Scotty Tip Size

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

Ok here’s another. Decided on the Squareback keeping its single bend proprietary shaft, BUT... I just bought a Studio Stainless Newport 2.5, which has the flow neck. It’s 32”, and I’m 6’5”. Rather than extending it 5”, it’s getting reshafted. What tip size is the flow neck? I know the plumber necks are generally .355, is that the same for the early 2000 flow necks?
I really like KBS CT putter shaft, as it’ll match my brushed c taper irons and wedges. Which is offered in .355 or .370 for the straight shaft. Help?

I realize after writing this there’s mention on the first page of flow necks being proprietary shafts... I really don’t want to have to mail it to the custom shop and pay $67 for reshaft. Saw another mention of .382 or close for a different flow neck Scotty. Could I call some of these custom putter refinishers? This putter was bought on the bay yesterday, so I won’t have it for 8-10d prob, means I can’t get calipers on the hozel until then. I was hoping to get grip and shaft in the mail now so it all arrives close together. Have seen some flare neck Scotty shaft pulls on the bay, but what replaced all of those shaft pulls!? I just want a custom shaft (mostly to just extend it from current 32” to 37” for my tall a**), how come it’s so hard!?

I do believe this is a standard .382 bell shaft and not proprietary.

My newport 2.5 is a .395 tip. Older scottys o believe are .382 oddly. 382 is a larger diameter than my .395 shafts

I'm thinking about tricking out my 2014 GoLo 3 in a number of different ways, and a graphite shaft is one of them. Can't find word on hosel dimensions anywhere. Does anyone know what tip this putter will take?

Anyone please Scotty Cameron Hollywood putter tip size.

I don't know the exact size, but I do know that the shafts in the modern over the hosel flow necks are a proprietary parallel tipped shaft from Nippon. I haven't read of an aftermarket substitute or equivalent.

Ya it’s bigger then .370 as that didn’t fit.  Does anyone know a shaft I can buy that will fit.

I thought I had purchased one from Golfworks for my Sonoma, but can't recall which one it was.

Current Golfworks offerings don't seem to have one, because the OD of the putterhead knob/ID of shaft is 0.350"

And you need to have that ID in a straight taper.

The ones that are flared won't fit all of the way onto the spud at the end of the putter hosel.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I've searched high & low but can't find a definitive answer to the tip size in my Studio Select Fastback 1.5 (as seen here). I have two of these beauties, and am about to send one to get refurbished & pimped but don't know what shaft I need to get other than it's a flare tip. I've read that it's maybe .382 and maybe .390, but I don't want to throw money away on maybes. Can anyone shed any light?

I think I can help.

I purchased the exact same putter (studio select fastback 1.5) and sold the head to a person on here.

I still have the shaft.

I can try to locate and measure it for you.

I measured the flare tip and the ID is 0.385'ish I'd say, maybe it gets close to 0.390 at the very end, but it's hard to get it to stop there without pulling the calipers slipping out.

The OD is over 0.40"

That's great info, thanks heaps @geochitown👍🏻

I'm thinking the best solution is to take the conservative route and get a .420 shaft. At least if it's too big I can just trim the tip until it's snug. Can't go the other way if it's too small. 😐
