Adams is the longest without question. I personally am not concerned with distance relating to any club in the bag except driver so I do not play it. I do have the F6 hybrid in play currently and distance is more than adequate. Also a sneaky cheap option is the Calloway razr X Tour, multiple times I have hit it past 3 wood distance

Driver: Ping G410 LST (Diamana ZF)
5w:  Titleist TS2 (Ventus Blue)
3H: Titleist 818 H2 (Ventus Blue HB)
or 3i: Cobra King Utility 21* (Tour AD DI)
4-P: PXG 0311T (KBS $-Taper)
Wedges: 51* Edel TRP, 55* Edel DVR, 60* Cally MD5
Putter: PXG Mini Gunboat H

Adams Super LS is the only answer. I had the 17* and it was longer than any 3 wood. Super high ball speed, and freakish low spin. I'm a high launch high spin guy and it never got above 2600 rpm. Basically it's like a driver that you can't swing as fast. I could hit it around 290. My buddy is shallower than me, and so he wonly spun it at around 2000 rpm, and he rolled a few to 310.

BUT, it feels and sounds horrendous. Also if you mishit it, it goes all over the place. I replaced it with the SLDR 17* hybrid. Sacrifice 15 yards but much more consistent.

Any other answer is wrong. This is the longest hybrid ever

I have a nice long Speeder hybrid shaft sitting around, and was considering a Bridgestone J15 or TEE Ex9 in 17 degrees as a fairway wood alternative. Both heads produce prodigious distance in my experience.

Adams Super XTD Ti. Much more consistent across the face and better feeling than the Super LS with just as much ball speed. It may be my hybrid forever.

Not as low spin however. Which is why it's more consistent

That's not the reason for the consistency. Miss the LS a half inch from the center and it'll go 2/3rds as far as a center hit. Probably will get 90% distance with the same mishit on the XTD Ti.

Yes it is... If you have a more forward CG you get lower spin and less forgiveness

If it's outright length you're looking for, the guys saying Adams Super LS are absolutely correct. I had the 17*, ad long as 3 wood. You'd better have some mustard behind your swing to handle the 15*. But the comments about sound and feel are correct-they suck in that department, and I needed to lead tape the heck out of the toe to avoid the hooks. But SUPER long!

any updates to this thread? what is the current longest? i am playing a taylormade m2 19* that goes pretty nice, but could use another option to go further. my 3 wood play off the deck has not been consistent and so i've been searching for a lower lofted hybrid.

RBZ Stage 2 Rescue was the longest hybrid I ever owned. Way too much draw bias though so I switched it out of the bag for an R15 Rescue. the RBZ was a glued hosel at 19* and I have my R15 lofted down to 17.5* and it maybe gets me back to the RBZ distances, but it's much more controllable and I can shape my shots easier.

Enough has been said about the older Adams in this thread, but might as well add my endorsement to the list. I've yet to find any hybrid that rivals the Super LS or the XTD-Ti. Absolute dead heat, I just like to alternate them. Only slight advantage I would give to the XTD-Ti would be on feel. It's more solid sounding than the LS. Both are monstrously long. Nothing current will rival them.

I got a luck find on an R15 TP 4 Hy. Was looking for a 3 iron replacement since I finally ordered an iron set sans 3 iron. The R15 has the 869 Fujikura Evolution Tour Spec. Nice weight. Goes very straight and far too. At std loft of 22 deg it almost goes too similar in distance to my 18 deg Callaway XR Tour with the Motore Tour Spec. I had to tune it 1 degree weaker for now. I am looking at selling my Callaway and buying the R15 2 hybrid with same shaft. The loft adjustments give you nice flexibility as well.

Another vote for the Adams xtd ti. I bought one a few weeks back in 14*(Tour only loft) and threw a Matrix Black Tie hm3 105xx at 42" in it in hopes to fill the 3 wood gap in my bag(270-280yds). Took it out for the first time on the course and had 277 to a bunker at the corner of a dog leg left. Hit my tee shot flush and low and behold it landed even with the bunker and rolled out another 20ish yds. Just checked on google maps to see what the distance was and its showing 303yds to the bridge that i was even with. Slightly downhill tee shot but still, I have never hit a "hybrid" that goes quite this far(I used to carry a 16 degree Adasms Pro Gold that i could hit 260 but this is on another level).

Just to throw another club in the discussion, the Adams Idea Black Super hybrid at 17* was also a rocket launcher, and the sound/feel feedback could also be a bit confusing at times. I routinely out drove my 4some with it for the 3-4 months that she and I got along. I'm back to the Cobra Biocell 2-3H at 16.5* for better control, but it's about 10 yards shorter than the Adams.

  • 1 month later...

Reviving this thread become I'm curious if anything in recent years has the same reputation as the old adams xtd ti, for length and forgiveness.

I'm looking for length and precision off the tee on tight holes and currently use an adams idea tour prototype in 18 degrees.

Already excluded fairway woods for reason we don't need to get into here.
