusty 2008 burner.
