So after many many years I'm back on Golfwrx, and I'm interested in what's new!? When I was here a lot the Speeder 757, Adilia, Diamana blue board were the hot shafts and the Titleist F3-05 was the hot prototype.. So shaft wise, considering its the engine of the club, a lot has changed, but my bag has not (except for my woods). So I'm gonna lay out my bag, and I'm just curious what's out there shaft and club wise that I might not be aware of that might help my game. I'm 6'4" and hit the ball way to high especially with my Irons so I'm thinking Project X shafts might not be the best fit if I make a change.

Nice Try... No it is not. It was refinished and reshafted at the Studio, and had it been a fake they would have kicked it out as such.. Glad you cracked yourself up.. CAM :)

The bag looks pretty sweet to myself. To reintegrate yourself back to WRX's I think you need to get a new driver. Not that there is necessarily anything better out there, it's just that that is the WRX way.

 

I'm genuinely not sure about shafts but you may need to look at the wedges. Just thinking as I type, SM6 was 2016, SM5 was 2014, SM4 was 2012 so are these the 2010 model? If you are playing competitions (and with a bag that looks like that, I would guess that you are) people might start asking questions about the grooves on your wedges and whether they conform.

So back to my question. I hit my 5 iron about 200-205. Currently I have trouble in the wind due to my high launch with my irons. If I were to switch irons, what shafts would be best for that type of swing/ launch....?

You should maybe check out the Nippon Modus 3 Tour 130. I didn't get on with them because I just couldn't get them up in the air enough. I hit it reasonably high but with them, I just couldn't get a trajectory that I liked. I am 5' 8" though so I am pretty much a midget compared to you heigh wise.

Great looking bag! Play what works - why I keep returning to my MP-64's. Might give the C Tapers a look. I hit moon rockets with X-100's for years and now their just cloud rockets. Helped me a lot

Yes it is... And since I've been back I've bought a driver head and 1 almost 2 shafts, and made an appointment at the club to test them out on the flightscope.. Returning to my club hoe days and very happy about it! As long as the name starts with a T I'll consider it.. LOL! Actually I gave the Taylormade M2 a long hard look and couldn't get over the fact that they all look like black market fakes..!? Doesn't seem to be a lot of quality involved in the TM M2 line.. JMT... Thank you all again for such a warm welcome back, and can't wait to fiddle more this off season!

Op if your wanting to try some iron shafts look at modus 130x. I'm a long time px player and played the satin 6.5 forever. But the modus 130 is an improvement in dispersion and feel for me. The profile favors the late release that px also favors , so players that prefer px like the 130 as well. I would stay away from the modus 120 as its altogether different shaft and to me felt loose and ballooned the ball.

I have not tried the Chrome soft.. didn't even know it existed. I have gone back and fourth between the Pro V and the Tour Nike ball (durability) but went back to the Pro Vx when they became slightly more durable.. I'll look at the Chrome soft and bridgestone's for that matter.. CAM :)
