Columbus Golf (Brookside and Lakes G&CC)

Has anyone here ever played Brookside Golf & Country Club or Lakes Golf & Country club? I'm playing both courses next week and would love some course knowledge or any bit of information! Thanks in advance.

It's been a few years, but I've probably played Lakes 10 times. You will have good time. It's pretty open so you will have room for error off the tee. It's a second shot course IMO. Hit your irons well and you can score.

Hard to believe I've not played Brookside but just don't know anyone who is a member there. It's a USOpen qualifying course and has a good reputation though. Have fun!

I consider The Lakes a "fun" country club course. You can gain confidence hitting the wide fairways off of the tee. The greens have really rolled well whenever I played there, though it has been a few years.

Brookside puts more of a premium on driving - narrower fairways. It is an old-style, tree lined course. You can take a virtual tour of the holes http://www.brookside...les.aspx. Good luck!

I've played Brookside a number of times and the above description is spot on. Driving is at a premium, due to tree-lined fairways and some tight chutes. It has a very "old school" course and country club feel. I really have enjoyed my rounds there, the staff and members were always very friendly and welcoming. At the times I've played there, I remember leaving driver in the bag in most cases to favor a long iron or hybrid off the tee to avoid trouble. They have a nice (but short) driving range to warm up on, so if you have the option show up a little early and get loose.
