LPGA.. Dress code is too lax

It sad to see professional player playing in tank-top
My wife and I were watching LPGA last night and noticed how half of the field don't even bother to dress nicely for the tournament.

The girl that was in the playoff with Natalie was wearing a tank-top and shorts. My wife commented that she wears those, when she's not going anywhere.

I like to see players dressed professionally, I think LPGA should see PGA players learn. I don't mind loud clothes or eccentric.. but at least try to dress nicely.

Morgan, Michelle, Paula, etc.. do dress nicely.. but there are others that are pretty pathetic.

I'll have to agree that I thought the tank top and short shorts were a bit on the unprofessional side. I mean, they do sell sleeveless shirts that have collars on them. She looked like she was going to the gym, not competing in a LPGA event.

AGREED! I was shocked to see JJ wearing a tank top and short-shorts. That outfit wouldn't be acceptable at most of the daily-fee courses I play. Bivens should establish a firmer, more professional dress code.

IMO, the best-dressed players on the LPGA Tour are: Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel, Natalie Gulbis, Christie Kerr, and Se Ri Pak. I really like Pak's traditional Korean shirt.

If the girls can do that, i think that the men should be able to wear shorts on 105 degree days...

Agreed.

You know it's one of the only reasons we watch t he LPGA tour. Ha Ha

Agreed does anyone actually watch the LPGA for the golf :beach:

I watch LPGA whenever they are on TV/Cable. I like to watch LPGA as much as PGA. I would rather watch LPGA than Championship and Nationwide .

I thought I would chime in on this one. This is silly! Just watch the golf and quit crying about the dress code. Isn't it "Playing Golf"? I know when I play any sport or go to church it's about being comfortable and enjoying the enviornment. If you are complaining about appearal you are going to loose, it will just continue to change with the culture! Heck, I thought the coolest golf shirt to come out is the mock t's! Comfy and eh, t-shirt! Thanks Tiger! Sombody call the wambulance!

Point is these women are Professionals, and should dress accordingly.

Golf has had a history of "proper attire" and I don't believe a tank top fits. Sleeveless shirts with collars are fine.

As for shorts, for the women it doesn't bother me, as I would lump them in with skirts. Most golf skirts are really shorts with a wrap around anyways.

For the men however, pants only. Shorts just don't give the impression of professionalism. And with the technology in fabric...the pants don't get very hot, but again look much more professional.

If dress doesn't matter, imagine what kind of rukas John Daly would cause if showed up for an event in cutoffs and a wife beater....

Ditto. IMHO, watching the Seniors or minor-leaguers play is a waste of time.

Proper attire used to be long sleve shirts and ties for "gentlemen" as well. Wimbledon used to be "all white" tennis attire. Times change, things change, everything changes...and history is just that...history. Golfing attire will change with the times...whether anyone outside of the sport wants it to or not.
