Titlest 906F4

Recommended Posts

AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 2007 To The Public

With a lower, deeper CG and more loft, the 906F4 provides higher launch and ball flight from the tee or turf. The 906F4 is good for players of all swing speeds that need increased launch, spin and downrange trajectory.

The pear profile of the 906F4 features a longer, shallower face for confidence and forgiveness and a square set-up that promotes a straight ball flight. A multi-material construction with a separate face insert alllows for maximum ball speed and a hot, lively feel.

The 906F4 utilizes an innovative Multi-Relief Sole™ design that allows for crisp, solid contact from a variety of turf conditions. The Multi-Relief Sole provides greater ground clearance at the trailing edge of the sole to minimize turf resistance.

I just purchased one of the 906D4 15.5 degree woods with the Graphite Design YS6+ shaft in regular flex. Got out to play nine this afternoon.

My first chance to use it was on a 545 par five for my second shot. I was in light rough and instead of using my hybrid I hit the 906. Very smooth with a boring flight and carried about 220. Very impressed.

Second chance to use the club was on a 309 yard par 4 into the wind. Again, very smooth, drew a little left and left me with 85 to the pin.

Overall, I think this will be a nice compliment to my 907D2 driver and now both my woods are Titleist. The Mizuno F50 is out of my bag.

Got the 18.5 degree F4 VS Proto 80s. Played some holes with it today. Set up is great. Club head sets up perfectly on the fairway with the shallower design (alot better than 904 in my opinion as you would expect with a newer model). I had reservations about hitting this club off the tee but it was very easy and the shallower head is no issue. The shaft/head combo is awesome. It goes high (not too high) and lands soft which is what you want from a 3 wood with this sort of loft for shots into the green on 5's and off the tee on tight 4's. In regards to shot dispersion it is great to play a high cut with but also works right to left well. Distance wise I found this club to probably work best from around 210 metres.

Now I want to try the 15.5!!!!!

I had the F2's and wasn't really planning on changing to the F4's until I hit them! Went with the 13.5* and got the 18.5* (which trades in and out of the bag with a 2 iron). My biggest concern was off the tee with the 3 wood as the face is shallower...but no problems after I just teed the ball down a hair. Love the VS Proto in these clubs and very easy to work the ball back and forth with them. I have played a lot of Titleist clubs over the years, and these are definitely the easiest to hit of the fairway woods they have made over the last 20 years. Still not what I would call a high-handicapper choice, but certainly not as demanding as some of the previous models of years gone by.

I just got a 15.5* but have not tried it yet. I am really excited about it, a never ending search for a good 3 wood.

What other shafts you guys have and how was the feel and difference in terms of performance among various shaft combination?

Got the 15.5 degree F4 VS Proto 80s and have not got a chance to try it due to crazy work schedule. Wondering whether I pick a right shaft as it has torque 2.5.

I used 906 F2 NV-75 stiff which as 3.5 torque

Got a 906F4 15.5% wood with a stiff pro V2 shaft off ebay this week and just been to the range and hit probably 15 balls with it and i was very impressed with it , the ball flight was good not too high or low and i hit a few with a nice little draw , going to buy a 18.5% model at the end of this week :D .

2nd time out with the 15.5* w/ the GD YS-6+. Easy swing great results. Got it new for $125 on sale. Might go get the 18.5* as well w/the same shaft. Really love the feel of the shaft with this head. Feels so solid and compressed at impact.

18.5* with Grphite Design MD8X feels like a hybrid with fairway distance. It sits on greens for me from 240+. I've tried it with a VS Proto, V2, Pro Launch Red and Diamana Blue (best of these four) But love how well this combo gets up high and follows my envisioned line of flight.

Just got the club today. Bought it on ebay for a super price and WOW!!! what a difference a club makes. I had been missing a great 2nd shot club for long par 4's and par 5 holes. I now have that club. I hit some really nice shots today and felt confident when holding this club. I even tee'd off with it on 5 holes of the 9 we play each day at noon. Far and straight with a slight draw. I wish I would have had this club 2 years ago. I look for my scores to improve.
