Mizuno JPX 900 drivers

Recommended Posts

Been looking or trying to find reviews on this driver. Hopefully some will come soon. I will be posting how this is against my 915 d3 and Bridgestone J815 driver. I do remember how I loved the Jpx 850 and really loved the MP 650 drivers. Hopefully this will be a mixture of both with a little more forgiveness. Hard to say that because the Jpx 850 driver still holds my record of the most fairways hit in a row. 27 by the way.

Make it 4. I will be getting one now

I'll be getting too BUT I'll wait until the prices drop - already paying near retail for the hybrids and irons because I won't wait.

Oh, cmon' make it 5 :taunt:

More companies should offer wrx discounts because of threads like this.

Tempted for sure! Best price I've seen on the driver is $399 shipped at the moment.

$399 where?

Checked out the driver today and it has a wonderful shape. Honestly though can't stand the topline paint break looks terrible. Does Mizuno think everyone is going to make a skymark?! That's a deal breaker for me but I'm guessing for some that's a good thing....BB

Startd the year with g30 then bought an m2 too low spin and bad dispersion then got a g which is just a little better than the g30. Also had an xr16 and bertha but they were about the same as the g/g30 but didnt like the look.

Looking forward to trying this driver, ez and new fusion, other than that nothing looks interesting out there for 2017.

I think my bag is set except for driver for 2017.

You, Sir, have summed up the predicament which 99.99999999999999992% of golfwrx members face on a daily basis.

For those that have tested this driver, did you try them in different settings? If so, did it make a difference? Thanks

Is anyone else bothered by the white lines around the outside of the crown? I'm ok with the blue head, but I do prefer a traditional "clean" look with very little on the head (especially the perimeter). I would really like if they offered a "Tour" option with no Mizuno logo or perimeter lines on the crown.

This driver really has my attention, but there's nobody in the state that is going to carry them. Even the PGA tour superstore isn't getting these. If I buy it, it's going to be on the reviews I'm able to read on here. I haven't seen many yet. My next driver will either be this one, or the 917. I called Golfsmith yesterday as well, and there 3 to 4 weeks out for delivery.

TM, with the 900 they upped the adjustability and compared to the 850 the impact of the various settings. When you put them side by side you can see they extended the middle track and the outer weight slots are more extreme to the toe and heel. Again, the slightly bigger head allows for this. In the end the ability to fine tune spin and bias are definitely better than the previous version. I honestly haven't messed around with the face angle adjuster because it sits square at 9.5 degrees which is working fine for me right now.

I've hit it and even in the non upright settings and open face it is still very upright to me- although it still is an awesome driver with great feel and heaps of adjustments and plenty of ball speed! Stock evo2 made for Mizuno feels like a noodle and is mot quite like the real deal. Hit this with a Kiyoshi and Would say this is a vast improvement from the 850. Very glad it's larger at 450 as well, still wish they'd go full 460 for max forgiveness.

I had heard that the stock evo2 was the real thing

Nope. Everyone knows the REAL DEAL shaft is made at Fujikura's Japan factory. Check the stickers on the shaft when you get your new $500 driver with the "real deal $400" shaft in it. When the sticker states "head in China shaft made in Vietnam" you know you're not getting the real shaft! There is literally no way an OEM can put a $400 shaft in a $500 driver unless it's a watered down made for shaft.

Well the other site says their the real deal 100% made in japan unbiased consumer reports of the industry. So shouldnt they have real scoop. Right!

Just called a very nice guy at Mizuno customer service and asked him the question, he said 100% made in japan. I said are you sure because its very important. He said yes he gets it becuase his rogue shaft he thought was real turned out to be a "made for".

He said let me go talk to my supervisor, came back and said yess 100% made in Japan.

So either they are lying or you are mis-informed.

I don't know why you don't believe me as I've seen the stickers with my own eyes. Get back to me when the sticker on your new driver says Shaft Made In Vietnam and tell me how that crow tastes.

There is a laser etched serial number on each shaft. I'm going out on a limb here but if they where made in Vietnam, they probably wouldn't get the serial numbers. I really doubt Mizuno is lying around it.
