The MP4 won the Canadian Open, that has to say something over the MP5.

 

The MP18, I'm not sold on them yet being that I game the 900T > has a US Open to its name already speaks volume.

MP18's for me but it looks to me that the 4's would feel better due to the material behind the sweet spot.

The MP 4 is the most beautiful iron to come around since the MP 33, my favorite of all time. The 18's are no big deal as they look like the TM's or vice versa. In terms of performance, the 4 is the best blade Mizuno ever made. The 33 was easier to hit but the 4 is long, straight, consistent and it listens when you talk to it.

Just bought mp 18 MB’s. Beautiful set of irons. Love the top line & how the toe sits. If it would only warm up in IL to hit these beauts

Might be bringing this back from the dead, but here's my experience over 15 years.

Previously gamed blades

Titleist 670, 680, 681, AP2's, MB's (all the same story, clicky but still good)

Mizuno MP-4, MP-14, MP-33, MP-29, JPX 919 tour

MP-14's were the best feeling blades I've ever played (yes, I have demo'd a couple sets or miura and scratch feel irons). MP-14's also catered to my occasional miss, slightly off center towards the toe. The cg weight in the irons is progressively more towards the toe. I worked on reducing this miss which made it become less frequent. I built a set of MP-4 with x100 tour issue. Progressive lie adjustments and swingweighted to my preference. Hands down, best irons i've ever played. I can control trajectory, spin, and shape shots with minimal club path adjustments. I wanted to like the mp-18's but side by side comparison of a few weeks of trial, the MP-4 won in both feel and consistency. And yes, MP-4's are still my gamers and will be for some time.

On a side note, the JPX 919 tour are very very good irons also. Feel is similar to MP-4 but i had trouble hitting low shots with them and 4 different models of AP2's.

A shop in town strips the chrome to raw. Then went over them with steel wool.

IMO, the only better looking club at address than MP-4 are Miura MB-001

The MP4 is more reassuring in looks. The MP18 is the best Mizuno iron I’ve ever played. It’s pure and powerful. I’ve only played one other club with a similar feel - PXG 0211 ST.
