Love it, but golf will still be golf. None of the "game changers" have really changed it.....

Calloway is positioning themselves nicely.

To be fair, Callaway is the only one that ever actually really did have a "game changer." If you were playing in the mid 90s, you'll remember that the Great Big Bertha added like 25 yards distance to everyone's tee shot overnight. And that was a real 25 yards.

I think the 975d was the driver that was way ahead of the competition, that is the last driver I can say that about.

I actually thought about that too. Those may have been 2 of the best drivers ever created.

still have my 975d in the garage, will never be used again. some of the best golf experiences were with it, so cant part with it

Same with me and my steel shafted 983K. Won't ever get used again in a serious context, but make break it out for nostalgic reasons every now and then.

I met with my Callaway rep yesterday and saw both Epic divers. Wow they look really great!!! The black and green combo looks good. It reminds me of a combination of the GBB and fusion driver but not a triangular shape. I snapped a few pics and the rep said that I could show my coworkers but not to post them online yet.

How about we say you hired me today, then you could PM me the pictures. ;)

Here is what I know. When Callaway first introduced the Gravity core they noticed that connecting the crown to the sole plate helped increase ball speeds, after years of testing to find out why, the new Epic was born. It has internal titanium rods that connect the crown to the sole plate. Supposedly this increases the ball speed since energy is not lost when the clubhead tends to distort as with other drivers. Interesting concept. $500 retail....Ouch!!!!

So basically the Zevo compressor technology from 20+ years ago? Sean Toulon developed that club and owned Zevo golf, and Callaway just bought his company and put him on staff. Hmmmm. Hope it works as planned and Callaway has perfected the technology. I love driver wars. :)

Zevo was founded by Toulan but the driver was developed by Dave Boone who was an executive VP of Zevo at the time.

Hit the SZ version and Fw today and they are both very solid offerings. All stock set up and I was still 5-10 past my gamer with too much spin. Look forward to testing with my shafts and correct swing weight. Wanted to go very straight overall. Both heads look great and the sound is very Fusion-esque!! Seemed much easier to hit than my past Sub zero and even my GBB!! Very stoked to get it on the course.

Each had own stock shaft, but I believe either available as the stock in either, and I am sure a bunch of no upcharge will be available also.

I hit it with my shaft, how were you not able to???

Didn't have time, kind of an in between visit. Got enough out of the stock shafts to get some results...don't swing as hard as you do!! :bb2:

Love it, but golf will still be golf. None of the "game changers" have really changed it.....

Calloway is positioning themselves nicely.

To be fair, Callaway is the only one that ever actually really did have a "game changer." If you were playing in the mid 90s, you'll remember that the Great Big Bertha added like 25 yards distance to everyone's tee shot overnight. And that was a real 25 yards.

I would disagree.

TaylorMade - first metal wood, first movable weight, first adjustable sleeve. RBZ fairways. ALL GAME CHANGERS!

What has that gotten them lately?

Let's be honest with each other, most OEMs have great stuff. They are so close it comes down to what people prefer.

However, don't every doubt that in the past, all of them at one time or another provided a "game changer"

5-10 by your gamer is impressive. Especially with too much spin. Tells me either you didnt fit for your gamer or the new driver is illegal.
