I'm getting those slazenger practice balls. Lol.
that's cheaper than my driving range. Is it socially acceptable to bring your own balls to a range?

I always ask the pro/owner/manager. Some welcome the free balls. Some think I'm weird. Some are absolutely against it.

Those against it are usually ones that only use a certain type of range ball or who don't want to give me "free" grass time. Grass is a premium for some.

I snatched up 2 boxes to give to my brother in law that is just starting out. He could very well lose a whole box during a round on some days. Also grabbed 6 of the Nike gloves. Can't really beat $5 for a glove. I have to use 3 in rotation during summer months here in FL.

I'm at Dicks right now and just witnessed a reason to NEVER buy a clubs from Dicks if you need advice (already knew that). A guy who is probably a 15+ hc is buying an XR16 driver. He wanted a 10.5 regular flex. It needs to be ordered and will take a week to get here. The "golf pro" who doesn't know anything convinced him to just get a 9 degree bc he can loft it up and to give a stiff flex a shot, that way he can walk out with a club. Do I say something to the guy? It is taking all of my willpower to stay out of it.

How can you tell stiff is the wrong shaft for this guy?

Dicks no longer has golf pros, but still pretty bad.

Just this week I went to go check to see if they were running the 50% trade in for Epics and the "pro" put me in the SZ but with the Rogue Max 65 stiff. 160 ball speed, 14 deg launch but 3200+ spin on GC2 and I told him I wanted to get the spin down about 8-900 rpm.

He told me I should just buy that setup now cause it was perfect... I actually laughed.

Then he told me he actually knows nothing about equipment and shafts, that's he's more a swing mechanics guy. Literally said I'd be better off reading equipment on the Internet.

At least he was honest.
