Should be able to use any OEM wrench. I swapped out the weights in mine using a Callaway wrench I recently received with my BB Epic.

Go to Home Depot or any such store that sells tools and purchase a set of Torx head sockets or maybe you have a friend that is a mechanic. Auto parts stores like Auto Zone or Advance also have them. You can also buy them Allen wrench style in the packet which would be much cheaper. Now that is to get your weights out. Now on a putter that will be ok but on a driver or FW you need to use the torque wrench for the torque value if installing a shaft or weights

Yeah just be careful of over tightening the weights as it could strip the threads. There is no "click" when the weights are securely fastened unlike club heads...

The click comes from the torque wrench not the weightd

So i ran into the same issue with the white wrench (that comes with TM woods) not fitting. Luckily i rummaged around and found a wrench that was used on the ol Ghost Tour putters that fit fine. Hope this helps.

Most of the early tour red and black putters came with weights that worked with the regular driver wrench. The first limited reds came with black plastic weights that were not removable. But while the metal weights looked like the interchangeable weights from the old drivers they seemed very cheap (like aluminum shafts instead of steel). Those broke off with very little effort tightening. Some even broke off when unscrewing them. Then a whole different mess involving screw extractors. Later on TM started offering weight kits for later releases that seemed to have the original quality steel shafted weights that went in the drivers. Then the problem started to become stripping the the threads in the aluminum body of the putter. I also did discover that it is impossible to weight the head so that it becomes a face balanced putter, weights only increase overall head weight. Face balancing has to be done in the head or with a bent shaft. There are hosel face balanced putters, but those seem to be tour only (have seen only one), every retail putter is a toe hanger. All of the above has been from β€œoh crap” experiences that resulted in use of screw extractors or thread repair inserts.

As already stated the older Cobra wrench works to take the stock 2 gram weights out. I had a lot of leftover weights from older Taylormade drivers and made a weight kit. Those weights take the white Taylormade torque wrench or other manufacturers current wrenches.

I have several of the TM Spiders that have the removable weights. I also have a Spider Tour Platinum that has the so called non-removable weights. My question is, has anyone tried to remove these weights? Are they glued in, or do they actually screw in? Of course, they don't have the Torx head like the removable ones do, but if I was able to get them out, would I find that the putter wings are threaded like the other Spiders? If so, then I could use my R5/R7/R9 weights to set it to my liking.

Thanks

I know this is an old topic but wondering about the above question. I have the type with the non-removable weights but I would like to make the putter a little heavier. I tried to turn the weight from the edge with a small screwdriver but that didn't work. Also, the weights in there look plastic at first, but they are actually metal of some type.Β

Again, I have the same putter with the weights that do not seem to be removable. Does anyone know if you can remove these and get other weights in the putter? Or will I ruin the putter by trying?
