The tout velvet full cord is the best grip ever created. GP keeps trying to reinvent the wheel and get too fancy. Give us simple and tour validated, that's all we want,

Might have been a nice idea before adjustable drivers etc.... if you install one of those grips now , you might as well epoxy your settings forever .

 

This issue exists with the regular MCC and NDMCs as well b/c they're asymmetrical. I use them on all clubs except my driver, where I use a Winn Dri-tac Wrap.

 

I'm excited to see how this new alignment aid functions in practice though. I've always been one who's had grip issues (esp. when my swing starts to go ary). Just a slight reminder where the bottom of the grip is may be helpful. It's really no big deal to me cost-wise b/c I need to replace all my grips this season anyway and if I'm gonna pay for the MCC+4s anyway, might as well try this on one club first and see if it's legit.

Why the mcc+4 over mcc?

 

The only reason I see a reduce taper being effective is for people who's miss is a hook. And that is more of a swing thing va a grip fix.

Always been a fan of ribbed grips! Currently playing z cord midsize and am either going to make them ribbed or find some f the Tour only robbed- i love them. I think the reminder rib is extremely beneficial to your average golfer.

Believe the Plus4 ALIGN should be released as early as April 20. MCC ALIGN likely will be closer to early summer.

Golf Pride is currently in a LOCKIN TESTER PROGRAM.... chosen testers are picked to put the MCC PLUS 4 ALIGN thru the paces ....followed by survey. Expected release date is last week of MAY

The GP rep was in RD a few weeks ago and also said May for a release date. She mentioned the +4 would be first with others following later on

Is it me or is it kind of a buzz kill for GP to advertise these so far in advance, and then release them mid season after many folks have already regripped for the season? If I'm alone in this thinking I apologize, but just seems like they missed the mark as far as timing is concerned if you ask me.

1/3 of the PGA Tour uses a reminder grip on a weekly basis - sometimes more. Isn't think just marketing the reminder and making it more "visible technology?" If so, this is really nothing new.

 

I have played reminder grips on all my Clubs for years, minus the wedges since I manipulate the face on them often.

So got them put on a few clubs and i can tell you... you need to make sure you have a club maker that has an attention to detail.

 

The align line on the grip looked like was a traffic line painted by a frat boy during the late hours of St Patricks Day. I spent 20 minutes making it look acceptable after the fact.

Aesthetics and tough installations aside, they do work pretty well. I loved that i could feel the strip in the top knuckle of my right trigger finger when gripping the club. It let me release some tension and have confidence that i have the club gripped appropriately. I would be willing to put it on my other clubs or just have it on one of my clubs to keep my grip in check throughout the year.

I may be stating the obvious but i planned on having the club in the vise upside down and using a square to make sure the face was square. Then you just have to get the line on top and straight. Lots of solvent and air will be used on these!

Hi. Bruce Miller here with Golf Pride. I've been monitoring the posts on our new MCC ALIGN and am happy to answer any questions you guys have.

 

Overall, I would encourage players on here to reserve judgment until you actually install and feel this grip. It really is something unique and will help golfers of all ability levels.

 

For those that think this grip will be difficult to install, the opposite is true. It could not be easier. Install as you would a normal round grip. Make sure the installation marks or ticks on the front are lined up with the forward facing Golf Pride logo. All perpendicular to a square club face. The ALIGN red ridge on the back will then be straight. You can of course adjust as needed.

 

Traditional reminders are immeasurably more difficult to install. You cannot see the inner spine. It is all feel. The new ALIGN is both visual and amplified feel. Everything is better about this grip.

 

We develop grip technologies over an extended period of time. Testing on so many different levels is done to ensure the player experience with our product is well received. Even installation testing. We want to make grip installation easier, not more difficult.
