#TheWRX: The EPIC Event at Callaway Golf. 8 Members are treated to TheWRX

Recommended Posts

It's time...

Over a thousand GolfWRX Members applied to be part of an inside look at Callaway Golf. We really appreciate the amazing interest from the GolfWRX Community, but ultimately only 8 members could be selected to be part of this amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience. Here are the attendees (in alphabetical order):

They've kept the trip (mostly) quiet until now, but the time is here to post. All are excited for the experience.

We kick off officially 5PM Sunday night, Pacific Time with some night time at Ely Callaway Performance Center!

This is the first night event ever at ECPC, so it's going to be a blast.

More updates on Monday and Tuesday as we have a packed itinerary there as well.

They guys are chomping at the bit, so we're opening it up to posting and look forward to the community following along.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much to both Callaway and GolfWRX for the opportunity to be on this trip. After chatting with the other trip members over the past few weeks I think we are going to have a really good time.

I cant put into words how excited I am about this trip. My wife told me it has pretty much ruined anything she could possible come up with for Christmas.....

For all of you that want to see head to head with the new clubs we will be able to provide that. We have all shipped our gamer drivers and our 6 irons out to Callaway so we can compare our current clubs to their products, which I think is awesome!!!

I'm very excited for the trip. I'll do my best to post lots of pictures as we go. As long as Callaway gives me the ok.

I'm thrilled that Callaway has us bringing our driver and 6 iron so we can see our real gains as opposed to speculating.

Feel free to PM me or post in the thread if you have anything specific you'd want to see or ask. (Within reason)

Hello everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say thanks to GolfWRX and to Callaway for this once in a lifetime trip. I'm super excited.

The eight of us have been communicating through PM for the last few weeks and everyone is pumped about the trip. We've exchanged phone numbers and email addresses in an effort to stay connected and provide everyone with updates without repetitious posting.

I will do my best to provided objective, unbiased reporting on the process and the outcome.

I echo the sentiments of my travel partners. This is going to be nuts! To say I am excited is an understatement.

It will be very interesting to get the numbers and fitting. I have been fit for irons in Golf Galaxy, but I want to see if there is any difference. Also, I have never had a driver fitting. All of my shaft changes have been trial and error.

I am very grateful to GolfWRX and Callaway for this opportunity.

Great point, mackepa; I forgot to mention that! I believe this is one of the first trips like this where Callaway has asked attendees to bring their own clubs. I think the head-to-head comparisons will be very helpful.

I shipped my PING G30 driver and Taylormade Tour Preferred MC 6i to Carlsbad on Tuesday. I was fit for the driver head and shaft at PING HQ last March.

Yes really.... Have I ever said anything on this site that was not a fact?

I bit and texted QMany about it. Wouldn't have surprised me given his love for the cornfields of Nebraska.

i still want someone to legitimately answer my question on mixed materials...

callaway nearly pioneered it - made if successful - went away from it - moved back to it (after another OEM made it popular again). why move away from it? why move back into it?

I'll be curious how the feedback, reporting, testing will go compared to the 'other' sites Granddaddy trip. They are pretty pro Cally over there so you have to take everything with a grain of salt.

Probably because a ton of those older heads exploded and shed a bad light on the company.... Now that materials and technology have approved they are more confident in the QC. At least that is what I expect them to say and it's probably partially true, real answer, to keep up with TM.

I wouldn't be surprised if advancements in the material brought them back to it from how it was originally used. I don't know much about carbon fiber, but I understand that materials are constantly being improved from previous versions.
