Cobra LTD vs Bio Cell Plus

Recommended Posts

No reason to be thinking of a new driver, I am pretty happy with my Bio Cell Plus driver, but have read a lot about the King Cobra LTD, and its reputation for forgiveness and spin numbers. I have a swing speed of 100 MPH with a driver and hit my drives 250-260 on average. Is there a substantial difference between these two drivers? I have a Red Tie stiff shaft in the Biol Cell Plus, and am looking at the Aldila Rogue Black stiff in the LTD. Appreciate the responses!

I loved the LTD but never was a fan of Rogue Black stiff shaft. For my swing speed and tempo it seemed I couldn't get it load correctly. My drives were low spinning and low trajectory with that combination. . My SS averages between 98-102

The 2 best Cobra heads made for overall feel, distance, forgiveness.

The Ltd. gets the nod in forgiveness, and feel.

The stock Red Tie (wHite graphics) that comes in the Biocell + plays

stiffer to flex and launches lower than the Rogue Black that comes

stock in the Ltd. But don't confuse the smooth feel of the Rogue

with being soft or whippy. Most of the Red Tie players liked the

feel of the Rogue Black tipped .5" .

Being slightly slower swing speed (96-98 mph) and not a high spin,

late release guy, I have found my best results with the more active

tip shafts and lofting up to get my spin numbers up into the range

of being optimumal.

For me the Ltd. with the Attas 4U and the Biocell + with the Chrome +

are perfect fits. YMMV

I found the LTD to be a solid upgrade from the BC+. Noticeably better forgiveness, and feel. Unless you are dead set on a deeper face, I think the LTD is the way to go.

Bio Cell + is still amazing. Wasn't blown away by the LTD, but no driver really does these days. What are you looking for by getting the LTD? You probably wont get more distance or feel (mine is cottonballed, love it) but may gain a bit in forgiveness, is it worth the price for a bit of forgiveness?

Plus one for the King LTD and Chrome plus combo for us average swing speed players. I had resisted the move to the LTD from my XR16 Pro all season until I recently heeded the urging of one of my playing partners who has been bombing his all year. Always assumed it was his driving ability which is very good. Now wish I had switched a lot earlier in the year. As stated, forgiving and long. I shied away because of it's low spin rep, not being a high spin player, but the right shaft makes all the difference and Chrome + is it for me.

I've just bought the Ltd with the rogue black but in regular with a ss of 98/100mph and love it, feels whippy when giving it a waggle but feels great when swinging and boy it's forgiving, I nearly missed one outta the toe on Sunday but it some what came back into the fairway form way out right, I mean way out right and long too, the club feels so lively off the face, I own the m2 also but the Ltd has knocked it straight out of the bag!!

Ltd pro with chrome + user here. Solid combination. Feel, forgiveness, and accuracy are all up there.

I have played these two heads extensively. I have 2 Bio Cell + heads, one from Japan, one retail. I played the Fly Z + as well as the Cobra LTD. Numbers wise they are pretty close. The difference delivered would be to select a shaft that maximizes your your swing type and the launch and decent angle, you would like to achieve. The Red Tie increased my spin. The LTD is slightly better in forgiveness, much better sound and feel. The LTD feels like you are compressing the ball.

I will admit being a Cobra driver head player I switched to the M2. Some of my good shafts are Cobra tipped. The M2 just produces better numbers for me, same shafts. The LTD wins hands down in feel and sound even when the M2 is Hot Melted. SS 92 - 93

Can anyone chime in the BC + vs current Cobra offering on the fairway woods? Any major upgrades?

Thanks for all of the answers. It seems like the LTD can be found for pretty reasonable prices, so it might be worth a try just to see. Appreciate the information!

Another vote for LTD being more forgiving and a sound/ feel I like more. I still have my BC+ head and it's a great head, maybe even a touch longer at times, but not nearly as easy to get in the fairway with great distance. I also have an easier time shaping shots without overdoing it. Small difference in performance for the most part, but the feel is so much more to my liking in the LTD, with a solid and quieter thump.
