On the one hand, you're willing to claim definitively that "the majority" of people drink and drive with no evidence to support the claim.

On the other, we've got an arrest and a mugshot (in which Tiger looks more than a little past the limit), and you're only willing to go so far as to say he "may have" done something.

People don't realize how easy it is to get a DUI. Nowadays it is literally not smart to have more than one drink if you have to drive and actually abstaining in public is not bad policy. Yes he should have gotten a ride but I'm sure he didn't think he was that impaired and I'd be willing to bet they were waiting for him and his buddies. Sorry this happened.

Not at all, as you weren't dogmatic(which is tesfreshing :) ) and just suggested a reasonable and probably contributing factor.

 

As one who has been on heavy duty Schedule II narcs, legally prescribed of course, for the better part of the last 3 1/2-4 years, and mine are administered 75% of the time via IV(65% more potent) versus orally, I can understand fully if he did develop an "addiction" as the back surgeries in combination with his prior knee surgeries(with narcotics it's an accumulative effect) give a perfectly legal and justifiable reason for taking the narcotics, IF he is, which I most certainly have no idea.

 

Obviously, one does not mix narcotics and alcohol however I could understand IF Tiger used/uses the narcotics not only to mask the physical pain though many times there is a psychological/mental "pain" that can accompany the physical if one, the injury is a life altering injury and two, it is more than a one time surgery/treatment and is either multiples of either or if the treatment and the physical condition/pain drags on over time.

 

There's no excuse for the drinking and driving though considering that we don't know shat about the man's physical/mental state, go easy on the judgement.

Maybe as part of his sentencing the judge orders him to perform community service which involves going to the other side of the tracks in Jupiter to coach a rag tag but adorable team of downtrodden youngsters, who go on to become state champions beating the kids from the rich part of town with their ultra competitive coach who taught young tiger everything he knows about the game. Tiger is thus inspired to give professional golf another shot and comes back to win 5 more majors, AND gets with one of the milfs whose kid is on the team.
