Mad Max "original grind master"

I never liked that PM Grind. Got the heel relieved and the bounce taken out for flop shots...at the same time leaving a little of the PM grind in the middle for chipping up hill and to prevent it from digging..

b) I would love to see the work he has done on full iron sets as the above poster stated...in fact i have tried starting a thread to have people post their full irons grinds...never got any responses...

c)i am in complete agreement with you cota...love the feel, spin, response of the new callaway m.d. wedges...HATE all of the bounce...have you hit it since you got the grind love done to it?

If you are talking about Mad MAX from custom golf in stamford. He did an awesome job of fitting me for my driver...

Yep...that's him. Custom golf. I want to see the pics of the custom grinded irons. Someone told me to show a little respect and that I wouldnt post this on BSG. (by the way its against BSG rules to promote anyone else that would profit besides BSG) For the record. I love loggin on to BSG as well. I have much respect for Derek. :clapping: But their shop was closed due to a pipe breakage, so I turned to Max. He was also almost 100 cheaper with a free phone consultation. I needed this done ASAP, and he got it done for me and returned back within 5 days. I am very pleased! I cant wait to hit it. :russian_roulette:

Was that the Vintage before? So instead of cokeing them...you vinegar them? Does it reduce spin? These look sick!

Cota, there is alot of background history and I think some members are dropping hints over most of the memberships heads. Max does great work in general and is a sponsor on another forum. Its cool that you had a great experience. Max is among many clubmakers, including our own Sponsor Joe Kwok, that does great work and are "original grind masters".

I just recently read about Joe Kwok. I am going to look him up for future work. I didn't even think about that before I posted. I apologize. I will edit my post. If any one has pics to share of Kwok's grinds, please post as I am very interested in seeing them. I love looking at grinds from all masters!

see these wedges... I had Joe put a slight grind on the 54 similar to the 2003 Maru 54 I liked and a slight M to the P grind lob wedge.

Joe's grind looks great as well as the grind that Max did for Cota -- it all depends on what you need for your game.

 

Both Joe and Max are great.

 

As for the other guy mentioned, he still has much to learn about grinding and not gouging the customer. Hmmm, grind and gouge.

I know Max very well. My son and I are regular visitors to his shop and not only is he a dedicated fitter but one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He will distinguish himself in the golf business one day.

Same here. From the pics that I've seen, I wouldn't hesitate to send him my clubs to work on.
