Mizuno JPX 900 drivers

Recommended Posts

I went in to hit the 917 demo yesterday and the shop had just gotten the new Mizuno Driver. I hit them both for almost an hour in the sim. I was not that impressed with the 917. However I was very impressed with the feel and look of the Mizuno. That blue head looks awesome sitting on the ground. I hit balls off the toe and heal and didn't see the big drop off in distance like the previous models.

I got the driver with the new speeder evolution II 569. The shaft is legit. I didn't think I would like the lighter shaft but the more I hit it the more I fell in love. I was playing the Taylormade M2 previously and my biggest complaint with that club was dispersion. I don't seem to have the problem with the Mizuno as I went straight to the course yesterday and the dispersion was much tighter. I'm very happy with the purchase so far!

My SS was 99-102

I got the stiff flex 569

Thank you, wasn't sure if maybe they offered that in x flex.

At least tell me it sounds awful,

I can't even tell you that. Honestly I kind of think it sounds like the older titilest drivers. I really like the sound. The shop is waiting on the other shafts to come in. When they do I will go try the others but I really like the 569.

Haha, we'll I had enough credit at Global Golf I pulled the trigger. So thanks for your review. Our swing speeds are similar so hopefully this works out and kicks my Titleist 915 out of the bag; has to sound better at least

Ok...make that 3.. I've got a couple mph (and I mean 2) on you boys but damn if I am not motivated to make it 3 buyers by virtue of this review.

My 915 is about to get kicked out of the bag..

Did you buy it or were you just testing a demo on the course?

I bought the club. I played three rounds with it now. (Shot 80, 80, and 79) I'm extremely happy so far. I hit it as far as my old M2 and I have a much tighter dispersion. The biggest difference I have noticed after three rounds is that I feel like I have control off the head the entire swing. I guess I may have to go try ou the hybrids next.

Make it 4. I will be getting one now

I'll be getting too BUT I'll wait until the prices drop - already paying near retail for the hybrids and irons because I won't wait.

Oh, cmon' make it 5 :taunt:

More companies should offer wrx discounts because of threads like this.

Tempted for sure! Best price I've seen on the driver is $399 shipped at the moment.

Where have you seen $399? I am seeing $599. Canada though but I know the exchange isn't that bad

Can't give up source until I decide what I'm going to do - not sure how many items seller has but I'll keep you folks posted. I'm seeing prices at $499 which must be a U.S. thing.

I want this in the stiff shaft. Anyone tried the three different weights. how will the 60g compare to the 68g shaft. Will I see a difference as a 10 handicapper? Obviously a small weight but anything else?

Startd the year with g30 then bought an m2 too low spin and bad dispersion then got a g which is just a little better than the g30. Also had an xr16 and bertha but they were about the same as the g/g30 but didnt like the look.

Looking forward to trying this driver, ez and new fusion, other than that nothing looks interesting out there for 2017.

I think my bag is set except for driver for 2017.
