My first set of Hogans (1974 Directors) I played for more than 35 years. My new Hogans (PTx) will stay in my bag just as long. Of course I will be 92 when the timer turns 35 years.

Driver / FW - TM Burner 10.5 / 15 lofts
Irons - Hogan PTx 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44 lofts
Wedges - Hogan TK 48, 52, 56, 60 lofts
Putter - Wilson 8802
Golf Ball - TM Lethal or Snell MTB

My favorite set is the 99 Apex, I never cared for his cavity irons. I no longer play muscle back iron because advanced age, but a big Hogan iron fan before they were bought out by Callaway.

You really owe it to yourself to give the PTx's a shot. I'm a fellow Old who spent decades playing nothing but blades (including at one point a set of '99 Apexes). The PTX's are the real deal, and very true to the pre-Callaway Hogan.

So you're trying not to be a ho? This is a story of a wise sage . I heard this wisdom in stairway of my 4 quad apt building, my home at the time, after a hearing the couple in the apartment next to me fighting, heard her say you can't call me that. Why are you calling me that? etc. I heard the women bolt out the door and run down the stairs, as soon as the man went to the back of the apt. He comes racing from there, swings open the door, and after a pregnant pause that seemed to go on forever , he utters these words, "Once a ho, always a ho." Then proceeds to walk into his apt and closed the door. I now understand this as the most profound statement uttered by a drunk man I ever heard.

Just ordered a set of Ft Worth 15's from 20⁰-56⁰ WITHOUT the "new" iron number etching on the hosel. Thankfully Barry at the Hogan Company was able to find me a set because I would not have bought them with the etching. They really should offer that as a custom option. IMO, the etching takes away from the core of what they began doing when they developed these clubs and the loft gapping system. Needless to say, I am REALLY excited to receive them. Heck, I even ordered a stand bag to carry them in. Now I need to sell off a some of my other iron sets to make room. I think having 4 complete sets of clubs is a bit much. I am leaning toward keeping my Miura Small "Baby" Blades along with the Ft Worth 15's and selling my custom Edel irons and my PXG 0311T's. Anyone interested before I post them on BST, feel free to PM me.

Good call on skipping the etching. Did you let them know that you would have NOT ordered if you couldn't have purchased them this way? I've been strongly considering grabbing a set myself but, at this point, it looks like I might have to go used to get them without the etching since the earliest that I'd place an order would be next summer.

Yes sir, I told them that the etching was a deal breaker for me. Luckily Barry was able to find a set that was not etched and already built the way I wanted. IMO the etching goes against the core values of why they created the loft gaping system in the first place. Besides, etching is a pretty simple process that they should offer as an 'option' and not mandatory.
