Padraig Says Sergio Was A Sore Loser...

When you're in the public spotlight some people are going to like you, some won't. I have no problem with Harrington sharing his opinions on Sergio, that's part of why he's there in the booth.

Sergio has been known to be a sore loser and have a bad attitude for most of his career along with being a choker in big tournaments. I'm happy for him that he won a Major, but the win doesn't change who he's been for the majority of his career.

Hey, Paddy.....EFF YOU!

Sounds like sours grapes because Sergio finally wins a major while your career is in tatters.

Career in tatters, he's 45 years old, not many of his peers still that relevant. He's older than David Duval! And he won last year as well.

Only 6 months since Paddy's last win - Portuguese Masters on European Tours (if that counts on this board!). Yes, his career nothing like Garcia's now but I think all bar about 10 current touring professional golfers wouldn't swap Harrington's career for theirs.

Garcia won the European Amateur at 16, British Amateur at 18, Irish Open and 2nd at a major at 19. When you consider Harrington only turned professional at 24, fair to say who has got more out of his lot.

Yes.....in tatters.

Beating out Vasco da Gama for the Portuguese Masters is nothing to shout about.

i like padraig but this seems like a bit out of character even for him.

imagine if justin was the one who made those comments?

we all have bad breaks in life some learn and grow from it and some don't.

its just magnified and sensationalized when your famous and a pro and people

see it televised. he's matured move on.

i didn't read all the previous posts but from what i saw in the past Sergio WAS not very gracious when things were not going his way and am sure it has cost him..

having said that what i saw in this years Master was a more mature Sergio both mentally and emotionally and his victory was well-deserved and long overdue...

i will not be surprised if -like Phil-he wins multiple majors in the future and wish him the best of luck!

It's not like it's a big secret that Sergio is a puss!.........I've been up close at a dozen tournaments, he's a tool!!.....lol

It would seem that now the roles have been reversed and it's Paddy that's the sore loser.

Paddy 3, Sergio 1.......lol

Fair enough, but Padraig 45 and Sergio 37

There's that too! Sergio got time

Exactly. Sergio still has the game, Paddy... not so much. At least when it comes to being able to win a Major.

So at a strike rate of one every 93 times, to get to 3 should only take........

Paddy got his three pretty close to each other. Sergio may do the same.

Didn't he beat Ryder Cup player Andy Sullivan?

Not sure what all the Paddy hate is about. Sergio has made plenty of punk moves over the years, and Paddy got to see his level of sportsmanship up close during those major duels. I think he is entitled to make those comments. He isn't saying anything really bad about Sergio, just stating the bleeding obvious that Sergio is a bad loser. Sergio has a long history of poor behaviour on course, nothing groundbreaking from Paddy.

I think Sergio deserves credit for turning things around, but he still did all those things like spitting in the cup and all the surly pressers after losses. And the fried chicken jibe to tiger is something that shouldn't be let go either.

I don't know that it always goes that linearly, they are not robots (well, Martin Kaymer is). Harrington is probably the best example of that actually.

Sergio is someone whom I find "easy" to like despite his past boondoggles. Paddy is someone whom I find it "difficult" to like in spite of his never having done anything to deserve that feeling. I also feel the same about Mickleson vs Couples and DJ vs Rory. There is something in the human psyche that generates these feelings both in the observer,,and in the observed. It is the "gut" feelings we have as human animals that we simply cannot ignore. It is instinct and we should all pay attention to it's meaning.

Funny you say that. My gut tells me the same about all 3 pairs. 99 times out of 100 it's correct. Something about Harrington , Rory and Fred that just give me the David Simms vibe .

Agreed.

I am glad Sergio won, but his overall behavior is that of a spoiled child. I don't think Paddy said anything that wasn't true.

I've seen Sergios horrible attitude up close at Open's, I've heard from players directly who played with him and never want to repeat it.

Yes, Sergio isn't a good sportsman like Jack or Arnie or Player, yes he can play good golf and yes he's interesting to watch, just dont get on the wrong side of him as he is very self centred. But hey ho, isnt it great that we are all perfect!
