Evnroll & Toulon VS Scotty Cameron

Recommended Posts

So I own 3 Scotty's (Futura X, X7M, and Notchback-2016) and I honestly can say I am thinking about selling all of them to bankroll an Evnroll ER2 and Toulon Atlanta.

I think the options of these 2 young companies are very exciting and more up my alley than the Scottys. There are a lot of little things I really enjoy about these 2 companies that Scotty doesn't offer... 355-370g head range, possible plumber neck on the atlanta (last scotty plumber neck mallet was the squareback 2.0 from 3 generations ago), heads made in the USA rather than China (I believe, at least the Evnroll). Lower counterbalance weights of 25-30g rather than 50g or nothing, evnroll's face technology, etc...

What are your thoughts on these 2 newer companies VS scotty in your opinions?

I think you should add Edel to this list. Spending $300+ on a putter I'd like to know that it is fit for me. I went through an Edel fitting in January and highly recommend it to anyone thinking about it. Even if you don't plan on buying you will realize what head shapes and alignment aids work and don't work for you.

Why do people still believe this?

if Evnroll face technology was a game changer wouldn't every tour player be using it?

Cameron's are also made in the USA.

Toulon putters all look very nice. Haven't tried one yet, but hope to soon. They have a lot of good looking head shapes.

Fancy face millings come across a bit gimmicky to me to be honest. So the faces of the Toulon and Evnroll's don't do much for me. The Evnroll faces look better/more simple than the Toulon's though.

I put my money on Lamont Mann. He's a pretty good size dude. And his hands look like he's actually worked in his life. Cameron has girl hands Jerry ! No contest !

Bought a Toulon, it was returned. Not a fan, but sure wanted to be.

What did you dislike about it?

Largely the feel and the weight. I tried to force myself to love it in the store and then on the course and it was just not for me. It was the San Diego model. I use an anser 2 style putter and I have to say that the Toulon wasn't in the ballpark for me with feel compared to the one in the bag.

Right now I'm a fan of Toulon and will be for a while. I've had Camerons that I've played and sold, and I have a custom Byron and Lajosi that I will never sell. Always wanted to try a mallet and the Toulon Memphis has been in the bag since release. The shape fits my eye and it has great feel off the face. They're trying new things with the upcoming releases. The Atlanta might tempt me, but we'll see. It all comes down to what makes you putt better.

I find Toulon really clicky. Lot of guys like that but it's just not the feel I like....

And to add on to that, I really DIDN'T want to like the new Spider Tour Black, but I'm now saving my money to purchase one because it seems automatic inside 10 feet. I didn't think I would like the firm feeling of the insert as I've been a scotty guy forever, but it actually works really well for me. Damn you TM!

I had two evenroll putters. I did not enjoy them. Edel (e1) is really ugly but works well for me

I'm the exact opposite lol. I have 2 evnrolls and now I'm looking into a third! They have pretty much eliminated 3 putts for me as I would tend to mishit my putts a lot when making a larger stroke. Can't beat no 3 putts! :D

I've played the Evnroll ER2, Scotty Cameron Select Newport, Piretti Cottonwood II, and Toulon San Diego. The Evnroll has a nice feel to it, but I didn't care for the sound. The ball seems to stay on the face for a while too. I really wanted to like it, but I went back to my Scotty Select Newport after trying the Evnroll. Ended up playing with a Piretti Cottonwood II Rev 2.0 375g and love it. Definitely heavier than the others in this post, but very stable, solid, and soft feel. I recently tried out a Toulon San Diego, but not impressed. Very clacky feel to it. It's beautiful, and the face design with the diamond grooves I think is fantastic, but just not a good feeling putter to me compared to my Scotty Select or Piretti Cottonwood.

I got started on Scotty’s and have been gaming a carbon steel Byron 007 for the last 10 years but it’s time for a change. I have tried just about every model of both Toulon and Evnroll but neither came out on top for me.

On Thursday I’m getting fit for an Edel and I can’t wait. Won’t be as pretty as my 007, but the prettiest site is the ball going in the hole and that hasn’t been happening enough.

I've tried with Scott's. Think I've had 6 or so in the past 3 years. They all looked amazing but none ever felt "right". Bought a custom ER2. Excited to try it out in the coming weeks.

I have been the same. Had 7 or 8 Scotty's over the years because they look amazing but I just never like the way they feel and sell them after a few rounds. You would think I would learn.

I bought an ER2 last Summer and have never putted better. Best feeling putter I have ever owned.

I don't know if the milled face has anything to do with it or not but I find consistency of pace very easy with it which cuts down on 3 putting and makes hoping slopey 10-15ft putts a lot easier.
