Although I agree that the Revolution Blacks are super cheap and soft they are not forged they are cast nickel with a chrome layer. I would know, I have a set of the Black and the Red dots.

I have sets as well.

They are not forged, correct. But I suspect he wants a soft set, thus the reason he asked for forged options......These are softer than most all forged clubs I have tried and flat out PERFORM

I think Nike's best forged club was the CCI. Very underrated. I gamed them for two years. They were very forgiving and durable for a forged iron. They felt and looked great!

That's exactly why i picked up a sweet set of Black's off ebay for $100. Fantastic reviews and cheap. Can't wait till spring.

I'll echo the MP-62 and MP-64. Far and away my two favorite player's CBs from Mizuno in terms of feel.

I'll toss in the MP-57 as well. I know they weren't one of Mizuno's most well received from its fanbase, but the iron got great reviews and is one of their more forgiving MP cavities. It's a great transition club from GI to Players iron. I played a set for a good 6 years, as a 14-18 HDCP, and loved them.

Wishon 560. Very forgiving, smooth feel and aesthetic look. Looks like a blade at address (mostly) with forgiveness of a cavity back.

Since they were fitted for someone they should be nicely made.

Had a set made (new) for well over this $300 dollar limit LOL.

Picked up a set off of EBay in like new condition with similar shafts for $150 shipped to the house.

Purchased them only to have a spare set of heads should my custom fitted ones need replacing

MacGregor V-Foils are the best irons I've ever hit and they can be had for crazy cheap.

When Baddeley was signed to Mac back in the day he said the were the best irons ever made for good reason.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the MacGregor Pro-C.

Don White designed, Miura forged. Done and done.

They were probably the last solid set MacGregor made. The 1025s were so flawless though I never went beyond them. I have Cs and Ms...the Cs are so easy to hit - they have to be the easiest set of forged irons I've ever hit.

I've been using a set of MP-32's since about 2012 and have yet to kick them out. I pretty much learned on them and while many perceive there are "easier" options to hit, I would definitely recommend the MP-32's if you're looking to take the game a little more serious. Or at least that's why I originally got them (originally bought some clones and it was the worst idea ever). It's helped my ballstriking and wedge play tremendously.

I've cheated on my Mizuno's by trying to make them my "backup set" and have churned and turned through many sets including: 2008 AP2's, Cobra Amp (those orange ones), Ping i15's, 714 AP2's, Nike Vapor Pro Combos, Nike Vapor Fly Pro (the blue and black), and recently the JPX-850. All were good, but just too thick for me. I couldn't get under the ball or strike it as well as my MP-32's. Plus, many of the newer ones like the 714 AP2's, Nike Vapor PC's, Fly Pro's, and JPX-850's all have juiced lofts. I like more of the traditional lofts or at least, a 7 iron to be a 7 iron and not have to think, "Okay, I'd usually use a 7 for this, but I'll the 8."

I had the KBS C-Taper 120 S+ in the MP-32's since I got them, but swapped them out last year with some Nippon Modus 3 120S shafts and I don't think I've ever cheat on my Mizuno's again.

Oh, and they're super soft too. If I just look at them, they get scratched.

OK....so my suggestion is this:

I recently bought (on EBay) a set of Mizuno JPW-EZ Forged irons for just over $300. But it gets even better. They were listed as "mint" but when I received them they were all still in the plastic. I suspect that Mizuno will not allow a dealer to advertise (or sell for that matter) a "new" set for less than MAP, so these guys listed them as "mint". There were actually several dealers selling them on EBAY. I waited through several auctions until I got the price I was looking for and paid $318. In the 2016 golf.com irons review they were reviewed nicely, you can find that review at the link below:

http://www.golf.com/equipment/mizuno-jpx-ez-forged-irons-review-clubtest-2016

I have just started playing them and they feel great. Taking a little getting used to as I come from T/M RSi-1's with considerably less offset.
