Jeff Mann versus Dan Carraher

Sure it's fair, the OP is either JM with a fake account or one of his minions he sent to troll here. It's quite obvious.

I did see he updated his Dan C thread with a new post.

Looks like it is a 1 hour read.

Thankfully I have hockey and dont have time to read it :)

Do you agree, or disagree, with Jeff Mann's many criticisms of Dan Carrher's opinions regarding clubface control issues in the pre-impact, and immediate post-impact, phase of a driver golf swing?

In particular, look at post #4 where Jeff Mann compares Henrik Stenson's pre-impact and immediate post-impact degree of clubface roll to Phil Mickelson's degree of clubface roll during the same time periods.

Jeff Mann: "If cargo shorts worked for Monte, maybe I'll try spandex shorts, clogs, and an old man hat."

In all fairness to Jeff, that's probably his least terrible idea.

Think about this, the guy has his own forum where he is the Dictator. He almost never agrees with anyone except himself. The RYKE Angle...lol! He took the idea from another, totally disagreed with it then used it in his argument against Iteach.

He never recovered from the butt kicking Manzella gave him in that challenge a few years back. Since then he banned most of his forum members and the other one just gave up and left..lol! Now he can never be wrong.

Lives in his own fantasy land where 2d is King and the story never lets facts get in the way.

Isaacbm - you are probably the only GolfWRX golf forum member who has actually read and actually understood Jeff Mann's counterarguments in that NGI golf forum thread.

And you are probably the only member in this thread that doesn't understand sarcasm.

Balloon bursted.

In all fairness, I watched the first 5 minutes of the spandex video in the friend's rec room.

In the words of Forged4Ever borrowed from the Sneads, bro, you're making simple arithmetic into calculus.

Jeff's problem is he doesn't even understand the premise of my position and therefore doesn't understand the argument and therefore makes ridiculous assumptions that weren't stated or ever implied.

He hilariously thinks grainy 2D video is better than 3D because he doesn't understand what 3D is actually showing.

Here you can see his clear complete lack of comprehension of what's going on and what the graph states. Same exact mistake he is making here. He doesn't know the difference between the left wrist EXTENDING and the left wrist being EXTENDED. Two very different things. Even when spoon fed the numbers.

He clearly states in the thread that the 3D must be wrong because it shows the Grant Wait is flipping and the photos show a flat left at impact. He makes the incorrect assumption that the 3D and the photos don't match up and therefore 3D isn't accurate. Same exact hilarious conclusion he draws here. Problem is that the graph shows no such thing. Let's go over what it actually shows

WaiteStudy.jpg

This graph clearly shows Grant Waite has a bowed/flexed left wrist at impact and the photo sequence clearly shows it going from flexed to flat to extended. The flexion/extension graph doesn't hit 0 until AFTER impact. Which means his left wrist is BOWED at impact and becomes flat shortly after impact but Jeff reads the graph as showing that Grant is dipping at it. The graph clearly shows that Grant is EXTENDING his left wrist to and through impact but that it is FLEXED AT IMPACT. He completely doesn't understand the wrist can be flexed but EXTENDING at the same time. That's why he makes the wrong assumption that if the shaft isn't passing the left arm that the left wrist cannot be extending. He fails to realize it's moving from an out of line position (flexed) to an inline position (flat or 0) and then past impact it's reaching extension. But going from flexed to flat is STILL EXTENSION even though the wrist is not extended.

WaiteThroughImpact.jpg

He claims this sequence shows no left wrist extension and claims "clubshfat is straight-in-line with his left arm in image 4" which it clearly isn't inline with his left arm at all. That photo sequence in fact 100% matches the 3D numbers he just doesn't have a clue what he's looking at.

Speith does the exact same thing. Goes from 26* flexed at p6.5 to 6* flexed at impact. His wrist is still bowed at impact, nobody every claimed it wasn't, but it is EXTENDING. It goes from 26* at p6.5 to 6* at impact to -11* at p8. The graph clearly shows a constant extension to 0 and then past 0.

Which is more bowed?

IMG_5925_zpsbs4x6koo.jpg

He also misses the point that I never said Phill didn't have roll through impact. I said EVERYONE has roll through impact and from p6 to p7 that Phil had less than Stenson. And it's clear as day that Stenson is consistently more open with the clubface at p6-6.5 than Phil is while in similar positions at impact. Which means it has to close more over the same distance. His claim that anyone has a no roll release is ridiculous.

He can't be debated with because he doesn't even understand what he is debating. He doesn't understand what 3D is showing or how a player can have a flat left wrist post impact yet still be extending through impact, clubbing moving from out of line to inline with left arm. I won't post anymore on this since it's obvious he doesn't even understand what I'm saying and will never admit to being wrong so there is zero point in debating. Especially with a person who things grainy 2D photos are more accurate than 3D measurements
