How does G400 confuse people?

For one some people in this thread have said the new driver is 400cc.

I got to see all the new stuff yesterday. Due to my realationship with my sales rep and that i'm a demo tech I don't want to put too much out there. The new line is called the G400. The driver is NOT 400CC. But it also not 460CC. Headshape looks great. I think everyone here will really enjoy it. Same adjustability. There also be a few additions to the Sigma G putter line. I think everyone will be very happy with an additional Tyne model.

Sooooo plumbers neck Tyne? Flow neck Tyne? Red Tyne?

Not going to lie... this sounds pretty promising.

When I got fitted for the 2016 TM equipment, I was picking up a solid 2-3 mph club head speed with the 430 vs the 460... and I was only swinging it at 100-103 then, so it's not like I was a high swing speed player, or anything.

If Ping can come out with something in the 430-440 cc range, that retains the forgiveness and spin properties that the G LS has (or G30 LS, for that matter), that would be huge. Smaller head, for a more compact look and an instant bump in head speed, with no trade-off in forgiveness would be something worth giving a try.

Now i didn't get to see how they are increasing forgiveness and making it smaller but knowing ping they some how did.

Any intel on the new G400 irons?

That is what interests me the most are any G irons but don't see any mention of it in his post so maybe later in the year...or not until next year :-(

G400 irons will be out the same time as everything else. Going to have the same finish as iblade and i200. Now sure how everyone will react when they see the back of the cavity.

Thats not exactly a vote of confidence for how the back of the cavity looks. Sounds like perhaps a departure from the last few generations. I had figured it would looks somewhat like the i200. Either way I am excited to see them...and then maybe I won't be after I see them :-)

Saw all the new stuff today. Driver(s) looks awesome. 445 CC. Weight on sole is Tungsten which plays a key role in maintaining same forgiveness/launch characteristics of G but in a smaller package. Forged face!? Sits very square at address, almost looked open to my eye. FW wood and Hybrid look very similar to current model...turbulators a bit more pronounced. Alta CB shaft throughout line in new color scheme that looks copper in the light but black at address. Pretty slick. One interesting thing of note, especially for this crowd...3 premium shafts will be offered at only a $45 upcharge. Marketing launch (pics) July 10, release July 28.

Darn. No added face angle adjustment cog for back to square if one goes + or -.

Personally I don't feel it is bad all at. Just with the amount of dislike for the iE1 with just a simple blue stripe that these will not get a good reception. Finish looks good and a very clean top line look

So we should expect heavy badging and more colours on the G400 irons?

No resemblance to the Mizuno JPX-850 I hope...

Can anyone state whether the dragonfly scheme will still be on the driver?

Hope the Tour65 continues to be offered as it's my favorite driver shaft of all time.

Rumor has it the adapter will be the same so at least you can stick a Tour 65 in there if they change the "Tour" shaft offerings.
