I also have never been properly fitted for irons so I have no idea if my current set are remotely right for me.

Great promotion, its been too long since one of these visits came along.

TaylorMade Golf launched the P750 and P770 forged Irons earlier this year and our GolfWRX team spotted P790 long irons being tested on Tour recently, as well as DJ teasing us with some new P730 forged irons. Could these last two models round out the 2017 TaylorMade P700 forged Iron family?

  • Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when? No
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf:

  • There are several reasons why I wanted to get this exclusive opportunity to be fit by Taylormade Golf:
  • 1. Since I started playing golf on active duty assignment in Tennessee, I have never experienced any kind of club fitting, It would be a great to experience what the tour players experience when getting their new set of sticks; this will be a highlight when I retire next year after 27 years in active duty service. A fitted Taylormade iron set will be a great icing in the cake knowing I will now have more time to play after my retirement.
  • 2. Taylormade was the first driver(R7), Irons(R7 TP bought used), and 3 wood(R7 TP one of the best 3 wood ever made). I stiil have in my collection the all Black R7 Quad 50th Anniversary to this day.
  • 3. I have always been curious about Golf R&D since I started playing; that curiosity peaked when I also started reading the discussion threads in GolfWRX
  • 4. I live south an hour away from Carlsbad. It will an easy, relaxing drive knowing that I was lucky to be selected.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf.

I've never experienced anything like this. I am also a forged iron lover and like the way the new lines look. I have had forged irons since my first experience with them roughly 10 years ago. Going through this full on fitting would be an amazing experience and I'm sure could make me play to the best of my ability. Writing and sharing my experience with the community is part of the reason I came to GolfWRX years ago.

Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when? No

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf: I would love to be fit for irons. • Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when? Not the heads (most all blades are basically the same club.) 2 years ago I did a Cool Clubs fitting at my home course. That's where I found that the ProjectX6.5 and C-Taper 125's were best for me. Slight edge to the C-Taper
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf What an opportunity to talk to the people that spend their lives trying to create the best clubs possible. To take the time to really dig into what makes the process tick. It would be beyond interesting to see how subtle changes in materials, design, weighting, etc. have an effect on how the ball flies. I have no doubt it would change my life and be an incredibly memorable experience.

No I was not fitted for them

I love Taylomade products. I believe they share the same passion for golf as I do. I've never been properly fitted for a set or clubs before. Winning this would enable me to do that. I can't afford a true fitting with brand new clubs and would truly appreciate this world class experience.

Current USGA handicap is 4.2

Currently I'm playing Callaway Apex Pro ('16) irons with Aerotech Steelfiber i95 stiff flex shafts. I decided to change to graphite shafts to ease the wear and tear on my hands.

I tried and played with a number of shafts and club head combinations over the course of a year before ordering set directly from Callaway.

I love the look of the new Taylormade forged offerings and think they would better suit my eye and ball control game better.

What are your current irons and shafts (be specific):

Callaway XR Pro's with KB Tour V 120 shafts (Standard Loft / Lie, +1/2 in. length).

Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when?:

Yes, at Cool Clubs Dallas in 2015.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf:

Since my first professional club fitting in 2015, I've been incredibly interested in the club making process and how that is related to and effects the golf swing and ball flight. Being fit and getting to learn and understand the process by TaylorMade would be an experience of a lifetime, and I am more than happy to share that story with other avid golfers. Lastly, I want to give the TaylorMade crew the opportunity to knock my Callaway's out of the bag!

The question should be, "Why wouldn't I want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf"? Having the opportunity to have the best fitters with state of the art faciities personally fit me for irons from their forged line of clubs would be a dream come true. Having a great set of irons perfectly fitted is something every golfer should want the opportunity to do. If I'm selected I would probably beg to have the fitter work with me on a new M1 Driver and 3 wood as well!

Current Irons: TM SLDR 3-AW Fujikura 67g graphite shafts

Fitting Site: TaylorMade Kingdom of Golf at Reynolds Lake Oconee

I have played TM forged irons until 2014 when I replaced a set of TM 2012 CB(4/5) - MC (6-PW) steel shafts w/ my current set of SLDRs following a fitting at the TM Kingdom at Reynolds. I came to TM clubs after years of playing other forged irons (McGregor, Mizuno, Titlist) and feel my experiences woud be helpful in evaluating the new forged TM irons. I am currently evaluating M1/M2 7-irons for Golfwrx which I will finish if the rain stops here in Georgia. Thanks TaylorMade and Golfwrx for the opportunity to apply to visit the West coast fitting site.

USGA Handicap: +2

current irons: TM P750, KBS FLT 130 x (+2 degrees up, +.5 in)

Was fit for irons by myself. Using trackman and GC2 I shuffled through multiple iron head and shaft combos until I found the Kbs to be the right fit for me. It also helps that Im certified to fit Kbs shafts ( Kinda bias)

As someone who is a self proclaimed golf fanatic and has worked as a club fitter/club builder the though of going to the kingdom excites me. To pick the brain of the world best fitters and technicians would be an incredible opportunity, an opportunity I would use to share this info with everyone else. I believe my knowledge of the game and clubs makes me the perfect fit for this event, as well as my age 22. I believe for an event like this you need players of varying skill, varying knowledge, and varying age. When sharing this information you would ideally like to hear it from multiple perspectives. As a younger person involved in the game of golf I have grown up with developing new technologies that have provided me with tons of information that before was not available. Im currently attending Campbell University and Im progressing my way through the PGA PGM program. I look forward to this opportunity.

  • What are your current irons and shafts (be specific) - Mizuno MP-15 w/ Project X LZ 6.0
  • Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when? Kind of. I went through a fitting process at Club Champion in February 2017, but was not prepared to spend a significant amount of money so I just recently pieced together my own set based on the information I had from the fitting, my personal knowledge of equipment, and knowing what to look for in terms of performance, while still being budget conscious.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf. I have followed the last few trips closely, and believe I would be a great candidate. While my handicap is higher, I truly believe I have the swing and potential to be a single digit player. I’ve had a several people and coaches tell me that they believed me to be a low digit handicap player based on my swing, including Monte Scheinblum. I think my game is close to a tipping point where I will soon see some significant gains with the work that I’ve been putting in. Despite going through a fitting earlier this year, I would love to learn even more about the process and dial in my setup even further, as I am true believer in the benefits that fitting can do for ones game.

All in all, I would love the opportunity to be part of such an amazing experience at the Kingdom, and would be forever grateful. I would love to learn more about the process and what goes into R&D to see how that translates on the course. I have always been truly envious of the people that have gone, and believe GolfWRX has done a fantastic job selecting people as they all seem like great individuals. I think I’m pretty great too, so I’d be a good fit on that front haha.

Lastly, I would be more than happy to do a write-up of the experience. I did a detailed write-up earlier this year when I went through a fitting process and shared it in the instruction and Colorado Regional forums. After going through the process, talking it over with several other people (both personally and on this forum) to gain a better understanding of what to look for, and learning more about equipment, I think I would be well suited to write a solid, helpful review. Thank you for your consideration!

  • Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when? Yes, Club Champion (Hackensack NJ) June 2013
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf: Since first having seen the news about the P770 and P750 irons in January of this year I have been very interested in them. Obviously seeing several of the leading names on tour (DJ, Sergio, Justin Rose, Jason Day etc) transitioning over to them leads me to believe that they really perform well. Having grown up with blades I personally prefer the look of blades but recognize the reality of needing extra forgiveness on the occasional miss-hit. It looks like you have been able to elegantly blend forgiveness with aesthetics to create irons that look and perform fantastic. I would love the opportunity to come to Carlsbad and see them in person. I mean wouldn't want to, its like the golf equivalent of Will Wonka's Chocolate factory. Best regards and thanks for hosting this event for the lucky GolfWRX members who win. -Andrew

Current USGA Handicap-2.8

Current Irons-Ping i200, blue dot, AMT 2.0 shafts

Fit- was fit in April of this year by local PGA pro, Brad Fellers, who has done fittings for me for the last three purchases.

Reason for applying: I would be interested to see what a fitting by an actual manufacturer does for my game. A new club should result in lower scores and better play. I would like to see the comparison and judge for myself and then explain it to other golf fanatics like me.

Current USGA handicap -- 17.5

What are your current irons and shafts (be specific) -- Callaway X2 Hot 5-AW stock True Temper Speed Step

Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when? -- No

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf -- It's an amazing opportunity to visit the Kingdom and bask in all the golf. Never been fit for irons so it would be an interesting experience for me. Also would love to play forged irons for a better feel.

  • Current USGA handicap 6.0
  • What are your current irons and shafts (be specific) - Taylormade PSI Tour DG S300 shafts
  • Were you fit for your current irons? No
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf - I have always been a huge fan and supporter of TM irons and have played their irons since I first bought R7 when I first got into golf. I love their equipment and love the M1 products, and also play those. Their new iron line looks incredible, and would be the next upgrade for me.

Current USGA handicap:

- .07

What are your current irons and shafts (be specific):

- Mizuno MP-25 with KBS TOUR C-TAPER 125 S+ (standard loft, lie, and length)

Were you fit for your current irons? If so, where / when?

- Not exactly. I've had lofts and lie checked, but did not go through a proper fitting.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf:

- Where do I begin? I recall testing drivers recently and had all but settled on a competing brand's flagship offering, and then I picked up the 2016 M2. I have never seen such an immediate or more dramatic difference in LM numbers as I have with the M2 series of woods. It made for a very easy decision, one I've been extremely pleased with, and it's also made me increasingly interested in the Taylormade brand. I've also never been properly fit for a set of clubs and it would be a wonderful experience, dare I say dream come true, to go through a process similar to that which the Taylormade staffers are offered. And finally, I used to call San Diego home and love returning to the area whenever I have the opportunity!
