The thing that stood out for me was the fact that I was “Given” a lot of questionable putts before I had a chance to mark my ball, shot a 68 that day lol. My Real best round was about the same, but I actually putted everything out and shot a 76. Both days I drove the ball well and hit a lot of greens. If only I could putt better :)

Was in my late 30's. Playing a big (for me) money match against a really good player. $100 nassau, 2-down presses.

Birdied the last 6 in a row to shoot 65 and win $400.

Not my lowest round ever, but my most satisfying. What stands out is the way I struck the ball. I had 9 birdies, and they were all short:

FRONT

6 feet

Tap-in

3 feet

BACK (last six holes)

2-putt birdie on par 5

6 feet

4 feet

2 feet

9 feet

Tap-in on par 5

Back then I could go on runs with my iron game. Good times....

This past weekend I had my lowest tournament round in over 20 years since high school(in relation to par), 68(-4). Granted I only play 2 tournament rounds a year and only 1 or 2 regular rounds a month. I had one of my other lowest rounds 3 weeks ago and had commented on here then. Just like that round the same thing sticks out is that nothing sticks out. Didn’t drive it any better then usual and actuall didn’t drive it that well, wasn’t knocking down pins, wasn’t draining 20-30 footers left and right.

My best round ever was a 2 under 68 two years ago. It was a casual round with a close buddy. All I remember was hitting most of the fairways and sinking a bunch of putts that most mortals miss. I had two chip shots go in as well. Short game was on fire.

My best round ever included 3 double bogeys on the front nine and 4 birdies over all. I ended up shooting even par on the back nine. It made me realize that just because you had a few bad holes, doesn't mean your round is over. In fact, I often have scored worse and had no double bogeys on the card. That was a big wake up call.

Just happened last Saturday at Riviera and I wrote down my scores but didn’t know here I sat really. I looked at the card a coupe times thinking i’m Under 45 for each 9, but didn’t add up the scores. Before 18 I purposefully didn’t add up the score for I had time but didn’t want to jinx it. BOOM Birdie 18 from bout 25 feet back of the green.

Simply stayed out of my way. I got 2 good breaks with wayward drives hitting trees and staying in, chipped in once or birdie from just off the green and my driver was on. By the same token I missed 3 other birdie putts from inside 12 feet, one from 4 feet so could have been better. I’ll take it.

I was nailing it 350 off the tee and chipping in for birdies..... other kids in my group were like this isn't fair... will never forget that tourney

My two best rounds ever have one thing in common...very little sleep the night before. Mind you, this is loose correlation and not causation.

The last round was recently and it was on a weekday afternoon/evening round and I was pretty close to bowing out because I was so tired.

I was +2 on the front with no birdies and nothing memorable. I was -1 on the back with three birdies. I was just off the green in two on the long uphill par 4 18th and chipped one to about 10 feet and thinking if I two-putt from there I best my best score by one and said to myself "f*** it...let's just make this one and best it by two" and then I did.

my best score ever...2-under 69 at my old club - I don't call it my best round because it was a "just for fun" round played with my 2 uncles & my aunt.

Best played round was a even par 71, from the tips under tournament conditions - playing the with current club champ. 2nd day of a 2-day event - didn't win but proud to hold my own.

One of my faults in stroke play, is I get too caught up in playing my FCs, and not the course. Did well that day...too bad both of those were 15+ years ago...game fell off, and just now trying to bring it back

The fact that stands out about this round was that I wasn't even paying attention to my score. Actually, I wasn't even keeping score. One of the threesome that I was paired with kept my score and I didn't even know it.

I knew I was playing decent golf that day, at Randolph North, Tucson.

I was striking the ball well, and it was going where I wanted it to for the most part. And I was having a pretty good day on the greens, which was unusual as I'm normally just a 'average' putter at best. Finished the round, and the guys invited me in for a drink. While talking and watching a tournament on the TV, I noticed one of the guys looking at me kinda weird. He asks me if I knew what I shot, and I told him that I didn't keep score, but thought I had a pretty decent round. He said that I did actually, and that he had kept my score for me.

He then asked me how I shot the par 5s (two front, two back) and I thought about it and realized that I had birdied all of them. OK...

So then I started replaying the round in my head and I remember getting a bogie on a par three on the front, but that I had also birdied a par 4 on the back in addition to the par 5s. Really?!

I guess he could see it on my face as I started to realize what I'd done, because he was grinning ear-to-ear. He pushed the card over to me and there it was. A 68.

If he hadn't said anything, I'd have never known. It was the lowest I had shot in quite a while. Back then, I was happy if I was shooting par +/- a couple.

That was 10 years ago, and I've not shot anything close to that since. Now, I'm having a good day if I keep it under 80. :(

Best round was actually a few weeks ago. Drove the ball okay, never got into trouble. Biggest thing was the iron play was really on point. Hit almost every green. Lot of easy two putts. Made three birdies and only gave one back for -2.

I trusted my swing on every shot. I never had any doubt. I don’t know why I cannot do this in every round, but my trust factor and focus were incredible. I went out in 30 and came in with 34 for a seven under par 64 (par 71 golf course), The year was 1995 and I was a 37-year old playing to scratch. Now that I am retired, I am working hard at getting back to scratch.

Finally broke 80 a couple weeks ago and the thing that stood out to me was that i didn't get to upset about anything. The front nine was a mixture of par's, bogey's, and birdies to shoot 38. The back 9 was mostly pars except for the 18th and the par 3 thirteenth. I was determined off the tee to not hit it into the water, which was left side and all behind the green. It was playing 195 yds, i knew where i needed my miss to be and ended up bailing out to there. Kept my cool, went to play my next shot where i proceeded to hit the ball dead in the forehead and it went screaming over the green into the water. Walked away with a quadruple bogey 7. Walked off the green thinking I'm still okay, just don't blow up on any other holes and we're good. Played the next 5 holes at +1 (the bogey on 18) for 41 and total score of 79. Also remember it being one of my better days with my irons. Now if i can just do it again.

I actually tied my best career low round yesterday of 78 and had no birdies. I had been struggling with my driver lately but seemed to have turned a corner with it and my 3 wood. I kept my tee shots in play and I know that helped. My putting was not great as I missed several birdie tries. I would have said in my other CLR that my putting stood out but certainly not in this one. What stood out was my chipping and being able to get up and down. I was not in the sand all day but did have to chip from the rough several times and was able to save par 4 times.
