any top gear fans watch the new Grand Tour yet? Just started the first episode then my lunch ended. LOL! So far it very similar to the old format. The banter and interactions between Clarkson, May and Hammond is still hilarious.

Watched first episode last Thursday. The intro was superb. The production value was incredibly high although i could have done without some of the high grain filters during the P1 918 and La Ferrari shootout. The trios interactions were great they were loose and funny.

The resident team racing driver will need some work. Can't replace the Stig but the nascar guy wasn't the answer

That episode was awesome. I agree about the test driver. I think you need someone better. I wish they could get a celebrity on and do a lap. I don't like the tent, but apart from that it's just like the old Top Gear.

I was just excited for the holy trinity to be tested. The team racing driver could be improved, but all in all I enjoyed it more than the new top gear. Loved that they basically kept the same format. Part of what made top gear so great was the trio. It just works.

They filmed in Nashville yesterday.

The first episode was alright. I wanted to hear Clarkson go on about the 488 more than see more of the "Holy Trinity". By now there already has been a couple comparos of those cars.

They're definitely off to a good start. The only thing I didn't like was the Nascar driver.

I was just excited for the holy trinity to be tested. The team racing driver could be improved, but all in all I enjoyed it more than the new top gear. Loved that they basically kept the same format. Part of what made top gear so great was the trio. It just works.

If you want to go even more in-depth, Chris Harris did a great job last year in his test of the three. You can really see the differences in how the three cars drive and handle in this video.

But when they were at the BBC, years ago, they couldn't get them together to test... and this was the conclusion to that promise/test. (That others copied).

I am happy to see them together again and broadcasting. Been a long time coming. :)

Episode 2

As good as E1 was this one was more streamlined. They did not have the big draw of the P1 918 La Ferrari shootout but the banter was great, cinematography fantastic and content was top self with the Aston Martin Vulcan, military bit.

Clever way to get around the BBC agreement not to use segments like "news" by renaming them to something benign. However I am still down on the american stereotypical redneck version of the team racing driver. Honestly just not doing cars like the Vulcan justice.

Yeah, I'm "turning a corner" with that guy. I know he's probably been told to be obtuse about it on purpose, but it's a freaking Vulcan. He's only one in a handful of people to drive the car. Show some appreciation to it. Although I did chuckle about his truck having the same HP. That was a good line.

Loved the live take on RPGs. :lol:

I think he's a pretty funny "anti-Stig". Thought the best line was about Vin Diesel. I admit he could act like he's enjoying a bit more.

The second season has been an improvement over the first one and today's episode took it to another level. Just like the golden days of the old Top Gear, even Kiefer Sutherland driving a tidy lap around the track to save the weakest bit of the show.
