Piretti Putters

Recommended Posts

What is the general consensus for Piretti putters? I've just started looking at some of them but have yet to actually roll one. I gravitate towards half mini-mallet shapes like a 330M and the Piretti Bosa has my interest. Just curious to hear from people who have rolled Piretti's and what your takeaway is/was.

I have a 2014 Proto as my gamer...and I can't see anything ever replacing it! I have rolled probably another dozen or so too. Super solid putters great quality. Feel varies depending on the material and milling...but I would say they have a dense soft clicky-ness to them if that makes any sense. Far superior to any off the shelf Scotty....I can't speak to the bespoke Scotty's...but I don't see very many people actually gaming them...so what's the point?

I can't see anyone being disappointed with a Piretti!

They are just ok to me. There were a lot of customer service issues a while ago. Never been wowed by one but they are a decent stick.

What customer service issues, can you point to a relevant thread here? A thread I found highlighted some issues ordering through Golfsmith, during GS' death spiral. When GS was bypassed the issues were sorted in an acceptable manner by Piretti.

My only interaction with them was face to face in Houston and it exceeded my expectations.

Thanks

I am currently gaming the Piretti Cottenwood II with a 365 gram head a love it! In the posted link the op could NOT feel the 375 gram head. I can certainly tell the 365g is heavier than my other putters so I don't think there was a valid issue. As far as finish it looks super to me. Does this look cheap? I highly recommend them. JMHO

I like this putter because the greens I play are slow. With the extra weight and a nice double fly cut the feel is great. A nice easy controlled stroke puts the ball right to the hole. The sound is very muted and the feel is super. I was surprised it had a try-sole. Actually this putter itself surprised me and it's not too heavy.

I had a cw2 and now have a PN Matera. I really like the tri sole, design shapes and feel. The 365g heads swing well.

I did like the look of the early putters *much* better than the new ones. All the lions and scrip look gaudy to me. I dunno what got in the water over there. Lol.. But you can't really see that from address anyway.

Appreciate all the responses. I went ahead and ordered up a Piretti Bosa (2014 model), still brand new in shrink wrap. Looking forward to getting it in hand. If I end up liking it I've already got my eye on the Bosa Copper Prototype. Only 50 of those were made I guess.

  • 2 weeks later...

On Friday at the PGA show just happened into the Piretti Golf booth. WOW. What great putters and really sincere non pushy people there. I ended up buying 2 Cortina 2 black onyx putters. I have Bettinardis, Scottys, Pings, Odysseys, Rifes, and have tested or gamed many other putters over the years. I have NEVER enjoyed the feel and performance with any of these as I have with the Piretti. On top of that, they are no more expensive than a Scotty or Bettinardi. In short, if it's better and costs the same????????? No brainer for me.

I now have 3 rounds in with my new Piretti Cortina 2 black. CONFIRMED! The best overall putter I've ever gamed and I've gamed quite a few. Played Grand Cypress in Orlando. New course Wednesday and Friday and South/East Thursday. Respective putts were 32 Wed., 30 Thurs., and 31 Friday. Had 4 birdies on Thursday with one being a chip in. I am still getting used to the sweet, steady balance of this putter. It is SOOOO good I literally have increased my confidence to the point I really believe I can make anything within 12 feet. Of course I don't, but I believe I can. I am very surprised that Piretti doesn't get more love/ play on here. And I forgot to mention,,The Grand Cypress greens are undulating and fast,,quite challenging.

The Cottenwood II sure surprised me too. Now you feel like you can make the long putts you will! Positive thinking on the putting green will lower your score and these putters seem to instill confidence. I have putters that cost 5 xs as much and the Piretti is in the bag have the time. I am also surprised I have not heard more of these putters.

Been eyeing these for a while now and my fiancé was looking over my shoulder one day seeing me checking them out(good thing I wasn't looking at something I wasn't supposed to be looking at). So she decided she wanted to get me one as an engagement gift.

I'm torn between the cottonwood II being an anser/anser 2 style fan(have a mizuno by bettinardi bc6/bb1 and a ping cadence anser 2 heavy in rotation currently) and the bosa since I've always wanted a kid mallet with plumbers neck in my rotation/stable. The original rife Aussie fit my eye just about perfectly but felt terrible. Saw that they came out with an updated version of it and still feels terrible.

Thought maybe the cottonwood II would be a nice compromise since it's kind of a widened anser 2 but that bosa is beautiful as well and appears like it would have a slightly higher moi. I know some here like thinner top lines on their putters and the bosa is on the thicker side, but it doesn't bother me much and I find that sometimes the extra thickness in the face gives a bit more solid feel.

Anyways, anyone want to help sway me in one direction or another?

Also, will pirerti do engravings on their otr black onyx putters?

Thanks!

Been gaming a Betti QB. Gamed it for years, couldn't get over the Matera flow neck. Bought it brand new on a closeout. It's great, been the best for my game. It just doesn't feel like my Betti. Maybe time will tell. I'm better with the Piretti, but I prefer the feel of the Betti.

My Cortino 2 is getting better each time I play. Does not have the "soft" feel of a scotty or betti,,rather has a "dense" feel. Distance control is unbelievable. Now 2 of my friends have ordered the exact same Piretti as mine. They watch my game and putting,,as well as the $ they pay at the end of our skins games.

They are very decent. Good attention to detail in construction. Nicely finished. Feel on well struck putts is good. Less so on off center hits.. The Bosa is one of the few small mallets that is not face balanced. I have a Bosa with the smaller Rosemark grip that I use frequently. I have a custom MannKrafted that I like a little better but it also cost twice as much as the Piretti.

They make a great putter imo. Never had anything bad to say about the customer service either. I just found a center shaft model for my collection. Ferrara.

Excellent quality. I made a bunch of putts with a Potenza 2 375g but the feel was a little too firm for my liking.

The new Elite line looks fantastic but pricey for not much customization. The price also doesn't include the weight kit.
