If it wasn't Goretex in the first place it wasn't really waterproof.

What caused you to think it's lost its "waterproofness" ?

If it was a biblical down pour then only Goretex can handle it.

Because it is a FJ Dryjoy jacket that came with a 2 year waterproof warranty.

It is waterproof "rated" for a certain amount of water: basically if it gets wet its not guaranteed to be waterproof anymore. I know it sounds silly, I am not really sure exactly how it works but I went through the same thing with my FJ gear. If you call them and tell them you're unhappy they should take care of you.

Gotta read the fine print...

It's way out of warranty and I have no receipts.

It was totally waterproof when it was new.... It's over 5 years old.

Don't get why those with GoreTex jackets, probably Galvin Greens are so up themselves when it comes to their jackets. Jumbo is clearly just looking for some advice, not smugness about your jacket being better than his.

Jumbo, if your jacket is 5 years old, the only thing that you can try is something Nickwax mentioned above. That might help. The jacket being 5 years old though isn't going to help. I had a Galvin Green that was probably 6 or 7 years old and it had lost it's waterproofing and I just got rid of it. If you like FootJoy, the Tour XP is jacket is a good option. I have one and would recommend it. It can be a little warm and if you typically play in warmer conditions where you are then the HyrdoLite is a good option as well. Galvin Green is also a good, if expensive option.
