What? No love for the Burrows Golf Mac Powersphere? I had one of the drivers and at address its clear they were going for the Titleist look at the time. Soundwise looking back I'd say modern day clubs that are similar to that are the TM M-series. Was actually a pretty good driver.

Kenneth Smith

 

Living in Kansas City, where Kenneth Smith was located, I still occasionally see a KS club in someones bag, in fact I did just last week. They were kind of the PXG of the day, totally custom made one club at a time at a high price point. Very high quality clubs for their day. Innovative as well. Mr. Smith invented several custom fitting procedures and I think he either invented or sold the first swing weight scale. A KS swingweight scale used to be the gold standard.

I know First Flight was mentioned but what about equipment marketed as Palmer?

 

And Hermans sporting goods in NY & NJ used to sell Butchart Nicolls as their store brand.

snake eyes. high quality wedges . I find them all the time in thrift stores as the company was here in jax fla. golfsmith bought them out I believe and sold clubs under their name. still good clubs but the orinigal wedges were really special. used by some on tour.

Ahh man my first "real set" of irons were a set of Maxfli Revolutions that I gamed for a solid 6 or 7 summers of everyday golf.

 

As a proud Canadian, I feel the need to mention TNT Golf in this thread. A definite late 80's to late-90's staple in proshops across the land.

Some of the old clubs I have had, Gary player with fiberglass shafts, ram with aluminum shafts.many more I cannot remember, but the first pro line ones I had which I got in 1960 after saving for mounts were Wilson x31 ..i also had some Wilson sam Snead clubs, the company I worked for had there own employee store witch had golf clubs, guns, fishing gear , ball gloves and bats etch..

Still have a KS swing Weight scale that was given to me from my mentor's estate.

Hillerich & Bradsby made Powerbilt clubs for many years. Very good persimmon woods and irons and had a good tour presence back in the day. I think Fuzzy played them, among other guys.

I have some from the 1920's. They say "Kro-Flite Cushion Neck...Professional Golfers Assn...Custom Made".

 

They are stamped with the pro's name (V. Arthur Smith---he was referred to as "Captain Smith") & the initials of the club member.

Orlimar

 

If i ever see an Orlimar trimetal in a store, I buy it regardless. Only one thing I wish i could change. If I could find a store to actually reshaft it to something closer to my spec I don't know if anything would ever replace it.

I have said it on here before but those Trimetal Fairway woods were the real deal. The driver? Not so much. Just a really poor design in my measure - could not hit that thing for anything. Sold it to a buddy and was glad to part with it.

think of the oilmar trimetal driver as a 2 wood. can be used from the fairway on a good lie also

Along with then I also found some Haig Ultra irons. Were they part of Wilson or a separate company?
