Next Apex Irons Release

Saw and hit the new MBs, X Forged, and X Forged UT lat week.

 

Very clean lineup.

MB is the same one seen in tour players bags this spring.

X Forged iron is super clean and really soft feels great.

The UT long irons are great as well for that player that wants something off the tee instead of a hybrid, that is workable but still has some forgiveness.

 

I thought Apex 14 iron was a replacement of 13 X forged. Right? If so, what is the difference between the new X forged irons and the upcoming new Apex 18 irons? Is one targeting better players and the other targeting the rest of us? The lineup becomes a bit confusing I find...

 

New X Forged is very similar to '13 x forged in styling and construction

I can't speak to the difference in this and the new Apex irons as I haven't seen any of the Apex 18 CF or Forged yet. But the major difference between this and the Apex 16 Forged is the new X forged is more of a solid one piece construction vs a forged head with extra badges attached

 

This is awesome I really hope that Callaway makes it easy to blend a set with the new xforged and mb. Im still playing a set of xforged 13 and have been looking for another set to replace the ones I have. The apex line is awesome but I still prefer the standard forged heads without the multi material. It seems like these type of irons go in waves. Titleist and Mizuno with their new offerings are doing this so hopefully callaway follows suit.

Driver is an XR replacement I would assume.......So people in Epic I'm sure wouldn't want to switch i would assume.but to each's own..I bounce between my m2 and xr pro......so whatever they have coming may intrigue me.....

Honestly I think if they sent me a free one of whatever I wouldn't switch drivers right now.

Talked to my Callaway rep yesterday and the Apex MB along with the new X forged and X Forged UT will all be released in late October or early November.

Give me a little '13 x forged mixed w/ '15 Apex Pro(minus finish issues) and we are good

 

They look really good. Satin finish looks really good. The UT is small for a utility iron and will allow an easy flow if someone wanted to make a combo set. I set it down next to my j38 and the size was almost identical. I've loved the x forged from 2009 and didn't get to try the 2013 model but always heard great things about it. The rep said these will be better than the 13s.

I can say from a looks perspective the will blend very nicely. I'm not sure how the lofts will differ. May have to do a little tweaking there.
