On the 2017 driver I increased my ball speed by 14 mph, added 25 yards of carry. That doesn't mean I will hit it like that every time, but still...

 

My previous driver was the XR 16.

 

I also have the 3 wood, Heaven wood, and 9 woods in the 2017 addition with the new Diamana 40 gram shaft. My irons are Apex CF16, 6-GW, with the Recoil 460 F4. I hit the 7-iron as long as my Steelhead OS 6- iron. For wedges I have the MD3 54, and the PM Mack Daddy in 58. Shaft is the same as the irons.

 

Nick Arthur was my fitter and did a superb job, even threw in a lesson. We also hit off grass with a trackman tracking our progress.

 

We attended a couple of mini-seminars, toured the R&D areas, and met with Callaway's senior executives for a lively discussion lasting about an hour over at Callaway HQ.

 

Busy day, long day, but very fulfilling.

 

That's an impressive increase with the driver, Sean! If I was seeing even an average 10 yard gain over my old driver, then I'd want to switch up.

Or to put it another way, only that sort of gain would persuade me to splash the $800+ on a new driver and shaft.

I went with the new 2017 wedges with c grind. I preferred these wedges due to the straighter leading edge.

Getting time with Roger Cleveland would be EPIC. I think that is the part I would have enjoyed most. If I could dial in my game from 125 and in, I know I could really do some damage on weekend games.

Quick post and wanted to share a highlight of my golfing life. During some wedge discussion in the range I got a 15 minute mini lesson from Roger Cleveland. The man couldn't move been more helpful and nice to work with.

Please give us reviews on distance/forgiveness of the new 2017 woods after the on-course testing. This is the most I've been excited for a Callaway product in a while. I got the Apex Pro hybrid last year and it was a game changer for me. I'm so pumped for this driver. Great job with the updates! Keep 'em coming!
