I sold the AD-DI and have a Fujikura Pro Tour Spec 83 X being built. The flight on the AD-DI was higher than I prefer, so I will be interested to see how the lower launching Pro 83X works for me.

Fuji Pro Tour Spec 83x came in for the driver today. Going to test it against the gamer in the morning. I also picked up a Scotty Cameron Select Squareback with some heavier weights.

Thanks. I have actually been looking at that umbrella or the solid photo blue one. I'll stick with my solid black one until I make up my mind.

 

I would say there is a noticeable difference in feel between the VPC and the VFP irons that is mostly due to the VPC being forged and the VFP being cast. It is not a huge difference, and the VFP is not harsh by any means, but if you were comparing the two different irons side by side - the VPC would feel softer than the VFP when both irons were hit in the center of the face. I haven't noticed much difference in trajectory, but I only have the VFP in my 3 & 4 irons, so I haven't compared throughout the whole set. As far as distance is concerned - the VFP irons are going to be longer than the VPC irons throughout the set because the lofts on the VFP irons are stronger by 2* in most cases. I added the specs to both below. I would say that the VFP irons have a touch more forgiveness than the VPCs. If you mis-hit the VFP irons, you can feel that it wasn't a clean strike at impact, but you don't lose a ton of distance because of it.

I took the Fuji Pro Tour Spec 83x out to play a round Saturday morning. It is obviously still the honeymoon phase, but this thing felt great. I was able to go after it as hard as I wanted and I never lost anything right. I kept the loft set at 9.5* upright, and the trajectory was right where I like to see it. The picture didn't focus well, but here is the shaft.

 

 

The Scotty SB should be in this week or early next, but it may be getting sent back out for some custom work. These were two items on the 2017 equipment to-do list. Knocked them out early.

Wow this is awesome. Thank you so much for reply. It helped a lot. I was thinking put VPS 3-5 along with my VPC but wasnt sure about mix forged and cast irons together. I just need more forgiveness on long irons. smh. Anyways good looking bag throughout. Good luck with a new shaft. Hit them well.

I was lucky enough to get chosen for the Fujikura ATMOS Tour Spec testing. I chose the Blue 8X tipped 1". Unfortunately, I was out of town all weekend so I have not been able to hit it yet. Review coming soon though.

Thanks. I am as well. Those Arnie alignment covers and headcovers are pretty drool-worthy. I'd love them to make them available, but I'm not holding my breath. I've been out of town so I haven't had the chance to properly test the shaft yet, but I am planning on a range session tomorrow night and rounds this weekend.

I put them both on the scale and the M2 is lighter as expected. I'm going to have to add some weight either via a new sole weight or some hotmelt.

I haven't hit the vc 8.1, so I can't offer a direct comparison, but after a range session and 27 holes in the books with the ATMOS Tour Spec Blue 8X - I am a big fan. They classify it as mid/mid, but it I would say it is on the lower end of the "mid" launch spectrum and I didn't notice any extra spin compared to my Fuji Pro 83 Tour Spec. My ATMOS is tipped 1" so it is very stable, but the tipping didn't sacrifice the smooth feeling when loading the shaft. I plan on getting it on a launch monitor at some point to get actual numbers, but I am not sure when that will happen.

Global Golf has (or had) them. Last I checked there were still some left in limited quantities. I like them. The Dots are a little softer and flight a little lower it seems, and they spin a little better around the green. The X's are a little firmer, spin a little less off the driver, flight a little higher, and don't have quite as much greenside spin.

I freaking love my ATMOS TS Black. I can't imagine how much different yours feels though. I grabbed a 6x untipped and stuck it in and the feeling is all the amazing feels.
