Golfnow is now running course tee sheets

Stopped using golfnow a couple years ago when courses caught up and started offering better deals with no fees, so I don't know if this is old news or what.

But I was looking to book a tee time tomorrow, to play with a buddy who lives in a different county. We are splitting the drive, So I'm looking at courses I don't usually play.

Every single one of courses online booking systems defaults to some teeitoff site that charges a fee, and it says the charge will show up as golfnow on your statement.

Now get this, they are charging your card double what the booking fee is, and you pay the difference at the to the course.

It's after hours and we are playing at 6, so I figured booking online was the best bet.

If You just show up, 99% of the time they try to give you a hard time, and charge you the full rack rate.

I thought teeoff and golfnow were separate companies. We have a few local courses that are booked by teeoff also.

Can't beat Hot Deals here in the DFW area. Only time I use it. Other than that, just call course

As far as I know...teeoff.com is actually owned by the PGA Tour now. I used to use it more than GN but courses in the KC area have jumped from teeoff to GN lately for some reason.

Very high service fee.. Now, they changed the policy on Promo Code usage.. You have to reserve 3 days in advance.. Such a BS...

I ran into something similar Sat. night. The course posted rates were $29 w/cart after 1 for a Sun. twilight tee time. I went to book it through their online booking and it took me to Golfnow with a rate of $39. I went to another course to book online and it took me to Golfnow and said something about I must be sleeping right now and to try again later. It was in the middle of the night. I went to another course and they had their own booking system and I booked my tee time for that course. I always called the course I wanted to play directly in past years then in recent yrs. I got use to booking online for convenience. I guess I'm back to calling the course or booking online with a course that doesn't go through a middle man with higher than advertised rates.

The part that really got me was that they charged my card more than the booking fee, And then split difference between the two tee times.

So on top of covering the booking fee, I paid part of my buddy green fee, essentially paying almost $10 more than he did just because I booked the time.
