Power package golf

I’ve got one but have only taken partial swings in the basement. I think it has merit but use had been limited at best.

This device reminds me of the old swingyde. For those that have used both, is the power package that much better?
It's more sturdy than that, and having the second wing is great. Took a little while to get used to, but taking full swings at the dome today and keeping the hinge extra long was great. Hit some extremely solid shots. Following the videos they have are helpful. As I said, takes practice though. Not easy but really helpful if you stick with it. My biggest issue is the follow through and rotating... because I like to flip the clubface up instead of rotating through to the left.

I got mine used. Did it come with videos? Are they online? Is there an order in which to watch them?

So what are your thoughts so far? I hope the videos gave you some guidance.

I'm about a month in. I've still got my issues, but the ball striking is better. I love that it tells me immediately what I'm doing wrong.

I've noticed I'm certainly moving away from my Over the Top issue and overall loose swing.

I'm still struggling with rotating through after impact, which obviously shows when I can't get my arms into...but that's something to work on.

Which I continue to do. I'll try to put up some video to compare the before and after if I can get some this weekend.

Any updates on this? Anyone used it extensively at this point?

Great feedback - thanks.

This one intrigues me as a simple tool that can be used while actually hitting balls. I don’t have an OTT move but I can stall body rotation as well as anyone.

Can’t wait to see the swing comparison!

Yeah the body rotation is tough because I tend to send the face to the sky instead of rotating it as it should after impact. A work in progress... But it'll get there. Really happy with this thing and the discount code helped make it even more paletable.

Alright so here's a video of me using it this weekend. Really starting to help my posture and the collapse at the top. Has helped me start to get a better path on the downswing for sure. Ball seems to be firing off faster. Feels like a lot less work. Still struggling a bit on the follow through... But I'll get there.

In comparison, here is my swing back in December before I started this journey.

So I’ve played around with this quite a bit now.

I like it - sturdy, and intuitive and simple to use.

What I didn’t expect is that my forearms naturally seem to land in the right spot, which is extremely heartening bacause I had a hugely laid off swing until this Winter.

Passive brag... As such I can’t really learn a ton from this right now, but it’s worth its weight in gold just to know my flexibility work and practice with MirrorVision is paying off. It’s a great guide and is really useful for focusing me on fully rotating through the shot.

Love this thing!

Do they stay in there until impact as well? That's a hard part for me. Send me your flexibility regimine!

They actually don’t. I try to keep good lag, but I’m trying to initiate release prior to this.

I checked his videos, and even though he mentions to keep them in right until impact A) that seems like a delayed release, and B) judging from his videos he doesn’t keep them fully in til impact either.

...and I want your handicap!

So, my shoulders are very inflexible, which inhibits high hands. It's getting a lot better. Here are the DIY components to my shoulder stretching...

1) A shoulder stretcher to use while lying down. Made from the handle of a snow scraper (keeping the foam handles) cut down with a chop saw, and epoxied into 5lb weights. The main benefit of these are that you can walk your fingers down the foam handles as your shoulder flexibility improves and - most importantly - you can just hang out on the floor and watch TV out of the corner of your eye. I don't say it lightly... I detest stretching, so anything that can take my mind away from the fact that I'm stretching is a huge bonus. FYI I hold a mild stretch for at least 3 mins. 30 second does nothing for me. My TPI guy said that 3-4 mins is enough for your brain to allow you to stretch the muscle... it's all muscle spindles and motor units and other stuff I don't understand...

2) A homemade 7ft stretching stick (think Stick Mobility) made from 1" CPVC pipe and then jazzed up with two drilled-out lacrosse balls, carbon fiber wrap, and tennis racket grips. A more sane person would just buy a Stick Mobility stick online, but I made this before I knew that existed. There are simple stretching 'flows' on YouTube.

Here are some snapshots form the PPG intro video. When I slowed it down it looked like his release wasn't that different from mine, and while the feeling is probably like holding the angles to the bitter end the reality seemed - to me - to be a little different:

Thanks again for the discount code... This thing is awesome!

Thanks for the updated feedback on this device. I actually bought one several months ago but never broke it out of the box. Now that I'm working with my instructor again, I think this tool may be helpful.

I don't have a big issue with making contact consistently, it's rolling my wrists over appropriately. Do you think this tool would help with that? My body rotation has improved a lot but I can see the value in this keeping on plane and helping to fight the over the top.

Rolling on the backswing or downswing? I think it'll help both ways. Check out the videos to help out with the product. Really good stuff. Simplicity is amazing for a golf swing.

That's what I struggle with as well. This is great for that. If you don't release, your arms won't find the cups. So you have to really practice doing it. The last video on their site talks about that.
