John Senden - saw him at the PGA Championship about 10 yrs ago. Super classy guy. Asked a photographer if they needed any specific shots, took care of the people walking alongside his group (marshal, scoreboard, etc..). He even went out of his way at the end to ask if anyone needed any autographs they weren't able to obtain yet and he would go inside to see if he could get them from the locker room. From that day on, I liked the guy, because he got it - he understood his position and he took time to take care of the folks who make it possible for him to play golf and make a living.

Matt Kuchar after giving the his hole in one ball to the kid at the Masters - the guy gets it.

Favs who I have watched in person over the years both when they were "in the hunt" and out of it. Also, interacted great with fans signing autographs, etc.

Bob Estes

Martin Kaymer

Brandt Snedeker

Monty (Yes, Monty!)

Brad Faxon

Rickie Fowler

Matt Kuchar

I have heard Monty is a great guy in person. Maybe not so much when being heckled. But then, think about it, is there any golfer who was gracious when being heckled? Maybe Jack - Arnie's Army had a reputation for being unruly.

Ken Duke is a great guy, got us tickets to the CDN Open and as we followed him kept giving us the thumbs up and was awesome.

Sneds seems like a great guy. GMAC, Rickie, Rose, Adam Scott all seem like class acts.

Funny, the guys we are all talking about are all pretty fast players as well

Of the younger crowd, I like Spieth and Fowler. Can't tell enough about Thomas yet. I kinda like Reed, but he has a DB quality about him too. I'm a fan of Phil mainly because he is willing to admit it when he does stupid things. And he tells you exactly what's on his mind. He's the anti-TW.

My all time favorite is Freddy.

Kuchar is another favorite in the 30-something set. He just loves being out there and not full of himself. His commercials are awesome.

I'm going to say Justin Thomas is a good guy. I knew his dad when I was growing up and he was/is a good man. Consummate PGA pro, excellent man and respected by his peers.

Nicolas Colsaerts seems like a pretty cool bloke.

Came here to say the same. I've seen him in quite a few random youtube videos and he seems like a funny dude. Maybe not the "classiest" but I'm pretty sure he's well liked

One name that no one has mentioned is Nick Watney. I've never heard or read a bad word about him. Apparently, his nickname is Rube (after Rube Baker, the catcher in Major League II) because he's unfailingly polite.

That's not the normal definition of a rube. Generally calling someone a rube is an insult.

Agreed. I think whoever came up with the nickname was comparing him to the movie character (who fit the normal definition), not implying that he was an unsophisticated person.

Joking aside, I'm a little surprised no one's mentioned MA Jimenez or Angel Cabrera yet.

Being a golf nut and having spent most of my adult life in the UAE I've bumped into many a tour player. MAJ, GMac, David Howell, Rory, Kjeldsen, Chris Wood, David Green, Stenson, Monty, Paul Lawrie etc etc. I can say one thing for sure. They are all extremely gracious, friendly and down to earth people. They appreciate nothing more than an acknowledgment and maybe a quick 30 second chinwag about nothing whatsoever. But it is very important to not overstay your welcome. Say hi, talk crap for a short while, wish him the best and move on.

Paul Lawrie is a great guy, he doesn't take any nonsense and I can't imagine that he suffers fools very easily but to have a quick chat with he is very good. I have seen him like that at events where he is playing or spectating and I have seen him that way at his Golf Centre in Aberdeen. I do cringe sometimes at his responses on Twitter but I think that is more to do with the fact that he was an adult before the advent of social media.

While helping out in the repair tent in Abu Dhabi I once bent his wedge about half a degree up or down or something. He gave me two dozen golf balls, two gloves and a hat for that.

Should've bent the thing ten degrees. :taunt:

Els, Stricker, Scott, Furyk, Kaymer, Kuchar, Fowler, "Meat", Donald, Weekly.

Still don't understand why Rickie was the only pro who showed up at the Opening ceremony. Where TF were the other players? You are all in the area, or on the grounds...get your butts over to the first tee and honor the guy who has enabled you to provide for your families...by MAKING MONEY PLAYING GOLF !!!!

Saw Els a couple years ago at Deutch Bank in Boston. Some guy said "Go Get 'Em Big Easy" and Els stopped and starting swearing at him. No reason for it. Couple of young kids around as well. Wouldn't watch him play golf if it was the only thing on television

Reed lives in Houston, used to be in the same neighborhood as my club. You'd see him ripping around in new red Lambo.

Not a good reputation around here.

Here's a picture of him in it with Feherty at Bluejack...

Fortunate to live on The Tournament Course at The Woodlands Country Club the old home of the Shell Houston Open and interacted with several of the players over the years and then for the Insperity.

Loren Roberts, Fred Funk, Duffy Wladorf, Fuzzy Zoeller, Craig Stadler, Andrew McGee, Jhonathan Vegas, Justin Leonard, Chris Stroud - Super Nice Guys

Fuzzy is well known for giving the locker room guys big tips and thanking them. Tiger was berated personally by Jackie Burke years ago when The Players Championship was played at Champions for being a cheapskate and not tipping the locker room attendent, word is Jackie forced him to give them a $100. Freddie Couples is also cheap and one year he won the Insperity and after he posed for the cameras they asked him to sign some of the pin flags for Charity Auction and he bolted said he was to busy.

Vijay Singh, Bernhard Langer, Curtis Strange,Patrick Reed, quiet loners but nice when spoken to.

Peter Jacobsen and Lannie Wadkins nice if the camera is nearby but if not don't get in their way.

However the biggest a**hole of all is Roger Clemmons who at a charity Pro-Am berated a locker room attendent for handing him a water bottle with the label still on it and Clemmons ripped it off the bottle and exclaimed "I don't endorse anyones product unless they pay me". He didnt want to be seen walking on the course with a water bottle with a brand name and the event wasnt even being filmed, he is a Class A Jerk. This was before the Steroid use came out. At the same event Johnny Bench and Jeff Bagwell were playing and they are super nice guys.

Most of the professional golfers are great guys but very focused so dont interact a lot. I find the guys on the Champions Tour much more appreciative of the fans and thankful for their opportunity to make money playing a game they love.

Several years ago, for kicks I took a 1995 Ryder Cup program out to the Toshiba. Found Monty and when he signed it we had a 10-15 minute conversation about the Ryder Cup. I was glad there was a backup on the tee because he was in a chatty mood. Thought that was awesome.

Stricker and Scott are good calls.

I really like the way Ricky Fowler handles himself. I mean he came into the scene as kind of flamboyant rock star (marketing, medie image?). On the course he is a very cool guy. No antics, no over the top reactions. Very likeable.

I agree. Wish he'd win more often.
