I won almost $1000 on that Willet win, he's OK by me

£700 for me! Top man is the D. Willett.

He won, bottom line, and Jordan didn't finish well, bottom line. Jordan won The Open Championship, Danny will never win another.

I don't believe there's such a thing as "the worst" - Danny won The Masters, good on him. - all are major championship winners.

If his brother wasn't such an asshat then maybe people wouldn't mind so much. My guess is they are cut from the same cloth, but in the end I really don't care, it's not like we will probably see much of him in the future.

If Danny Willett and Shaun Micheel went out to your local muni and played they'd both grind out gritty 75s and call it a draw. Micheel would buy willett a Stout and willett would buy Micheel a pale ale and they'd reminisce about the $1000000 deposits in their accounts and tell me and my "funny" a** to piss off.

I have zero interest in Danny Willet as a fan.

Someone made a comment that he doesn't turn his torso. I would pay $25,000 today for his backswing and transition. (It's clearly worth more, but I would have to clear the rest of the dough with my wife)

Now as far as backing into a major- he won. I thought it was a bummer as a fan. But end of tournament lowest score.

I have been at the highest level of another sport and some days you could just smell every single guy was choking. I recall some days thinking that some choker is going to win even if they don't want to and I want that choker to be me. And that's a win oxymorinically.

When the choke infects the field it's like the weather. Someone doesn't deserve to win because it was cloudy. Someone doesn't deserve to win because everyone was choking. Oh big name deserves it because no one would grab it by the jugular. BS

Someone doesn't deserve an asterisk because they kept their act together when the excuse level went up.

Beating chokers when everyone is choking feels just as good as dominating. I bet Willet is pretty happy with his accomplishment.

Willet isn't the worst. I watched him play very well for s couple years on the European tour prior to winning the masters. He's got game. But now his head is scrambled. Swing changes with Sean foley likely being the worst decision he could have ever made.

I looked at that leaderboard. Willett won by three. I looked at the rest of the names, all top players. None of them managed to capitalize on Spieth's so called collapse.

He played better than anyone else on that leaderboard for 4 rounds.

Maybe if he spoke differently, wore an Argyle sweater and fitted the milquetoast "mould", he would get more love here.

Gag me with a spoon.

Your sentimentality is barftastic. Yes. Barf-Tastic.

Yawn.

Possibly the luckiest? to be fair he won due to a major collapse.

It tends to happen in majors. I remember listening to someone once making a case that Faldo benefited from others "collapsing" for all of his 6 majors. Didn't agree with it but they are the most pressure filled of tournaments so it makes it more likely. Regardless of what is said about Willett and what he does from now on, when he got in position he didn't collapse. He deserve credit for that at least.

Can't call it luck. He has won some pretty darn good tournaments and 2016 was just another step forward. Too bad he's dropped off the radar this year, but several months bad form isn't the end of the world. Even without The Masters his Euro Tour success is something the vast majority of Euro Tour players haven't achieved. The vast majority of US pros end their careers with a lot fewer professional wins than Willett.

He played well enough to sneak right in when the pressure got too much for Jordan.

There is no "worst" major champion in my opinion. There are some guys out there that would kill to win a major and they probably never will. Some of the biggest names on tour may never be.

Willet may never when a major again but he's in the history books right now.

Still trying to get mileage off hating Danny Willett because of what his brother said about American golf fans?

There are a lot of one time major championship winners.

It's unfortunate that his brother brought so much negative press. Some people will hold those words against him for the rest of his career.

In his brothers defense it was very funny.

It was!

Dimwit Americans mostly too stupid to get British humor, but it was very clever. It might not have been the brightest idea, knowing the collective intelligence of his target, but very clever and funny all the same. I cracked up reading it.

One thing for sure about British humor. It's never funny.
