I agree, the brushed steel is really striking in person. My 60 D grind arrived tonight - early birthday present. Can't wait to take it out and pitch a few around the yard before the snow comes again on Wednesday.

If anyone is in the Bay Area, Bayonet Blackhorse is doing a 2 hour SM7 wedge fitting this Saturday with a Titleist fitter for $149 and you get a custom fit wedge included and any other wedges you buy will be discounted as well. There are 2 time slots (9-11 and 1-3 I believe). I signed up for the first one if anyone wants to see my pretty face lol.

White vinegar works well. As I am sure you have previously read, the stripped version of the club will “feel different” than the raw version.

I currently have the SM6's in 50.08F, 56.10S (knocked down to 55 degrees), and 60.08M with Project X 6.5 Shafts (lengthened 1/4"). I am okay with the 6.5's in the 50 and 55, but want a softer shaft in the new SM7 60 I buy. Do you guys recommend just putting a PX 6.0 in the 60? Not sure what that will do with the swing weight with a lighter shaft that is lengthened 1/4". Any recommendations?

 

How do you like the 56 knocked down to 55?

 

I have a SM5 in 54 knocks up to 55 and i can’t hit it well. I find the bounce change (combined with the trailing edge relief) makes me really side under the ball and increases the trajectory too much. It is really hard for me to hit knockdowns/small chips around the green and I am trying to decide to either do a 56S to 55 or just change to a M grind.

Tried out the D grind on lunch break at GG. Chipped on their indoor greens and hit about 20 balls with it. Felt great and chipping felt good as well. No issues. My TVD M grind i play now is 10* bounce bent to 61.11 so i dont think the 2* is going to make a difference.

 

I bit the bullet and ordered a 60.12D RAW from DD bent to 61* with Black Onyx S400.
