Good device for a lot of people. Just make sure its turned ~30 degrees to the aft side of the shaft. I use it to take out some of the overset in the wrists.

Did DC explain why?

I can't remember, but I saw an IG video of Tom Pernice and he had set a little on the strong side as well. I believe it's so the clubface matches the spine angle and doesn't get to open.

I have a feeling DC sets it that way to address that student's fault but that's my guess. The instructions do mention that one will hit it right if you're too handsy through impact. The idea is to rotate the body and it squares things up. I found that to be true IME.

I set it up around 12:30 / 1 because a more neutral position of the PP aligned with the leading edge of the club is meant for a neutral / weaker grip. If you play with a strong grip, you'll be able to hinge the club but won't be able to bow / flex the lead wrist due to the forearm cups.

12:30 / 1 works better to get a little more flexion in lead wrist but it's difficult to groove that bc of the cup design.

The only limitation I've found experimenting with the PP is that it's not ideal for a strong left hand + neutral right hand when set at 12:30 / 1. You'll need to strengthen that right hand grip as well to ensure the right cupping during takeaway.

Hope this helps anyone thinking about the PP.

So do you set it at 12, or a little towards 1 o'clock?

Maybe Dan could give his comments on the matter if he's reading this.

Great device. Also helps excessive down-cockers.

  • 2 weeks later...

I ordered mine and got it 2days ago. I haven't hit any balls with it yet, but have done some swings inside. The first thing I feel it does for me is make turn through impact a lot more than I'm used to (instead of flipping I guess). I'm happy with it so far, and can't wait to hit some balls with it.

do you know if this would help with hooding the face in the first foot of the backswing? Its something I've done for years but cant stop it
I believe it would help with hooding the face because unless you are hooding the face by moving the club in your hands instead of by arm manipulation, you wouldn't be able to get the Power Package where it needs to be, showing you that you have done something wrong.

Power Package is an easy premise and has been great so far in the week or so I've had it. That being said, it'll take lots of swings and time with it to break an old habit... But that's true for all things when trying to do something correct vs incorrect.

So what’s up with this? People still using? Good/bad?
I'm loving it so far. I made the purchase on recommendation from Martin Chuck (Tour Striker) after he did a video swing analysis on me and he was spot on with what he suggested and why it works. This thing is quite a simple tool, but I think will lead to big changes for me.

This thing is fantastic.... But it's showing me my flexibility is not. Really like how easy it is to use. Shown me that my downswing needs to start in a different fashion and that I need to get rotation through the ball. Going to see my instructor soon to get it all figured out. Highly suggest this for what seems like a lot of different swing issues that people may have.

Any other users out there that can comment on their use of this?
