The coverage for the show really gets really boring. GolfWRX tend to cover all the major, existing brand with new products. All the same brands every year, which we can actually get information for these virtually anywhere in the Internet.

 

New, smaller companies like TPT Golf and Seven Dreamers got some coverage but none in the forum. I have spoken to these companies and I think they have a line of good (if not great) and exciting products with stories to tell. They might not be willing to sponsor, as they are new companies with limited budget to start with, but I think they are worth covering a little deeper.

 

Or maybe it is the site's policy to cover only the major brand name with marketing budget to burn? Or majority of the members are simply not interested in things/brands they do not know?

i think the guy in this thread who said he saw it at CES made it up because I went and looked at the CES show list of vendors and Flightscope wasn't listed. I don't like to call people liars and I wasn't at the CES show so I don't know but the evidence isn't supporting his claim

only downer on paper is that you need a metallic dot for the spin but for $500, I guess there had to be a downside. How accurate would carry distance be if you don't put a metallic dot on the ball and it doesn't know the spin?

I talked to them and they seemed fairly confident about accuracy even though it's only giving a portion of what their X2/X3 measures. If it's able to track the ball long enough, i guess it wouldn't need a spin reading to get an accurate carry value. Definitely interested to try it out.

There were 8 posts from day 1 which was the demo day but I have only seen 1 post from day 2 and one post from day 3 which seems odd. There is also nothing in the pga merchnadise show forum yet. I find this also strange

they've done a pretty poor job this year with the coverage...wish they would have spent the emphasis on the show since it only happens once a year instead of posting seemingly half the entire field's WITB at Torrey

Here is the info on the flightscope. Sorry to leave you guys in the dark for a couple days.

 

I saw this new product at the CES show in Vegas. It was the only product they were showing there and funny enough, there was no mention of it at their booth this week at the PGA show. I did however talk to them about it and make sure it was not confidential. They are just waiting for its launch in March.

 

So here you go guys. It's called the MEVO and it's pretty damn cool. Check it out at flightscopemevo.com for all the info.

 

Note: it does mention you need to use a metallic dot to read spin rates. I asked and they are a little sticky dot and they will come in a roll of 1000 for $25. So this will still be practical for range sessions. For those complaining about this just remember it's only $500.
