Driver for me unfortunately. I had the same tour issued 975D in my bag for quite some time and then a TM tour 360 that was money and moved to a 300 tour that was awesome and then a tour LFE and on to a tour 983 K that probably should go back in the bag. Ever since going to the larger 400cc plus drivers it has been even more of a revolving door.

Chitown I am also a 3 wood junkie. Not becuase I don't like any of them but because I like ALL of them. I must own 20 3 woods.

JC i envy you. I dont share the love for 3 woods like you

Used to be 3 wood but since I put the sonartec in it has not left in a year and the driver has been the same for the last year and a half. The club that gets the most rotation for me is the 60° wedge. Suffered from the yips chipping and pitching so I was changing it out like underwear but it is getting steadily better so far this season.

That would be 3 wood for me, likewise, I like most of them. I know I've owned few of JC's old 3 woods and all of them have been excellent including his latest one, Orlimar 14* w/Pro95

3 wood and putter. Trying a couple 200 Tours at the moment, not sold on either yet. So far my 3 wood is about 2 months older than my flatstick. I like a heavy putter that will cause my backstroke to be less yippie, I've found the mid sur cut down is a good heavyweight at 375 grams. But the putter is definately in constant rotation.

I've had the same 3 wood for a few years now. steelhead plus. The 300 tour was in the back for 2/12 years, now I've moved on to a 905.

I'd say I switch my wedges out the most. Sharp grooves are a must for me so ever 4 or 5 months I get a new set of 900s, or at least a new 60*. My putter is a close second all though as hard as I try, I cant get this BG MOI out of the bag.

Im shocked that no one said their putter.

1087[/snapback]

I would've said the putter but with my mental state of putting, it isn't any putter's fault but my own mind's fault that I'm not making any of my putters work well for me.

If you want to say what is most "tempermental" part of my game that does not include any clubs, that would be my negative mental state of mind. I'm too negative to make anything work.

I thought about this before opening the post and the 3 wood foated to the surface. Just not repetable with it. Exsagerates teh faults more than most of the clubs.

Maybe the lesson is to slow down and dont reach as much. I and typically trying to exceed the yardage that is normal for that club.

Now that I see the putter in the mix I could easily make a case for that.

  • 1 month later...

I'd have to say putter. I'm on my fifth new one this month. I don't know if it's just that I'm getting old and have got the yips, but my putting is just horrible. I'm practicing every day and trying every grip imaginable but nothing seems to be working. I'm not three putting, just not sinking anything with confidence.

I had the same problem...then I bought a pair of ProAims and a putter that I really liked to look at (Newport Beach 1.5). I've never taken the ProAims outside the house (trust me, you'll look like an idiot with them on), but I've used them a lot indoors, putting on the carpet etc. My putting(stroke) is MUCH better. I used to have 0 confidence in my putting, but now I'm actually a pretty decent putter.

My driver is always the first to go.

For some reason I will change putters as well but it is either my Tour Cameron or my Tour Bobby Grace.

3 wood is denitely the most rotated, but the putter is a close second.

:busted_cop: I'm sorry, I couldn't help but laugh. I purchased the Pro Aims about fifteen putters ago and used them for awhile. I was the idiot hiding in the corner of the putting green with them on. ;)

They do work well, and it's really weird because even when I'm not using them, the "track" seems imprinted in my head where I can look down at the ball without the glasses and see the lines. It helped with alignment, and aim, but I'm still not dropping the putts. Maybe I better start using them again and go hide in the corner of the putting green.

Oh, that is my 3 wood for sure. I see the long fairwaywood as a 'got-to-hit-the-fairway' club and it HAS to be easy to hit from the deck - therefore I'm pretty hysterical with it. As several of us are, I can see :busted_cop:

In the last few seasons I've gone through these:

Titleist 975

200 retail, 3 shaft setups

R580 titanium

2 Vsteels with 2 different shafts

200tour railhead 3 different shafts

Cleve steel launcher

Sonartec SS03

The way I bomb my Comp 460, the Comp fw with a Prolaunch 75 will be the next student in the bag ;)

We'll see

Soeren

My bag
TM SIM2 Max driver, G425 Max woods, Titleist 818 hybrid, Srixon Z565 irons, Vokey SM7 wedges, Yes Tracy III putter

NO CLUB IS SAFE.. IN MY BAG!!!!! or shaft for that matter..LOL!

I have had the same putter in the bag for a year- which in 'putter years' thats a lifetime!

wedges- 5 rounds so far and look to make the cut!

Irons- 2 rounds and are performing well.. so we will see...

hybrid- 10 rounds and looking good, just don't use them much- when the driver and 3w are working!

3W- 12 rounds, made the cut and looking to find a top 14!!!(Tour T60- amazing weapon when mated with a apache mfs 85!)

Driver- 2 rounds, doing well, but might need some tweekage(last driver made it 6 months!)

I just had an epiphany last week... changing my clubs every single week, might hurt the consistancy in my game... lol,

I'm not sure if it's because I'm broke, equipment has reached a peak, I'm playing better, but I just don't feel the urge to hoe as much this year... up until last year, I was out of control... but now...

It used to be the driver, until I got this KZG Gemini 395 Prolite 35 combo in the bag. It's nothing fancy, but dang if it doesn't work for me! My last 4 rounds are all in the mid 70's (8.4 index); a feat I attribute to being in the fairway more often.

Now to try and build another with more exotic components... :busted_cop:
