I want to make my own just using golf ball, I have a ssr, buying calibration weights up here is hard and seems to be crazy expensive for some reason.

For the lightest club I used an old steel shaft from a 5 wood, two golf balls and enough duct tape to bring it up to weight. The medium on was also an old steel 5 wood shaft with 3 balls and a little bit extra duct tape. Since the shaft of these clubs is shorter than a driver I made them just a little heavy. My heavy club is an old driver with some lead tape on the bottom to add the 5% weight.

Since the medium and light clubs are shorter I only look at the change in speed over time. I don't try to compare the driver speed to the two shorter clubs.

I almost didn't post my setup because it is not very attractive and someone would ask for a photo, but here it is anyway. The shaft with no weight at all is for one armed swings. So far I have used things laying around the house so the only investment was the SSR. If I continue to do this over an extended period I might build a more refined setup.

Just finished my DIY Speedsticks. Started with grinding a 30mm steelbar to perfect weights with a lathe. Used weight guidelines from superspeedgolf.com, 20% less than gamer, 10% less & 5% more. My gamer weighed in at 330gr. Finished weights were 264gr, 297gr & 346,5gr. Had grips and old shafts layin at home, so no cost on these for me.

All the best

I'm curious to see the progress of you guys once you start the work outs and keep everyone posted. I was in the 103mph range all last year and assumed when I got after it I was getting 105-107mph with the driver. Now I can walk out totally cold and hit 114mph with ease. I want to walk back a statement where I said that I felt the Heaviest club wasn't so Important but it really is. The heavier seems to stretch the fibers in your arms better then just swinging the super lite club. Swing the super lite will get your top speeds higher and teach you to swing fast but you need to be able to reproduce it under load. The 3 weighted clubs are indeed necessary to make it all work.

Keep the info coming. Not sure which route to go. Buy professionally made set. Make own with duct tape, etc... or purchase new weights/shafts and put in the time effort to make it look like the pro set.

Make it look like pro set. Costs 40-70 bucks depending on what you already have and how OCD you are, lol

Im in for about $30-35 per club and $95 for the radar. The TX-1 grips are junk and I don't recommend them at all. Might go with some Multicompounds or something with colors. All clubs are 45", 69gr X flex.

Many are using x flex shafts? Required due to weights or simply your preference.

Yeah I used x flex cuz people here said so. But I just watched a video of a guy using the Superspeed, and the thing visibly flexes a lot, even with the lighter weights, so I'm not sure that was the right decision

107mph and up should be an Xflex. This is where I'm at with my speeds and I have been charting them as I go through the Protocol 1 work out.

Weight---Mph L/H-----Color

120gr = 140-171 Black

170gr = 135-140 Gray

220gr = 125-135 Green

320gr =114-121 Blue

360gr =104-109 Red

No, not at all. The seller on eBay cut me a deal if I bought out his inventory so I had to do something with the shafts.

What age are you and what do you play off? That is a fairly big jump in swing speed.

39 and 6hcp off of a course with 72.2/131 R/S. It all started with watching MSE on YouTube and I called B.S. on the system so I tried it myself. I was proven wrong and have seen a ton of things through the years that promises this or promises that but swinging a stupid shaft with no weight really does work. There are some videos floating around here with me swinging. I wish I would of recorded myself when I first started it. All I have is the launch monitor data from the range sessions. Looking forward to the practice rounds starting for my League in April. I have a regular group of 8 guys I play with and I have 2 that constantly outdrive me and both shoot par consistently because they are driving the ball over the trouble zones.

Hondabuff, just do some stretches maybe touch your toes a few times is all...

I had some back issues in my early mid 30's from tearing my hamstring doing P90x. Pretty much pulled my hips out of alignment and caused all kind of sciatic pain for over a year. Hip Dr. I saw at UPMC said I only had 45% flexibility in my left leg when he tested me. PT had me do nothing but stretching for my legs for 6 weeks and have not had a back issue ever since. I can flat hand touch the floor and my flexibility is still excellent. I only do the 21day fix work outs now and my kids make fun of me cause they say I'm working out with girls. Autumm Calabreses is easy on the eyes and I never feel the exercises are going to turn you into a Gorilla or a Navy Seal, just fit. 30 minutes and done and keeps me tuned up. P90x was just dumb and I personally don't recommend it. Watch them Tour Pro's on the range warming up, They do a ton of leg stretches.

Bought them, have been using them a little over to the last couple weeks. They're great. I went to Mexico after not touching a club for about six weeks. Was easily 4-5mph faster just based on my carry distances.

I made a set with old shafts, old golf balls, and a bunch of epoxy: cost me nothing! It's not much to look at but the weights are perfect. I am going to mix this in with another overspeed program I have been using off and on (which works really well when you keep at it). Stay tuned...

I assume you simply drilled hole in the golf balls, slide them on the tip of the shaft and glued them up. How many golf balls for each?

I used a mix of steel and graphite shafts. I think the balls were about 43 grams each once the holes were drilled. I had to fine tune the weighting by drilling some extra holes in some of the balls.
